It looks as if either you hadn't assigned a template to your link, or the link had no keywords.

Anyway, I've added some error checking to that file, which will stop that warning from happening. So the latest version (1.0.3 - link in the first post) will address this. You'd just need to upload the revised autolinker.php

Thanks. I'll grab that now and check that other stuff.

SteveV 04-08-2010 08:02 PM

Just installed it but when i go to settings it says:

You are running AutoLinker Lite v1.0.2
The zip i downloaded said AutoLinker_Lite-1.0.3.zip ?

Anything i did wrong ?

kermit2 04-09-2010 06:32 AM

Sorry, SteveV - I'd forgotten to increment the version number in one of the files. It's nothing to worry about, but I've corrected it now

RoughOcean 04-12-2010 09:27 PM

I installed according to the instructions, but do not see an AutoLinker menu in the AdminCP.

I have renamed my /admincp/ directory. Could that be causing a problem?

I did upload autolinker_admin.php to my renamed /admincip/ directory.

kermit2 04-13-2010 07:56 AM

Uploading autolinker_admin.php to the wrong location wouldn't stop AutoLinker from show in the ACP menu (although it would stop those links from working).

The menu is actually controlled by includes/xml/cpnav_autolinker.xml , so you might want to double-check that this file has been uploaded. Maybe do a refresh of the ACP menu frame too (or just log out and then back in)

RoughOcean 04-13-2010 01:01 PM

I'm stumped.
includes/xml/cpnav_autolinker.xml is where is should be, I see autolinker tables in the db, and there is AUTOLINKER_CP in the phrases.

I have uninstalled, deleted the files and re-installed a few times.

There just is no Autolinker menu in the AdminCP.

Is there anything else I can check?

kermit2 04-14-2010 10:03 PM

Yep, I'm stumped by this too. I've not see anyone else with this problem, and everything looks fine :/

TimberFloorAu 04-15-2010 05:22 AM

Lets say we opted for the free/paid version.

Can the content of the popup be external html ?

Reason I ask.

We have profile fields filled out by members. I would like the autolinker on hover over the keywrd ( which is for example fieldx ) to reflect dynamic content from external page, based on the word field x represents.

So if field x is lets say RABBIT
then on hover over the word rabbit ( produced in postbit by displaying FIELD x ) then the content within the autolinker could reflect a variable within a url.. such as:

www.anywebpage.com/keywords/rabbit.html

Is this dooable ? If so show me the license !

kermit2 04-15-2010 08:15 AM

That's not available as such at the moment (although certainly something we'll be thinking about for the next version), but with a little bit of fiddling I think we could figure something out - I'll PM you

Extra PC 04-15-2010 08:56 AM

How to make this MOD work ? i try word like winrar and add link for this but in the post nothing happened

RedPoint 04-15-2010 05:39 PM

I make a upgrade to 4.0.3 and see, my Autolinker dont pop-it-up :O
...we make tests in IE, FF and Chrome, no popup

kermit2 04-15-2010 06:58 PM

Extra PC and RedPoint - if you want to PM me with some details, I'll happily take a look for you both

tobe12 04-20-2010 04:05 PM

Hi All

I am so glad I found this mod. I was using GAL before. GAL has no support for 4.0.x and that was a bummer.

I just installed the commercial pro version of AutoLinker a few days ago on my forum.

It was a simple procedure, every admin should have no problem installing the software on VB4.0.x

I ran into a few issues that were resolved for me quickly by the staff at http://www.autolinker.com.

The issues will be listed here including the solutions.

Problem: After I installed Aurolinker on my forum, I started getting the following message:
Fatal error: Corrupted encoded data detected in /home/XXXXX/public_html/forums/admincp/autolinker_admin.php on line 0

Solution: This was because autolinker_admin.php and AutoLinker.php were
FTP uploaded in ASCII mode - I re-uploaded those two files and made sure they are uploaded in
binary mode.

Problem: I have added new Links and keywords. The problem is that these keywords are
not getting AUTOLINKED in the posts.

Solution: It was a simple problem - the permissions template was restricting who
could see the link. I've made the template viewable to all usersgroups in all forums, and now the links are showing.

Problem: When I click on highlighted keyword in a post, it opens a new blank window not a the desired link page.

Solution: This was easily fixed too... If you look at the display template, there is a field 'href action'. Just change this to 'link' and it will work (the setting means that when someone clicks on the keyword, it should take them to a link) destination.

Once I added the new links and keywords, I discovered another issue:

Problem: Posts will not show in threads. Basically empty thread.

Solution: Discovered some of my keywords had a / in them, and this was being treated as an escape character by AutoLinker. They were removed and Pete at Autolinker also did some changes to autolinker.php, so all are working now.

Hopefully this will help others who may run into the same issues.

Thanks to the staff who helped me sort these issues and get my mod up and running.

Money well spent on this much needed mod. :D

Satisfied User - 5 Stars for the staff so far

TimberFloorAu 04-22-2010 09:45 AM

Pete sent you a PM, could you respond please.

gothicuser 04-25-2010 06:20 AM

Wanted to purchase commercial product, but when I tried visiting your site (autolinker.com) got a 'Server not found' error.
Has your URL changed?

kermit2 04-26-2010 10:20 AM

Sorry, had a few DNS problems over the weekend - should all be sorted out now

I had the problem above where Autolinker Lite didn't appear in the AdminCP after installation.
I moved to a new host and server a week ago, so I thought I'd try again.

Good news that Autolinker Lite does now appear in the AdminCP!

But, I have another problem...

If I try to Add Display Template, the Template Name and Properties are not saved. I give it a name and set the properties. After I hit save, it says 'Template added successfully.' Then when I go to Display Templates, there is no Template Name. It is blank (see the screenshot).
Also the preview and delete links on that page don't work.

If I look in the autolinker_templates table, I can see that it created a row but didn't add any data. (see the screenshot)

Adding Links has the same problem. It add rows, but no data.

I tested some other plugins and they are able to create rows and add data to their tables.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this problem?

kermit2 04-29-2010 06:53 PM

That's odd. It's v1.0.3 that you're using, yes? Downloaded from here? When you mouse over the delete link, your browser status bar should show the url as something like http://yoursite.com/forum/admincp/au...=delete&id=123 . Is the id= parameter set? Does the id correspond to the 'id' column in the database?

RoughOcean 04-29-2010 07:23 PM

Yes v1.0.3 as downloaded and installed today. Although in Installed Products, it says version 0.01 for Autolinker.

The delete link url does look like that and the id parameters match.

kermit2 04-30-2010 06:49 AM

Would you like me to take a quick look at your admin cp? If so, just PM me the details and I'll take a look today. Off the top of my head I can't think what the problem is, but I might get a bit of inspiration from looking around

TimberFloorAu 04-30-2010 08:18 AM

Did you sort the "alt" attributes for "paid version" mate ?

kermit2 04-30-2010 06:04 PM

Sorry yes, that was fixed last week if you want to re-download

TimberFloorAu 04-30-2010 09:46 PM

Cheers.

Have you also fixed the image path in autolink.js for tip_balloon

This is returning multiple 404/410 bad requests.
Seems the path is faulting out to:

forum/tip_balloon/image

This folder doesnt exist, also doesnt exist in d/l package.

Line: config.BalloonImgPath="tip_balloon/"

kermit2 05-01-2010 09:48 PM

You're right. That was fixed a few weeks ago, but hadn't made it into the released version yet (it has now). A quick fix is just to edit the line to read:

config. BalloonImgPath = "autolinker/images/balloons/yellow/"

Thanks man of your good module.

I had a uni_code problem in my MySQL while import from old GAL tables.

Of course I could NOT add a new with Korean Character to a link entry.

I will attach here two capture shot for your update release.

Could you fix that for the non-english users.

Yours.

kawe 05-03-2010 08:33 AM

Sorry yes, think my brain was on strike. I've just updated the original post with an updated version (1.0.4) which should correct this. In your case you just need to replace autolinker.js with the new version (no need to reinstall everything)

Yours.

In v1.0.4, I've changed the charset on the tables to utf8 (rather than latin1) ... hopefully this will solve the problem.

If you don't want to re-install, you could manually change the charset (through the mysql command line client, or phpmyadmin or similar):

Code:

alter table xxx default charset utf8
, where xxx is the table name (which in turn will depend on any table name prefix you're using).

There are 9 tables to modify, each beginning {PREFIX}_autolinker_

Hope that helps

Don't suppose you've modified the file have you? Sounds like a missing } somewhere, but it's certainly not giving an error here. Maybe it's been mangled during upload?

iamacyborg 05-16-2010 05:25 PM

I'm very interested in this mod, but I've got a question.
I want the links to take a specific table from various mediawiki pages, is there any way I could get it to do that automatically, or would I have to create everything manually (meaning updating whenever wiki pages update, etc)?

kermit2 05-17-2010 09:09 AM

There's not a way to do that automatically at the moment I'm afraid, although we could custom code it for you probably

iamacyborg 05-17-2010 09:19 AM

That would be good. Is there any chance you could email me at jacques [at] iamacyborg.com with details about pricing if you were to custom code it?
I'll definitely be purchasing the product anyway, it's too useful to pass up on.

Haywire0311 05-20-2010 01:51 AM

I really want to install this and if all is good go for the pro version but I can't get past the darn install.

I uploaded everything to the appropriate folders (used the v 1.0.4 file) and when I go to upload the XML file, I get this error in the admincp:

HTML Code:

Database error in vBulletin 4.0.3:

Invalid SQL:
ALTER TABLE `autolinker_links` DEFAULT CHARSET utf8;

MySQL Error  : Table 'bmtanner3.autolinker_links' doesn't exist
Error Number  : 1146
Request Date  : Wednesday, May 19th 2010 @ 07:44:16 PM
Error Date    : Wednesday, May 19th 2010 @ 07:44:16 PM
Script        : http://www.m3orpg.com/admincp/plugin.php?do=productimport
Referrer      : http://www.m3orpg.com/admincp/plugin.php?do=productadd

I gave it a shot by using the 1.0.3 file and was able to get around that error. However, once I go to create a new display template or even a new link, I get this error:

HTML Code:

Warning: mysql_real_escape_string() [function.mysql-real-escape-string]: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) in [path]\admincp\autolinker_admin.php  on line 517
HELP!

kermit2 05-22-2010 10:47 PM

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you ...

Firstly, the SQL error during installation was a stupid mistake that I've now corrected in 1.0.4

The second error that you're getting is more of a problem. Which versions of PHP and vBulletin are you using please? What platform are you running on, Linux?

vBulletin 4.0.3
PHP 5.2.5

Platform is Windows.

Mahfouz 05-28-2010 03:40 AM

there's a problem ,, if keyword has a link this MOD change it

for example if there is a word like download Linux program and it has a link this mod will change the link so it must check if the work has link or not before autolink it.

and another thing, for example if i choose games as a keyword and if this word repeated for 3 times on the post it must autolink the first one only, not all the three.
sorry for my English.

kermit2 05-29-2010 12:30 PM

Haywire: I've been trying to replicate this problem, but haven't yet been able to. We don't tend to use Windows and I'm not yet sure if it's a Windows-specific issue.

Mahfouz: You can limit the number of times a keyword is linked to per-post (it's under the Settings menu)
