Not currently, but we're looking into it for future versions :)

And of course, if it could be enabled for threads... that would be PERFECT.

Also something we're looking into :)

Hey DBTech,

Thanks for being active and answering the questions. I really hope you can manage to get this to work out!

I'd just like to note that when I uploaded the files for your mod and installed it and then rolled back my forum DB to the previous one (prior to installation), I was getting some serious exception error and my forum would not load. I don't remember the error message (this was last week during pressure time so I didn't think of notifying).

What I did to fix this: I returned the forum to current version, disabled the mod from the product manager, and then rolled back to the earlier version- then my forum was accessible.

My guess- if the mod is installed without the proper files uploaded on the FTP side to back it (Which is what happened on DB rollback), this causes some sort of exception and crashes the server, making the forum inaccessible.

You should test this out and see if you can simply make the mod unavailable/not working in this case, as opposed to crashing the whole forum.

I am running 3.8.2 and I believe MYSQL 4.1

I had a bunch of other mods installed, but since this error didn't happen till rollback, I doubt that was the issue.

I'm also running vBSEO 3.3.0

DragonByte Tech 07-19-2010 12:40 PM

There's no way to make the mod unavailable if the files are missing; the actions that would make the mod inaccessible would themselves be missing.

Hey DBtech,

Please check this post I made:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...84#post2071584

If you are interested in creating something like that or already have something like that available, then please let me know (it's another version of tabbed forums).

What about sending notifications to user who receives the "like"? It's that possible? Maybe in a pro version...

And the "dislike" feature includes "undo" of a like?

Thanks!

Notifications are in the latest Beta version of Pro

The like/dislike system is also pretty much completely customisable in 1.1 beta as well - allowing you to create your own buttons that have the impact you specify =)

Lite version should be out in the next 4-6 weeks, though obviously there will be features not in the Lite version which are in pro.

Taringa! CS 11-03-2010 06:37 PM

Great news! I'll purchase the pro version when it's out

And what about thread like/dislike system? not only post

DragonByte Tech 11-04-2010 03:55 PM

I don't think that will make it into the final, it's possible Blogs might, but no promises :)

This may or may not work on 3.7, we haven't tested it.

vBActivity is currently going through a required update in order to facilitate the release of v1.1.x of this mod :)

Fillip

DragonByte Tech 01-19-2011 10:16 PM

v1.1.2 has been released. This is a version that has been in Beta for a long time, but is now ready to be released.

Changelog:
  • Thanks and Like have been changed to generic "buttons". You can rename them and control other aspects via the Button Management.
  • Reputation modifier per button has been added
  • Compatibility with [DBTech] vBActivity v2.1.3 has been added.
  • [HIDE] tag for hiding post content has been added.

IMPORTANT!!!
Your Usergroup Permissions, and per-post content hiding have been reset.
Please re-configure Usergroup Permissions via Button Management, and edit posts to include the HIDE tag where appropriate.

Thanks for the update :)

Taringa! CS 01-19-2011 11:01 PM

THanks!

No news about notifications?

DragonByte Tech 01-19-2011 11:17 PM

Nothing yet, no. We had to "rush" this release out in order to get rid of the compatibility matrix that frustrated our Pro customers :)

DragonByte Tech 01-20-2011 11:13 AM

Hotfix for vBActivity & Awards integration released.

Re-download and re-upload all files (no need to re-import XML) if you are using vBActivity & Awards :)

Fillip

DragonByte Tech 01-21-2011 11:27 AM

Actually, ignore my previous post. Notifications are in fact in the product right now. I forgot I added that feature to the Pro Beta back in October.

Re-download the zip, re-upload the files and re-import the XML, and you will have notifications :)

We're currently collecting feedback as to whether your own button clicks should be mixed in with people clicking buttons on your posts in your profile's APTL tab.

Taringa! CS 01-21-2011 01:01 PM

I saw that when upgrading so i removed my comment :P GREAT NEWS :D

Some regards about new release

1) There are no spaces between buttons, so i need to manually made it

2) It would be great to place dbtech_thanks_postbit_entries where we want like it's done on postbit. Extra it could be even better to split {$entries} and {$actions} so we could place at the top of the message the action links and on the bottom of the message the list of users.

3) As there it's a "List Text" (suffix), sometimes it's need a prefix. Maybe it could be added

4) Maybe users can remove receiving notifications?

Thanks!

DragonByte Tech 01-21-2011 01:12 PM

Customisation options will be added in a future version :)

As for #4, they can do that by visiting their profile.

If you mean disable incoming notifs, then that's something we'll add to a future version :)

Fillip

Thanks fillip! Yes, i mean to disable them :p

---

How can i make a conditional for this?
PHP Code:

<tr valign="top">
    <
td class="alt1" id="dbtech_thanks_entries_{$post[postid]}">
        {
$entries}
    </
td>
</
tr

Because i change a bit dbtech_thanks_postbit_entries

I need that piece of code to be shown only if there it's an entry to "like/dislike"

my whole template

PHP Code:

<if condition="$show['dbtech_thanks_area']">
<
table class="tborder" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%" align="center" style="border-top:0;">
<
tr valign="top">
    <
td class="alt1" id="dbtech_thanks_entries_{$post[postid]}">
        {
$entries}
    </
td>
</
tr>
<if
condition="$post['userid'] != $bbuserinfo['userid']">
<
tr valign="top">
    <
td class="alt1" id="dbtech_thanks_entries_{$post[postid]}">
        {
$actions}
    </
td>
</
tr>
</if>
</
table>
<
script type="text/javascript">
<!--
var
Thanks{$post[postid]} = new Thanks_Obj();
Thanks{$post[postid]}.init('{$post[postid]}');
// -->
</script>
</if>

DragonByte Tech 01-21-2011 01:43 PM

That's not possible via a conditional, unfortunately :(

I found a bug.

Even if you have checked on admincp that a buttom Is Exclusive, after liking, you can go back and even dislike :D

Try re-downloading and re-uploading.

Have you setup Exclusive both ways?

That is to say, editing Like -> exclusive with Dislike -> editing Dislike -> exclusive with Like.

Yes!

I can give you a test account, it's a spanish forum but it's easy to understand what to do :P

DragonByte Tech 01-28-2011 09:07 PM

I'll look into it for a future bugfix version - atm I'm a bit swamped with other projects but I'll have a bugfix update ASAP :)

Advanced Post Thanks / Like v1.1.4
  • The columns generated by adding a new button now properly use MySQL indexes on all installations.
  • Installing / upgrading with a user that does not have the Super Administrator permission now works as intended
  • An alignment issue with the button icons in the postbit has been fixed.

Hi!

Nothing related to this bug?

Thanks in advance!

DragonByte Tech 02-12-2011 08:17 PM

I've still been unable to reproduce it :)

Fillip

Taringa! CS 02-12-2011 08:44 PM

I've made a quick video...

http://rapidshare.com/files/447614436/video.rar

After clicking, the "action" that you see on browser it's going back and forward.

It's in spanish but i think you will understand :D

Thanks fillip

DragonByte Tech 02-12-2011 09:44 PM

Potential hotfix released, let me know if that solves it.

Fillip
