You can only have one thread creator. So it will randomly choose one of the 5 userid's you enter.

I was going to post as I saw a Welcome Unregistered user even though it is set to show after email activation. So any time frame on this fix?

I have a fix but you will have to add a hook in register.php.

I will release this version when I get done some running I have to do today.

It will require a manual edit and a file upload . This is only if you wish to use the post thread after email verification.

vBulletin should be adding this hook in 4.0.1. So this will be a temp fix.

Charlie98902 12-24-2009 02:15 PM

That's fine no worried just an annoying welcome thread premature :)

Charlie98902 12-29-2009 02:12 PM

I have a question I use HTML markup on usernames on my forum can I add a m in front of username or a different code structure??

Current - $username

Change to $musername

Even this would be nice to use - {musername}

Is that even possible?

Hi;

This would be perfect if we could force the new user to write something in this thread befor it can see the other forums.

I meen in forums that are completly closed to the public access like my.

can you mount something like this ?

v2.02 - Bug fix for double digit post icons and fix for adding the signature to first post.

Known Bugs:
Multiple welcome post if you have it set to post the welcome thread after email activation. There is no known fix for this it happens when a user refreshes the activation page. If vBulletin would add another hook it would fix this error. I have to use register_activate_start but I should use register_activate_complete.

Edit:
It seems vBulletin is working on this with me. So we just may get the hook added to fix this error.

This is really great to hear! :up:

expeditionman 01-05-2010 03:58 AM

out of curiosity, would there be a way to code this so that when the welcome thread is created, where it calls for the $username, is it possible to link the new member's name to their profile?

GeorgeB85 01-06-2010 10:28 PM

Is there any way to create a hyperlink so that the username of the new registered user links to their user profile?

BBR-APBT 01-06-2010 11:16 PM

I will look into that or including the link to the users profile in the welcome message its self.

Like if you turn the option on in the admin cp it will say.

View their profile here: http://www.link.com/to/profile.

I didn't forget about this, this is on the top of my list to get updated. I just busy with work and my own code.
I promise with in the next week it will be updated.

I have also been working on a calendar/forum integration.
I really need that so I can release my new vb4 site.

chingon 01-16-2010 10:08 PM

It doesn't work for me with pl1, I tried it and when I click on registration verification link I get a database error. The same entering in the code. Uninstalled registration link is fine. Uninstalled.

First off upgrade to 4.0.1
Would be nice if you suppled some more details. How can I help you get it working if you do not tell me the error.

For every one else I will be releasing a update for this tomorrow morning will fix all errors but will require manual edit.

Right now I am off to watch the Ravens play the Colts.

Go Ravens

Charlie98902 01-16-2010 10:29 PM

Besides the welcome unregistered this is working fine. Oh and the ability to use html markup on the name.

The Welcome unregistered will be fixed with a manual edit. It already works on my copy.

I am looking to the html markup on the username. I should be able to add that fairly easy.

chingon 01-16-2010 10:46 PM

Sorry, brain fart, I am on 4.0.1 since the day it was released. I forget the error but I don't need help getting it going as I uninstalled it, thanks anyway.

Thats fine with me.

chingon 01-19-2010 05:20 PM

Thanks this is a great idea and I figured out the problem and I reinstalled it but some of the new posts say hello unregistered instead of the users name and several times it has made a welcome post for people that have been registered for a while. Ant ideas? I have it set to post after email activation. Thanks.

Will be posting a update soon. I am almost done with my personal site, Which I have to put first. But I will be updating this real soon.

Sarcoth 01-19-2010 05:58 PM

Nice mod. I haven't tried yet, but I was wondering if this mod will allow me to add some code to the Thread Content boxes like:

if field1!="" { <br><br><font color="gold">RL Name: </font> $field1; }
if field2!="" { <br><br><font color="gold">Game Name: </font> $field2; } etc.

I plan to force new users to fill out certain profile fields and then use this mod to add it to their welcome thread. If it can't be done in the thread content boxes, I'll figure out how to do it in the code.

Thanks.

3DUInc 01-19-2010 06:42 PM

Thanks for the reply, I will set it to post upon registration instead for now but for knowledge I am not having problems with it posting double at that moment but several welcome threads have popped up maybe a month after they activated their account and abour 50% of the welcome threads say welcome "unregistered" instead of the users name. Any idea what would cause that?

Sarcoth 01-21-2010 02:31 PM

I just had one say "unregistered" as well. :/

My plan is to release what I have running on my site now in the next day or two.

It has the fix for the unregistered post.
It has the option to include the introduction if you make the extra profile field.
Hopefully it will have the fix for the double digit icons that I thought I fixed once.

Then a few days after I am going to add the option to pm the member of the new thread.

Dr.osamA 01-24-2010 06:54 AM
