SouthEastSxS 07-07-2010 08:24 PM

Guys,

I have updated my board with the new XML file and my images are still not resizing, they are huge in the thread.

Any help much appreciated.

SouthEastSxS 07-07-2010 08:39 PM

Ok scratch my last note, it's only huge in the preview not actuall in the message. I do have a question though. Cool that the image shows small but how do I make it so that when the image is clicked on it can be seen larger?

Many thanks for all your hard work on this skin, it rox

Streetgliderx 07-07-2010 09:58 PM

SuperTaz 07-08-2010 12:00 AM

Very nice. Thank you.

docvader 07-08-2010 03:11 AM

OK, very professional, and just superb to look at.

I find two issues though, first, probably not an issue, I just don't see the reason to have two "styles" folders (one with a capital S). With all the modifications people do to their forums, there's no reason to make it more complicated. But, easily fixed.

Second, some add ons to the FORUMHOME template, in the What's Going On section, have a light gray background as opposed to the darker. There has to be a place to alter that in the stylevars, but I haven't found it yet.... Keep forgetting what stylevars is attached to what area....

I have the same problem with the gray issue
http://www.outkasts.net.au/forum/clanmembers.php

is there any way I can get rid of that gray?

CMSTemplateZ 07-08-2010 10:30 AM

Try the Blocksubheader color.. not sure 100% as i am not at home and can not install to help you out, you can also try searching in the .xml file for: "#999999" (minus the quotes) and replace with the color of your choice.

This was talked about I think on the first page of this thread. There is no issue as you said. It seems people are not happy with it this way which is fine, I will think about changing paths I guess if it makes a difference.

That is all jacked out of shape. The developer of that addon is using the forumrow_background stylevar for some of it and somehow picking up the color:#999999; somewhere. Only way I can attempt to fix that is to check it out on your forum but I would need Admin Style & Template access to do so. They are aalso trying to use the forumhead_background for the categories which obviously isnt working either. PM me if you want help fixing it.

Thats because your not using the birthday and guest tracking hack. Nor are you using the sub forum hack.

Yours greys out to the bottom, the longer it is the lighter grey it goes.

Thanks for your time fixing this Qwk86gn!.

oh well i am sorry!

Qwk86gn 07-10-2010 09:31 PM

Style has been updated!

Change Log:
(Version 1.0.2)
? Fixed numerous images for wgo_background, forumrow_background
? Added a Red version
? Changed some images (collaspe. collasped) to better suit both colors.
? Added some changes in the Member Profile page (padding and border)

(Version 1.0.1)
? Fixed postbit_content_max_image_size issue.

How To UPDATE:

? Upload the files as before but overwrite everything.
? Import vbulletin-Blackend.xml and overwrite "Blackend" style
? Import vbulletin-Blackend-Red.xml and choose "Blackend" style as parent.

synseal 07-10-2010 09:57 PM

I can confirm on 4.0.4 since the update all is looking fine, Thanks Qwk86gn.

Streetgliderx 07-10-2010 09:59 PM

i downloaded the new stuff and the folder drop down has me confused....

i extracted all files and overwrite what i had so now i have a folder: Blackend>Blackend> PSD, upload, xml, readme.txt, vbulletin-Blackend.xml

in upload folder i have images, styles........ in xml folder i have vbulletin-Blackend.xml (which has a larger kb size) and vbulletin-Blackend-red.xml

in styles folder i again have Blackened folder......... in images folder i have another folder called styles.....

im just lost as to which ones i must upload or do i upload the images files to my already existing images file in my forum folder?

thank you

Qwk86gn 07-10-2010 10:06 PM

Well the zip is called "Blackend". Only thing you upload is what is in the "upload" folder.

If you upload the zip and are extracting it on the server via the File Manager on your host then it will be confusing. If you are doing it this way, simply zip the "images" folder and upload it to your vbulletin install directory. Then extract it, then it should be fine.

Glad to hear synseal. A quick note, if you do not like the fading to gray, you can darken the background color in the stylevars so it is not so noticable but that takes away from the effect of the gradient. The problem in the previous version was my gradient was simply to short. :)

Stylevars: forumrow_background & forumrow_firstentry_background are the 2 Vars for the the forumrows.

Same goes for the Whats Going On background. (wgo_background)

Streetgliderx 07-10-2010 10:14 PM

no i unzipped it all on the hard drive before uploading it to the server.... where i am lost at is what the extra folders are for and what to put where for the red side... also i am assuming i upload the larger file vb-blaxkened.xml form the xml folder?

Streetgliderx 07-10-2010 10:21 PM

and now the post mit image resizing aint working... i must have imported the wrong file... i imprted the old file back and got the image part working again

Qwk86gn 07-10-2010 10:35 PM

There is not extra folders. PSD is just the imges i made for the style that anyone can use to customize it further. They do not need to be on the server. The xml folder also does nt need to be on the server.

You must import both xml's to use the Blackend and Blackend Red version.

This is explained in the first and in the instructions. There is no extra stuff for the Red version except the statusicon_red folder inside the Blackend folder.

Not sure what heappened with the postbit_content_max_image_width var but I fixed it. Redownload the zip.

Streetgliderx 07-10-2010 10:38 PM

well inside the upload folder i got an images folder and a styles folder..... if i open the images folder i get another styles folder...... inside that is the stausicons-red... so essentially all i need is the statusicons-red folder and put it inside the Styles folder on my server?

ok i just deleted every thing i had on the hard drive and re-dl the zip file and extracted it... its much simpler now.... maybe it was a glitch in my overwrite part????

Streetgliderx 07-10-2010 10:46 PM

sorry im such a pest man.... i dunno why but i had 2 styles folders, one with red and one without... i also had 4 blackend folders in the list of folders as i clicked thru them..... its still the best mod i have on my site.... thanks for the patience

Qwk86gn 07-10-2010 10:48 PM

No I changed numerous images, not just the statusicon_red folder.

Not sure what happened with your zip as the one upload is fine.

The file structure is: upload/images/Styles/Blackend/All the image Folders for the style.

Simple as that. Ignore the PSD & the xml folders.

Qwk86gn 07-10-2010 11:17 PM

Ok guys, while I am loving this skin I have some stuff that I need sorted for me to go live with it, and trust me, I want to go live with it! I have had some of my mods look at this skin and they are loving it but I can't go live like it is. Here is the skinny,

In the image below you will see my "Category Text" "Admin Info and Announcements", since I upgraded to the "new release" the text in my categories has gone from orange to, well, grey. See below, dunno why this got changed in the new version but it did and I need to get it back to orange again.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2010/07/27.png

Now, here is the really big issue I have that was the same on the old version and was hopeing it was fixed in this version. As you can see in the image above. When in the category view it is all one nice color in the forum row. When I go into the forum I get this horrible greyed out nastyness - see below,

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2010/07/28.png

I would like this color to be the same all the way along, just like the top image or even if it was the same as the replies/views window, it makes the skin look like it's failing and I cannot go live like this.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks in advance.

Qwk86gn 07-11-2010 07:06 PM

On your first issue, I changed it because I thought it was to much orange :), you can easily change it back with these stylevars: forumhead_color & forumbits_aForum

hex: #FF9900

On the second, check and see if you have the image here: images/Styles/Blackend/gradients/forumrow_bg.png

Then check stylevar: threadbit_background
See if the image path is correct as above.

SouthEastSxS 07-11-2010 07:22 PM

Checking now,

Ok so I am new to all this, where can I find those Vars? I can't locate them.

Thanks

Forget it found the vars, checking strings,

SouthEastSxS 07-11-2010 07:34 PM

Ok, test colors changed so thanks for that, not just the last problem. I have indeed checked images/Styles/Blackend/gradients/forumrow_bg.png and stylevar: threadbit_background.

I can confirm they are pointing to the right location and image as instructed.

Happy to give you admin to my board to look at it if you want, it is a pre release test site.

SouthEastSxS 07-11-2010 09:32 PM

Anyone got any ideas how I can fix my forum color problems with this skin?

Qwk86gn 07-11-2010 10:20 PM

Yes let me see a link and I may possibly need admin access.
