I had installed this mod early on in my upgrade to vb 4.0.8 and it broke the content.php page, and I'd been stumped ever since. I stripped my vp installation down to bare bones, and finally figured out the error is being caused by this mod. I've added everything back on, and I still cant get things to function.

i get not being supported, but if i uninstall this modification I still get the db error

Hello

Nice I've slowly the feeling that here is nothing more and we get no more help from the coder.
It is a pity that there is nothing more stirring.

Hippy 01-06-2011 12:26 AM

confirmed

doesn't work with (vBulletin 4.1.0 Patch Level 2)

RS_Jelle 01-06-2011 07:20 AM

I just installed it on my vB 4.1.0 testsite and it works fine :confused:

Uploaded - Installed product XML - Set usergroup permissions (you need to set this per usergroup that can auto-post threads!!) - Enable it in the settings - Set a default forum
Then I created a file and the thread was auto-created as expected.

Hippy 01-06-2011 07:54 PM

Hey RS_jelle , thanks for your reply
is that exactly what it is called, what part is in under? downloads II ? or else wares I was unable locate that ..
I figure you meant to make sure the usergroup had permission to make posts in the forum you choose.. will test it out again..

Hippy 01-08-2011 12:33 AM

I can't for the life of me find usergroup that can auto-post threads to enabled..

That permission stands all alone. It's right at the bottom of my usergroup permissions.

DownloadsII Create Thread Permissions
Can Create Threads on Upload? Set to "Yes", to allow threads to be created when a file is added to DownloadsII.

Hippy 01-08-2011 01:10 AM

thanks
I just found it at the very top..

KeystoneAirsoft 01-08-2011 01:16 AM

Hippy,

Mine isn't at the very bottom either it is above "Forum Viewing Permissions". I didn't see it either and I looked at every section and finally found it. Of course mine was set to "No" lol. Will try it out.

Thanks Mindz for pointing that out.

NiTRoN 01-10-2011 03:53 AM

work fine on 4.1 PL2 ..

NiTRoN 01-13-2011 03:08 AM

when you edit existing file that doesn't have discussion thread created/associated with the add-on.. you get msg..

vBulletin Message
Invalid Forum specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator

I have it set so any new files created no matter what category thread created is in only 1 forum.

Sounds like you don't have permissions set for each usergroup.

john h 01-14-2011 02:36 AM

I upgraded, but I think I must has uninstalled the old version. Now if I edit a download, it creates a new thread, on top of the old one. Is there a way to stop this?

Bram H 03-20-2011 09:27 AM

Works in 4.1.2 :)

NiTRoN 04-04-2011 01:38 PM

I've fixed my error by editing mysql database tables because for some reason from previous mods have wrong value in the table that looks for the forumid

I downloaded this and installed it because I used it before, but things I didn't expect.

I do NOT want files stored offsite and this mod seems to promote sites that are havens for pirated script, to be quite honest.

I also can not appreciate that when you click on add files that nearly that entire page is in Italian. How do you convert that whole page to English? Fishing through the phrases is a ton of work.

I really want to remove almost all of the first part on "Add File" so that all that shows is the file upload section. I can decide more if I can see the attachments completely in english.

Please see attachments. I would like to remove all this stuff as I do not need it.

Marios858 05-31-2011 07:43 AM

Excellent Work my friend , its working perfect on Version 4.1.3 ....
Thanks a lot ..:up::up::up:

Bram H 06-27-2011 03:12 PM

Confirmed working for 4.1.4 :)

A request for Jelle. Would it be possible to have the created threads and posts show up directly under the download files? More or less the same was as the article comments show up in the CMS?

Doc2911 08-01-2011 01:19 PM

thx, working for 4.1.5

tarus 10-01-2011 08:07 AM

hello, i want to ask a question. we would like to use download part of site with the downloads links from the file sharing sites. not with the uploading to the site. is it possible use like that?

Welshy2008 01-23-2012 09:13 AM

Can anyone confirm this to be working flawless on 4.1.10 please?

Hippy 01-23-2012 10:43 AM

working 100% enjoy

I disagree. I have a need from time to time to turn on HTML comments to find a template issue. Both vBulletin and every other add-on I have behaves nicely with the HTML Comments turned on, except downloadsii. I consider this a bug.

For those who would like to fix it, here's a simple fix.

Find the plugin named "DownloadsII: Create Thread on Add".

Partway down, you will see some code that uses vbulletin templates to build the message that will be posted. Like this:

PHP Code:

    $templater vB_Template::create('downloadii_create_newthread');

$templater->register('id'$id);

$templater->register('dtitle'$dtitle);

$templater->register('ddesc'$ddesc);

$pagetext .= $templater->render();

// VB3 eval('$title .= "' . fetch_template('downloadii_create_newthread_title') . '";');

$templater vB_Template::create('downloadii_create_newthread_title');

$templater->register('dtitle'$dtitle);

$title .= $templater->render();

This takes the raw templates (including the html comments if you have the debugging turned on) to use for the message. Edit the above code like this:

PHP Code:

    $templater vB_Template::create('downloadii_create_newthread');

$templater->register('id'$id);

$templater->register('dtitle'$dtitle);

$templater->register('ddesc'$ddesc);

$pagetext .= $templater->render();

$pagetext preg_replace('/<!--(.*)-->/Uis'''$pagetext);

// VB3 eval('$title .= "' . fetch_template('downloadii_create_newthread_title') . '";');

$templater vB_Template::create('downloadii_create_newthread_title');

$templater->register('dtitle'$dtitle);

$title .= $templater->render();

$title preg_replace('/<!--(.*)-->/Uis'''$title);

All I did was add a line after the template was evaluated to strip all HTML comments from what was rendered, once for the message and once for the title. These 2 SMALL edits are all that are needed to make this plugin play nice with the html comments debugging set to on.

Just tested it for ya...

there is a different issue you may be having...

likaweb 05-03-2012 06:15 PM

I apologize it was my fault I had not loaded folders :D

SuperTaz 08-01-2012 01:46 AM

Edit...It works great on 4.2.0.

Webbstre 12-04-2012 11:53 AM

Ok, I think I have a weird bug to report for this modification. Recently, I've had two files from DownloadsII have their comments threads (created by this modification) "updated" with the usual "[File Name] has been updated!" message. Here's the thing: the posts are not by the owner of the thread, they are by staff members on my site (who have limited admin privs, if that helps). They aren't modifying the files or their descriptions though, all they do is log in and these posts are created automatically. You can see an example of this here: http://www.runicgamesfansite.com/hot...html#post22467 .

I'm really not sure what to make of these posts, as they started happening randomly and nothing I do seems to stop them from happening.

Charis 06-06-2013 12:13 PM

Works perfectly on 4.2.1

Davey-UK 11-09-2013 08:59 AM

I dont use downloads11 anymore, and removed it sometime ago. When trying to uninstall this product i am getting all kinds of Mysql errors and the product wont uninstall. Can someone give me the code to use, minus the bits that are obviously not there since the main downloads11 has already deleted tables used.
Regards:confused:

As any other mod. Make sure you removed all files . if your not sure grab the archive ffrom the first post to identify all files and uninstall the product via admincp.

Done all that, its the columns that dont exist that is not allowing me to remove the item from the products list. I am assuming some columns were removed when i uninstalled downloads 2, now this addon is looking for them to delete also.???
Code:

Invalid SQL:
SHOW COLUMNS FROM `vb_dl2_main` LIKE 'downloadsIIforumid';

MySQL Error  : Table 'xxxxxxxxxxx.vb_dl2_main' doesn't exist
Error Number  : 1146

Hippy 11-09-2013 01:32 PM

Try installing the xml product only overwriting. Then remove
If that doesn't do it you'll need to do it manually via phpmyadmin

ahobilam 11-09-2013 03:54 PM

Installed in 4.2.1
and it is working fine.
But there are some prefix and suffix found with the Tile of the thread as below:
Thread: <!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: downloadii_create_newthread_title --> New File Added: Subhashitam-002 <!-- END TEMPLATE: downloadii_crea

Is there any solution to avoid these.
The thread title should be clean only with the file name.

Hippy 11-09-2013 04:40 PM

I belive you need to turn off add html comment to template
Via admincp settings
