Thanks for this!

stupid Question- If I only wanted the ability to change the author of the articles for the CMS (my Impex Port left some authors blank), I only need to do that template edit, right?

Thanks!

sportsfroma2 05-25-2010 02:38 PM

darn it wouldn't work for me in the CMS :( the field is there, I enter my own username (I'm an admin, have all the rights for the CMS and stuff), but it doesn't stay when I save/apply

sportsfroma2 05-25-2010 02:42 PM

oh and PS- the product identifies itself as version 1.0, not 2.0

Does anyone else have an issue where the edited time vs the posted time are off by a few hours??

Will this work on the Forums ... or only on CMS pages ...?

Thanks!

pjcnlv 05-30-2010 05:21 PM

This mod somehow attaches the word "Default" before every post title.

How can this be fixed?

Doesn't do that for me. You can try disabling one plugin of this mod at a time and see if it goes away.

thunderclap82 06-01-2010 05:19 PM

I've installed the mod and I can change the author in the forums, but not the articles in the CMS page. How can I do this?

trafficbrokers 06-03-2010 04:31 PM

I plan on using this to easily change the order of sticky posts. We use a lot of them and want them in a certain order, so when we add a new sticky it's a pain, but with this mod it should be super easy. My question is that after I changed the date of a sticky post, in order to get it re-sorted properly I had to rebuild the thread information. Does this sound right? So it sounds like I should probably set-up a scheduled task to rebuild the thread information every night, or we will have to remember to rebuild it manually each time we use this mod to change a posts date, right??

In version 2.1 forum and thread counters are automatically updated.

Good Day,

I use this mod at two RPG boards and it is vital to our games. Great work!

I have, however, run into an issue with it and wonder if we could get a fix for it?

We have characters in the Stargate RPG (and may have in the Babylon 5 one in the future) that have apostrophes in their names (Examples: Col. Jack O'Neill, Teal'c, etc.).

When we go to edit a post to add our portions of the story, in posts owned by O'Neill or Teal'c, the mod cuts the name off after the apostrophe and resets the post owner to "Guest". For example, Col. Jack O'Neill becomes Col. Jack O and that is, of course, an unregistered name.

I am providing screen shots. Please let me know if this can be fixed.

Regards and Thanks

Alisa

Thank you for this add-on!

Webbstre 06-08-2010 06:14 AM

I do have one bug to mention, though it might not be on the side of your mod, not sure: If a CMS post has no author (such as when you do an import and then merge a CMS user into the admin) then you cannot give the post an author. I went through about 4 Impex imports before I tracked down the problem.

Michlerish 06-10-2010 03:16 AM

THIS MOD IS AMAZING!

Thank you so much. I very often forget to log out of admin account and make posts that should be on my personal account... this mod allowed me to change them all appropriately :)

Fungsten 06-16-2010 07:10 PM

On VB 4.0.3 PL1 it doesn't add the extra post count to the user in whose name you posted. Also I can't change the date either. TIA.

On Edit:

I've also noticed that though it doesn't add on a post when the post is deleted it subtracts from the post count.

ArchAngelz 06-18-2010 06:27 AM

I am experiencing the same thing and this is easily reproducible.

The post count goes to the account actually making the post.

This problem can be solved by running the Update Counters > Update Post Counts; but can be quite a pain to use all the time.

Hope this bug can be fixed.

Alternatively, in the meantime, does anyone know how I can run "update counters" as a scheduled task or something?

ArchAngelz 06-24-2010 07:53 AM

I've discovered another limitation of this mod.

If for example, User A is logged in, and tries to post as User B.

All users who have subscribed to that thread will see User A as the one who is posting; and hence, User B's real identity is known.

Webbstre 06-24-2010 08:37 AM

Is anyone else unable to edit CMS article authors after upgrading to version 4.0.4?

Edit: I appear to be experience a vbulletin bug that is making it so my template edits are not showing up. Not this mod's fault.

Alisa Lindsay 07-24-2010 03:42 PM

I hate to post this again, however, I did not see this had been answered either way. My apologies if it was an I missed the answer.

this is a great mod but problems to me. If I post using another username I have register myself I go to my profile and see that posts dont count on second user and counts as the primary user. Im an admin and will like to post as somone else but this Mod screw me over as members can see Im both users. That is not good, i thought this will count to the other user and not my self,

what is the point of using this mod if at the end you not covering anything but posting with 2 different usernames and counting to the main user account.

Now I ask can this be fix?

Does the count fix itself if you make vbulletin recalculate post counts?

apparently it fixed the post count but.... I still have the problem that posts still show my second username.

What is the point of using this Mod if all post made when you change the author name still will be show the main user posted?

Is there a way to fix this before I get caught in act? lol

Where does it show the second username (and where the first) ?

hotslot 08-04-2010 06:42 PM

Forum Section Works.

CMS Section in edit has option to change Name however when saved/published it does not stick and goes back to original username unless the username is real. I want to use real names not registered.

thoughts?

hotslot 08-04-2010 06:51 PM

sorry double post.

ok, when you go to member profile in forum members, just look at member Find all posts and ther you will see all posts made by main username and all posts made by the fake user as well posted by me.

Sounds like an index issue, but I'm not there is a function in admincp to reset the post-posted-by index?

I dont have a clue if that function exist, never seen it before

Michlerish 08-14-2010 08:04 PM

^^^ If you log in as the user who you set as the author, you can click on "edit" and then "save" and then they show up under View Forum Posts.

Still doesn't affect the post count though.

Thank you very much, I needed a hack like this
Great work
Installed and working on VB 4.0.6

FReeSTER 08-18-2010 01:57 AM

Good to know! Thank you, I will do this now

ArchAngelz 08-18-2010 07:51 AM

The problem with the thread rebuild is that it solves the problem for that time only. The next time you post as another user, the thread count issues appear again.

Merjawy 09-02-2010 08:51 AM

Nice work, I like it.. I thought it was to change the owners name/date like another mod I seen

installed
thanks

damn bro you were correct on this one. is there will be a fix for this? is better to make another username for now because is a pain and dont look good when you post as someone else and get caught in the act by doing it. The mod is great but.... still buggy when it comes to that and wont refresh fake username as the main poster

Thanks, will tag for now until i see a fix to it.:(:o:confused:
