The 'Up load' file has a folder called 'All' to be uploaded into the 'Packages' folder, so do you upload the folder called 'All' or just upload the folders within the folder called 'All'?

I see it says about

Where do you 'Configure' this after installing? I installed the xml file via my Admin CP, went into the vB Options but wasn't able to find anything to do with this Mod.

@New Joe
I've updated the package with a more sophisitcated readme.txt, does that answer your questions?

So the update only add more detail to the readme.txt or should I update?

Andreas 12-27-2010 11:09 AM

Yep, it's only a new readme.txt

Thank you for your quick reply.

Is there any way this mod can be activated without 'losing' a member's existing list of unread topics?

hm i have the same problem right now. what have you changed to make it work for you?

*push* :(

Disabled

I liked this modification, because it showed updates not only for the forums.... But for the blogs & groups as well.

However, it seems that this didn't work out as well as I wanted it to.

I would click "whats new" and even though there was a lot new... It always told me nothing had happen within the last 24 hours.

MarceloS 02-02-2011 03:10 PM

I congratulate the coder for this product, it is an awesome idea.

For me this product would be awesome if it had the option to show new posts first and in the bottom the post updated in the last 24h.

Or if it showed blog posts when you clicked the "posted today" link "/search.php?do=getdaily"

Yes, by default it shows nothing. You need to turn on in the settings whatever you want to see in the What's New.

To my knowledge, those settings were turned on (when I had this enabled)

My forum users now report that they see that "nothig new" message, when there are unread messages, you're right, something's wrong. Though even when I mark everyting as read, I can see unread blog entries with this mod, as admin, never get the "nothing new" message. Maybe a permissions issue? Couldn't find settings on that.

xtumen 02-06-2011 06:38 AM

Screenshot

http://tfpforum.ru/attachment.php?at...5&d=1296980206

Says 48 unread messages

BadgerDog 02-07-2011 02:25 PM

Is there a simple way for me to get rid of the What's New? tab altogether?

Thanks for any feedback .... :)

Regards,
Doug

Un-installed

Was a good idea, but does not seem to be fully working.

Also I'm optimizing my community for a quicker load.

It used to work and in the last couple of days mine started behaving that way as well.
I can see the new posts if I click on the 'New Posts' in the subnavbar area after clicking on What's New, but What's New is not providing any results.

pushpullbar 02-15-2011 08:49 PM

disabled until resolved.

DirtRider 02-18-2011 07:01 AM

Great mod have it installed. Just one small thing when it shows a members birthday it will just show the members name at the top of the list. It could be a bit confusing as it does not indicate what that members name is listed for, maybe a heading "Today's Birthdays" or something

mkv 02-18-2011 07:49 AM

I'll wait for a stable release, subscribed to the thread. Thank you!

alfanexus 03-12-2011 07:10 AM

I can not belive that vBulletin still only shows forum posts in whats new. Maby they forgot that they also impleamented blogs, cms, groups and visitormessages...

Anyway thanks for creating this, its better to have the increased server load that having a community experience that feels broken and imcomplete.

DirtRider 03-16-2011 04:34 AM

This is a great mod that is for sure. What would also be nice would be the following.

1. From the What's New menu an easy way for users to tag what they want to show in the search. I know this is available in your profile settings but most members just don't seem to see it.
2. Add new images uploaded to the photo albums

Phaedrus 03-21-2011 10:13 PM

This totally didn't work for me. What's going on? It actually made the What's New? page entirely empty. However my "unread posts" notification was telling me I had a few hundred unread posts...

It couldn't have been both. Remove this and boom, they're all back...

What the heck is going on?

Well, anyway, deinstalled. I hope that this will be fixed later, it looked like it would be useful to my purposes.

You have to go into your admin control panel, choose message searching options, scroll to the bottom and select what type of content is displayed.

I don't see a setting there for the type of content.

It's under "Content Types for New Content Search"

You have to select one or multiples and hit save.

Boofo 05-12-2011 05:13 PM

I do not see that under "message searching options". Are you sure you have the right setting? Or do you need the have the CMS enabled to see it?

Well I see it in my Vbulletin 4.1.3 Publishing Suite. I don't have CMS enabled though.

Weird you don't see it. I did not get any results under what's new until I selected those.

Boofo 05-12-2011 05:32 PM

I also have the 4.1.3 suite. Can you post a pic of the setting page for that?

GrabMyWrist 05-12-2011 05:38 PM

1 Attachment(s)
Sure.

Also I'm using version 1.0.0 Beta 3 of the mod. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Boofo 05-12-2011 05:51 PM

Ahh, Okay. Now I see what is going on. I thought I had this one installed but I have the other one Andreas did installed instead. My bad.

GrabMyWrist 05-12-2011 06:00 PM

LOL, no worries.

CK 05-13-2011 01:33 PM

Thanks for this. I installed it and will see how it goes. It might perhaps be better to give it it's own settings within adminCP rather than tacking it onto the Search ones, took me a while to find it lol.

CK 05-13-2011 09:26 PM

You might want to reword this

The content below has not been updated since your last visit but still contains unread portions.

What is wrong with it? It has been like that forever.

CK 05-13-2011 10:11 PM

"Unread portions" specifically, it's not really relevant how long it's been there. Unread portions of what? Do forums have portion sections? :D it's just not your typical descriptive word for a forum. I edited the phrase to read posts, I would have put content but I didn't want to use the same word twice in the once sentence. :)

CK 05-13-2011 10:13 PM

What about unread bits :D

Boofo 05-13-2011 10:32 PM

I pretty well leave it as is since it is that way on vb 3 already so everyone has gotten used to it by now. No sense in rocking the boat. ;)

CK 05-17-2011 09:57 AM

Just noticed that this seems to cause an issue when you have tapatalk enabled on your forum. Any search results return via the app only show everything above the line "the posts below......" I wonder why this happens?

Also even if you mark all forums read and then click what's new it still shows the notification in the search results.

Alfa1 05-31-2011 05:59 PM

Does this also show new profile images / album comments?

CK 05-31-2011 06:39 PM

Don't think so mate.
