Also, I'm running a non-English based RTL with utf-8 encoding, 200K users, 5M posts board, and there are a few problems with RTL and non-English languages.
Can you please make the display in credits.php like it was in 1.4? because it looks really messy the way it is displayed right now.
Moreover, does this hack includes the admin donate/fees?

Thanks in advance.

There is not a lot to see on the front end, but we will have admin screenshots within a few days.

2. in every page in the site i get this: 'vB_AJAX_NameSuggest' is undefined.
Line: 11719, char: 1.

Can you please tell me how to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

In the short term, just edit and save each display to make the error go away.
I have a maintenance update to post in a little while today that will fix both of those.

First, I apologize that it is still in the process of having phrases inserted.
There is a style bug that I am fixing which will make the displays not look like a mess.

Yes! Admin donate has been renamed to the Adjust action. Set your usergroup permissions to use it, and create an Adjust event to start using it. It will be available on the currency transfer popup. In that event you can set (for lite) negative value for action (adjust) amount for a flat fee, or on the individual (currency) amount for per-credit as a percentage fee. If you need help with this let me know.

While this looks impressive, I can't imagine anyone installing such a significant piece of code on their site before the copyright issues are known and legally resolved. They are ANYTHING but clear, and if anything there appears to be serious doubts about claimed ownership here.

The LAST thing I want to do is take a flier on something only to have vb.org bury it or PixelFXStudio's succeed in a copyright challenge.

vb.org have already graveyarded PixelFX's version of vBCredits 1.5 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=245226) (restored for the moment) =) The DBtech/DarkWaltz version is the only official version of vBCredits.

As far as the copyright goes, I'll simply quote you from the US gvt website:

...Even if a person hires a photographer to take pictures of a wedding, for example, the photographer will own the copyright in the photographs unless the copyright in the photographs is transferred, in writing and signed by the copyright owner, to another person.

Rob does not have this, because John never signed any such thing. Rob's "claim" is based on the fact he has no understanding of copyright law =) PixelFXStudios had a license on the copyright of Johns work, which John has now revoked. There is also no truth to the claim that John was an employee of Robs - there is no record of this ever being the case with any government agency, nor any signed contract of employment between the two.

I checked all of this personally, including the legal aspects, before bringing John on board the DBTech team. There is absolutely, 100% guaranteed, no legal basis for what Rob is saying.

I hope the mods will recognise that this is a question people may have, and leave this post up so they have the relevant information on the situation.

With that being said If anyone wants more information on the relevant copyright law and the situation, feel free to PM me and i'll clear it all up since this thread is not the place for further discussion on the issue. Thanks for your understanding

Iain

I just wanted to say thanks to DarkWaltz for checking into some issues I had this with mod, some of which, weren't the fault of this mod. All is fixed for me now, excellent support and an excellent mod!

Darkwaltz4 07-04-2010 01:38 AM

updated first post to address all release bugs :) it should be looking and working as intended now.

Kolektor 07-04-2010 01:47 AM

whoops - updated first post, however if you installed the very first version of vBCredits II Deluxe you only need to replace the files on your server - importing not necessary (unless you want to hide the errors on the display manager, which go away if you just edit and save each one)

Hello, Great amazing mod ! I have a few questions though. Does this have award for posts to be awarded in the postbit like in the 3.8.4 version? Also if this is possible we would have it to come from the central account and not from the user who is giving the post award.

Yes, that is now the Adjust action. Instructions for enabling that are in the readme.txt
However, the concept of a central account has been removed due to widespread confusion and nobody using it. If such a thing were needed later, it could just be calculated.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I was able to configure the Adjust even perfectly. Would have any ideas how we can do to have it so when an Adjustment has been made to appear in the postbit, sort of like we had it before we would have a currency icon in the postbit bar and it would change or highlite when there was an award given. Also could there be a way to add a transactions log outside of the admincp. I have certain moderators that are in charge of the beli accounts and such but don't really want them in the admincp, basically for them to be able to keep track of the awards and payments.

Darkwaltz4 07-04-2010 03:34 PM

The distinction to a post has been removed, adjustments just go to the user. You can suggest this and i can try working it in again later.

A transaction log for all users is not on the forum side, but could be put in pretty easily in the next version, thanks.

I talked with a couple people, and it seems the central account was just used for limiting use of admin donate. As a pro feature, all events can have normal limits both in size and number of uses, so if thats what you needed central account for, I think it no longer needs to be :)

MaxInfinity 07-04-2010 08:52 PM

great mod as always. One thing I would like to see is the ability to use any field as the pay check amount I.E. It could be from any field but for example vb experience, where I could list the experience points as the paycheck amount similar to the joint fields you already have but able to use a formula aswell like field experience / 10 for 10% of total experience points etc. or field experience points + field reputation. hope I made that clear what I was trying to get across.
Thanx again for your hard work.

To answer your question yellow slider - yes, you can charge a fee to donate if you wish =)

John will post the details i am sure.

Iain

I dont quite understand it.

Do we need to buy the pro version to get the red-colored features or not? It's kinda confusing

Pop-up window destroy my forum layout, because it is open on right side, and I do not use legacy postbit.
Is it possible to open down or left of clickable link?
See picture for better understanding of my problem!
Thank you!

Hello Dark, I have a important query. For some reason when I go to see transactions manager I get no transactions at all. We have done alot of them adjusting and testing transfer but none of them appear. Let me explain better..... If I go to the transactions manager directly I get all the transactions , but if I go to the event manager and select adjust (which I have the amount set to 0 because the moderators will only be giving awards through this action they don't get paid for that adjustment, only weekly salary) there is no transactions to be displayed. Is this because I have the amount set to 0? If so is there anyway to go around this so we can award credits for post without having to charge or pay for the adjustment? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated my friend.

Darkwaltz4 07-05-2010 05:22 PM

i am wrapping up some bugs which were found with the transfer box; they will be done in a couple hours - you are probably being affected by one of them. thanks for your patience :D

also - to anyone hoping they can use this with vb3.x, i am wrapping that up for release today as well :p

That is great Darkwaltz, can this have any relation to the Scheduled Transaction Processing option(which I have yet to fully understand). When we go to adjust or a transfer it says the action was successful yet the changes to dot appear in the credit count. I was wondering if this had to do with the scheduled transaction option to be enabled but now that I see your post maybe I should leave the default settings and wait for the bug fix and see if that resolves it.

Darkwaltz4 07-05-2010 05:41 PM

that plugin is crucial to the functioning of this addon :p and yes, if possible just wait for my update a little later today

My default setting for this was set to off , should I turn this on and let it run every 10 mins? In which case the value of "Scheduled Transaction Processing" is the interval time of "vBCredits II Deluxe - Transaction Processor" which should be set to "on" in the task manager? Sorry for all the questions , I'm just trying to fully understand this amazing and complex masterpiece. We are really impressed with your work as usual.

Darkwaltz4 07-05-2010 06:24 PM

We have someone writing up detailed documentation this very minute :p

If you have a smaller/quieter site, then the scheduled task is a good idea. 500 people online at once = pretty bad idea :p That is not the interval time, but rather the number of transactions it will process every 10 minutes. You can adjust that up if you think your server is idle enough for it.

We have around 400 to 700 all day. Server load stays below 0.5 most of the time, what would be a reasonable value considering the server load averages or better yet can these be done on cue?

P.S. promise no more questions : ) I'll be patient.

Darkwaltz4 07-05-2010 07:05 PM

hmm thats in the grey area. you can give it a try and see how your server load looks - please report back with the results :p

Well I have increased the cycles for 50 transactions to be processed and load has not changed much. Was 0.35 0.45 0.50 and now is 0.40 0.41 0.51 , no significant affect so far.

Hello, any ideas why I keep getting this in the pop-up when I click in the credit count in the postbit? ""<span style='color: #FFA500'>Optempo</span></a><br /><span style='color: #CC0066'>Eternal</span><a href='http://www.aniworlds.net/forum/worlds""

ps.: It is happening in both default vb style and custom style. It is not a big nuisance just have to place the name of the member there. Also I can see now the adjust transactions from the Event Manager - Adjust - Transactions , although if you search through your transactions from the link in the pop-up , to where the reg members can see their transactions and top members, there the adjust transactions do not appear, could this be a usergroup permission thing or anything else please let us know. Thanks again the for the hard work for this mod.

ohhhh.... yeah Point Market System for vb4 ... (that mod is looking so guilty right now)

Darkwaltz4 07-06-2010 12:38 AM

Hmm, I hate to say this, but I think the point market system is directly editing usernames, instead of affecting the musernames. You can confirm this by going to the admincp and editing that user to see if all that markup is in the username field as well.

Actually no, the username was just the username no markup.
For example :

Username in admincp: Optempo

in popup: <span style='color: #FFA500'>Optempo</span></a><br /><span style='color: #CC0066'>Eternal</span><a href='http://www.aniworlds.net/forum/forbidden

Post Link Example

Althogh turning the Point Market mod to "disabled" made the issue go away!. There has been more than one problem with this market although it has good direction, but would love to see other options.

Darkwaltz4 07-06-2010 03:07 AM

When looking at optempo on memberlist or profile, is the username marked up in the popup there too?

EquinoxWorld 07-06-2010 10:21 AM

Good morning Dark, well actually in neither my default style or my custom style I get no numbers under credits or savings (2 currency I have) in the members list. But going into their profiles in about the popup for credits does NOT appear with the markup, apparently only in the postbit this happens. I created a test account if you wish to take a closer look , it would be a tremendous help.

Log in: noobster
pass: test1234

Also we still do not get any transactions from the adjust action displayed in our transactions log(example: http://www.aniworlds.net/forum/credits.php). I was wondering if this only shows the adjustments that were made to your account and not the ones you made to others maybe? Because I do see them all in the admincp transaction log. Thanks again for your support for this mod, it should be the best ever in vb.org!.

P.S.:.Side note would it be possible to have the transactions automatically appear in the postbit when you make a transfer or a adjust? For example right after clicking submit to finish the transaction for the credits to automatically appear in the users postbit which they are clicking on let's say if you are doing this in a thread or post. We have set the task manager for vbcredits to run every minute with 50 transactions a min and server load has maintained at 0.23 0.34 0.40.. Would be awesome thouhg if the transaxctions could be performed or executed "on cue". Thanks again for your help with us.
