Yeah that's a problem. I mostly use Firefox too.

Lancer I just posted a new problem on ya board. It stops working in IE8 when vBcredits by Dragonbyte is enabled.

8thos 08-26-2011 08:11 PM

Where is Lancer at anyway?

I bet this dude is playing Call of Duty.

08-26-2011 1.2 Moved most remaining code in the global scope to LiveThread class, in all plugins. If there is a conflict with another mod, there is a 99.999% chance the coding of the other mod is at fault.

08-26-2011 1.3 Added `d` GET parameter to XHR's preventing caching of ajax requests.

---

1.3 should resolve a lot of the no-error cases. Only time will tell. :)

8thos 08-27-2011 02:19 AM

Kewl. I'll check it out when I get off work.

JayCat 08-27-2011 02:23 AM

Does this add a lot of database queries?

8thos 08-27-2011 02:33 AM

Doesn't phase my site a bit.

No.

pete_brady 08-27-2011 08:45 PM

Working fine for me in IE9, but nothing happens in Chrome 14 or Firefox 6.

SECTalk.com 08-27-2011 09:21 PM

Lancer,

Just wondering if it would be possible to reset the timer when a new post is entered. For example, you load the last page and you have a 2 minute timer. If within the 2 minutes, someone posts, the mod obviously loads that post, but it resets the timer at that point. Then with the fresh 2 minute timer, if there is another post, then its reset again otherwise expires.

I'd love to pay for functionality similar to this.

Thanks

It is good functionality and will be in 1.5 or 1.6.

Hi I posted my issue on Dragonbyte-Technoligies http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/threa...7806#post27806

I am running vBCredits 2.00 Also posted the issue on your site.

You couldn't join my site earlier because I recently added wordpress and messed up but I fixed it. Answer is DRE

Same problem i was having

Added a demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UAwqt2xPnU

A note to downloaders: be sure that you uploaded the new javascript file that comes with each release (we are currently on the fourth release). Otherwise, many of the fixes will not take effect.

mikelf453 08-30-2011 03:14 AM

I installed it but it totally messed up my forum. It started going really slow and getting very buggy. I'll wait for another version to come out.

But thank you! :)

Maybe we seem skeptical because this mod was hyped up by the coders who worked on it before. Lancer coming right after those guys who were unable to come up with a working product is just having bad timing. This mod is worth jumping through the hoops though if I can get it work. I had to join Andrew's Gameroom forum just to get his vb4 Casino mod working right.

Exactly. I used the previous one whomever was working on and it just did not work right.

I'm optimistic for this as I have desperately wanted it. Just waiting to see if this works right as I won't be jumping in feet first again.

Does this have any issues working with custom postbit fields or do they just display fine?

Works fine.

vbresults 08-30-2011 10:23 PM

08-30-2011 1.4 Fixed compatibility issues with `Post Thank You` and `Posts Groans` mods. JS is now coded to stricter standards.

BE SURE TO OVERWRITE THE OLD JAVASCRIPT FILE!

vbresults 08-31-2011 06:08 PM

08-31-2011 1.4.1 JQuery function calls now explicitly use the `jQuery` object to prevent conflicts with other frameworks. In this version, only the contents of the upload folder need to be overwritten. The version change in the XML is just for consistency.

Quickness 08-31-2011 06:25 PM

Got this installed, sadly it does not work in IE or Chrome.

Verified in the source code of my forums that all the .js files and such are loaded.

8thos 08-31-2011 07:07 PM

It's working in both IE and Firefox! I tried it with cloudflare off.

Turning cloudflare on and if it doesn't work then it's one of my cloudflare settings.

I have to wait at least 10 minutes before I can test.

8thos 08-31-2011 07:36 PM

With Cloudflare on it updates for Firefox but not for IE. Checking Cloudflare settings now.

8thos 08-31-2011 08:07 PM

It works in both FF and IE! I had to turn off minimize CSS in my Cloudflare settings.

8thos 08-31-2011 10:05 PM

It works now but it's slowing down the site for some users. Hmmm.

Gonna see what else I can do to speed up my site.

So this only works in certain browsers? I use Chrome...

8thos 09-01-2011 03:07 AM

I only troubleshooted with Firefox and Chrome. I'll check to see if it works on Chrome in a couple of minutes.

You will have to check on your board. I haven't tested it against a lot of mods here; instead, I have coded it in a very non-intrusive way so that other mods don't have an effect on it. And no, I use Chrome primarily and it works fine (for me).

Cybertims 09-01-2011 04:56 PM

Doesnt work for me in either Firefox or IE, I have lots of other MODS installed but no idea where to start as far as what might be blocking it from working.

Disable them all and enable one by one until the live functionality no longer works. You can isolate the problem mod in this way.

I'm happy to say this is working flawlessly. Thank you so much for this.

I have been wanting this modification forever.

Found a bug, sometimes posts will display twice. Once I refresh it is fine though.

sticky 09-06-2011 06:35 AM

Ok, another bug, can't use Iquote: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=248504 with posts that show up live.

Cybertims 09-06-2011 10:01 AM

It now appears to be working since I disabled iQuote, but each new live post shows up twice until the page is refreshed, then all is ok.

Fready 09-06-2011 12:37 PM

Looks like there are still too many bugs with this to install it yet.
Also it looks like it conflicts with other mods

Guess one has to remember that a lot of vB sites don't just run on the standard way it comes from vB but with lots of mods from here, so they need to work together as much as they can without other mods stopping them from working

I have the same problem with the double posts until the page is refreshed.

Also, if I click reply with quote it will take me to a new page on posts that showed up live instead of allowing a quick reply on the same page. This is also fixed with a refresh as is Iquote.

It isn't really conflicts with other mods as much as just bugs to still be worked out with the product itself.

We are at 1.4.1 now, and it has always worked on boards with properly coded mods (to signify this, it works on lancerforhire.com [which is heavily modded, but done properly] and fresh installs no problem, not an error). To be making such a claim, you can't be a programmer. Don't talk about something you know nothing about, friend.

There are no public coding standards (or enforced ones at least) to prevent stuff like this from happening so conflicts are inevitable, especially for Javascript-oriented mods. I am simply making sure that this mod is not the cause and improving this mod as much as possible.
