How does this deal with the ads I have on my pages in my normal style. I want to still serve my ads into mobile browsers ... is this do-able?

dartho 05-26-2010 02:55 AM

That'd depend on how you do your ads. It does contain the standard vbulletin ad template hooks.

pckolojim 05-28-2010 04:18 PM

thanks it works fine with the options addon

Didi R. 06-07-2010 06:41 AM

anything i have to change in v 3.8.5?

dartho 06-07-2010 11:38 AM

There are no changes required in this for 3.8.5

Loving the style but I have 2 issues.

1) I would like to give users the option of returning to the default style if they want, I have your plugin that auto detects mobiles and your mobile options plugin although because I have auto detect on it won't allow users to goto pc mode and just returns them to the same mobile style.

2) Seem to be having cache issues with the homepage, several users have the same issue where the homepage is stuck on the first time they visited the site, the whos online info is the same, you have to refresh the homepage every time you first visit the site for it to update.

dartho 06-10-2010 09:27 AM

1. Try this version of the autodetect mod: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...71#post1779571

2. Try adding the following:

Code:

        <meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache" />
the <head> section of FORUMHOME, FORUMDISPLAY, SHOWTHREAD and headinclude (with the other "meta" tags) templates...

I've tried installing it as a product with overwrite on and off and plugin yet it says "Invalid File Specified"?

A user started getting a popup error the other day on his blackberry using this style saying
"Handler could not be removed." They get in every thread now. It comes up if posting a reply, hitting a refresh in a thread, or just clicking into a thread w/o posting. Does not appear when looking at the forum list, or a forum, only when you click into a thread or post in a thread.

I had the 3.7 version of the style, deleted it and replaced it with the 3.8 version just to see if it was of any help, but no, same problem. Don't know of anything that changed on my end- any ideas what this could be?

Great looking mobile style dartho!

0ptima 12-26-2010 10:00 PM

Anyone integrate adsense into this style?

BirdOPrey5 12-27-2010 01:11 AM

Not personally but it wouldn't be difficult to open some of the templates and simply copy and paste your adsense code into place...

I would personally put it in the very bottom of the navbar template or the very top of the footer template.

Put the following html code around the adsense code to center it:
HTML Code:

<div align="center">
Adsense code here
</div>

Mobile ads are different as they dont use javascript. You have to serve a php file to google and google sends you back the appropriate ad based on the mobile device.

I ended up following dartho's instructions found here

Hi dartho,

The style looks great. Using the mobile emulators it seems to work great on most phones. I am having some difficulties with BB and iPhones though. The width of the page doesn't seem to display at 220px (or whatever it's supposed to) but seems to be full size. Any ideas?

I have this exact same problem... Any fix? Nobody answered him...

hurricane_sh 03-01-2011 01:14 PM

Hi-- Can I just upgrade from the current version to the new Lightweight Style for VB3.8.7 or do I need to uninstall the older version first?

Also, is the new version compatible with the "Mobile Style Options 3.8" add-on?

And thank you for the update !!

dartho 05-19-2011 05:27 AM

You can install both side by side. The new style does not make use of the Mobile Style Options add-on.

bestmilan 05-21-2011 01:00 AM

OK, thanks for the clarification.
