On my forum I use the who's online and it refreshes every 15 seconds. If I turn off the ajax refresh check and using the who's online when a new post happens would it show then? Kind of like Paul's it doesn't check but when the forum refreshes it shows if there is new posts. So if I turn off auto refresh will this do the same as I like where yours is better.

On the who is viewing thread it does not show who is viewing the thread. I tested this with my moderators. We all parked on a thread and I turned this on and the display changed from all three of us to just me. Their view was similar.

Same problem, any up-date going to happen for this, or anyone know how to solve this?

I have a new bug. When you are on the board and mod check for new posts (you do nothing), user who has email thread subscription, have new email after all new reply without enter into thread.

w-elbalad.com 01-25-2010 11:18 AM

nice mod < thanks

It works as it's supposed to, right?

I believe this has nothing with the email sending feature, but I'll check it.

meschiash 01-25-2010 01:25 PM

For clarification.

If someone has a notice of response to e-mail and is currently on the main forum is a modification from time to time refreshes and checks for new posts.

If at that time to other users update that thread the subscriber receives e-mail every time even though not physically visit the topic.

ps. I apologize for my English but supports the translator

thank you for this. installed.

Is there way way to use the vb cookie system so when you read threads/posts it clears as you read them?

Same here, also the Who's on line problem.

Trek 01-25-2010 11:40 PM

Before I try this out, I need to get some clarification.

Does this only check for new posts since your last visit?

or

Does it check the actual unread posts you have?

I currently use PaulM's Unread Posts mod and it has the option to do either one. Personally, I use the actual unread posts because I think that sometimes people (myself included) access the forums, need to do something else for a bit, click something else and now all the "new" posts are gone, even though they are unread.

In anycase, I'm not trying to stop it from how it's working now (if that is how it works now), but would like to see the same option for defining what is an "unread post" as in Paul's mod.

Thanks!

Charlie98902 01-25-2010 11:54 PM

Counts the threads and posts made no matter what in the 24 hour period I do believe. I want this mod to be that of the same as Paul's then this one would rock.

War.Frog 02-09-2010 12:49 AM

Any word on whether this mod will be fixed to display actual unread posts for the user?

That's what I wanted to see just the unread posts and after you read it, it will reset the unread posts.

War.Frog 02-09-2010 11:46 AM

Yes exactly. I had to disable this mod because it was causing a lot of confusion. Members with NO unread posts still had their New Posts count incrementing.

New Joe 02-11-2010 07:55 AM

Is this hack still supported?

War.Frog 02-11-2010 11:22 AM

From his profile: "Note: All of my products are supported, but I'm busy with my main job, so please be patient when asking for support."

So hopefully that means yes!

(p.s. maybe he's hard at work on updating his Advanced Forum Statistics mod?) :D

modernbliss 02-13-2010 02:46 AM

Nevermind! I got it to work, but I do have another question. How do I keep the New Posts In option when it moved over to the What's New tab? Is that possible? Great mod, btw! Thanks!

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I've uploaded this, followed all the instructions, but nothing is showing up. I just updated tonight and I had the older version of this and it worked fine, so I'm not sure what the problem is. :( Kind of a crappy screenshot, but...

hanbattin 02-20-2010 12:22 PM

TonicWater 02-23-2010 05:31 PM

1. i cant click on the info
2. it dont show up in "whats new"

waiting for future versions :)

axix20xx 03-01-2010 10:20 PM

Will this be fixed? (is this even seen as a bug?)

War.Frog 03-03-2010 12:34 PM

I hope this is fixed too - I really like this mod's potential when its numbers don't confuse my members. Also, I don't know if it's even possible, but it would also be nice if the display area for the info was a fixed width. With the AJAX update, changes from 1 to 2 digits etc. can make the toolbar "wiggly" and distracting.

I realize you don't want to just apportion giants swaths of real estate to this, but perhaps consider showing new posts and new thread counts of 100 or more as ">99"? Just a thought.

JonnyThunder 03-05-2010 10:57 AM

Just wanted to say thanks for this mod. It's very simple but hugely effective!

:-) Nice work fella!

Beor 03-06-2010 12:55 PM

Hello

I install the plugin, but when active vbsupercharged no view the number of new messages.

Thanks

JonnyThunder 03-09-2010 10:20 AM

There may be a wee bit of a bug. If you go to post a message and click Preview, my forum comes up with an error just under where the new posts indicator should be. However, this appears to be an intermittent fault - it doesn't always show.

Still love the mod regardless! Nice work.

TeknoSounds 03-19-2010 03:10 AM

Conflicts with vB4 Supercharged. Turning off the javascript compressor seems to do the job.

Valter:

Not sure why but this mod seriously bogs down my admincp as well as certain sections of my forum that all members have access to. I have no idea why, but it has been going on for a few weeks. I finally found this mod to be the issue today and once I disabled, things picked up.

Any idea why this mod would do it, and any idea on how to stop it?

Bram H 03-22-2010 08:20 AM

Saw this way too late (as usual :)). Thanks Valter, another great mod!

Valter 04-10-2010 06:59 PM

Smiler2009 04-12-2010 04:04 PM

Valter,

Super Mod, just one question, I have the album and gallery mod and on the navbar You mod is split by it, i.e. the first nav button says New Posts then comes Gallery and then 9/17 (for example)

Any way I can either move your mod along to the end or stop it doing this in any way?

Regards, Jeff.

Valter 04-12-2010 07:25 PM

Change plugin execution order to fix this.

Example:
- Adv New Posts = 5
- Gallery = 6

Smiler2009 04-14-2010 04:55 PM

Thank you Valter, much appreciated.

Jeff.

bayXzor 04-14-2010 09:27 PM

Installed
Nice job!
Thank you

Robbed 04-14-2010 09:45 PM

Valter, would it be possible to to create an option so users can exclude forums from new posts in their usercp?. It used to be part of an older hack.

MarceloS 04-15-2010 01:33 PM

Hi thanks for the excellent mod.

One question:

Is it possible to include the blog posts when you look for new posts?
