Sounds good, we need a clean one of these for vB4.

Hopefully this mod is updated though, there's a lot more features in other mods that do this "cash" type of thing, just none for vB4 yet.

DigitalDark 12-24-2009 10:53 PM

I'm looking foward this fucction, donate points between users, is possible? Thanks

Gleedo 12-25-2009 11:35 AM

I hate to ask a stupid question, but what exactly do people use this mod for?

i cant see the cash after i installed

I also can't see any cash values in the user postbit

EDIT: Ignore that - I just saw the menu block in admincp - then gave points for existing posts and now I see it all.

Many Thanks :)

Yeah, the points row in postbit/etc don't show unless the user actually has a non-zero amount of points.

As far as the donate option that's been asked for - it's a possibility - I'm just somewhat set in my ways of that being part of a store addon (even if it makes slightly more logical sense for it to be a part of the point system).

Hornstar 12-27-2009 09:49 PM

I one day hope this will be the next big point/shop system for VB. Since vbplaza is now looking dead, this could really take off for the 4 series.

zonaenlinea 12-28-2009 12:58 AM

thank prefect

FreeResellers 12-31-2009 09:48 PM

Great looking mod sir, I can't wait for the shop tho.

vbplaza is dead indeed, they ask a lot of money for their mod, but don't even have a bit of money to buy vb 4.0

Boko577 01-01-2010 04:19 AM

When can we expect an update? I really need to give my members something... This needs the shop and the ability to donate ucash to others...

Sarcoth 01-02-2010 05:43 AM

Suggestion: How about a minimum character count for someone to get points for a post. I know you could just give less points for a post and just make it a character count, but I like giving points for the posts too.

I.am 01-02-2010 07:51 AM

update?

04wayne 01-03-2010 12:32 PM

I tried this on my VB4 Gold site, but it didn't work last time...I know its Beta 3 version, but is there any chance that you'll be releasing a version that will be compatible with Gold soon? :)

Link14716 01-04-2010 05:49 AM

As far as I know it works fine with gold. "It doesn't work" doesn't tell me what, if any, issues exist.

Sarcoth 01-04-2010 05:00 PM

It works with Gold. It took me awhile to find where the points are showing. Go to one of your posts, look in your userblock on the left and you'll see it below Join Date and Posts count. Although, I'd like to see it also appear in the My Profile area.

I also would like to see this work with MrZeropage's ibProArcade. Maybe it does, but I haven't found it yet. I need something for my users to spend their points on.

04wayne 01-04-2010 11:28 PM

Where do the points show up?

Anybody? I've installed and enabled the mod on VB4 Gold - but can't find it listed anywhere? Is it listed in the mini profile of the poster? or on their main profile?!

Sarcoth 01-07-2010 03:18 AM

Look at the post prior to your question. I had described where you could find it 6.28 hours prior to you asking.

I have a stand alone store script that I posted about a few weeks ago that I was working on. It's now nearly complete for a beta release on vb.org here that can be integrated with uCash if anyone is interested in testing it out for more bugs before I release it here to a larger amount of users?

Although, for me this is useless since my main goal is to have the point system work with the Arcade. Maybe Mayhem can do something like that? :)

argothiusz 01-15-2010 05:37 AM

Anyone knows if this modification work with 4.0.1? Thanks

Yes uCash works with 4.0.1.

And we shall see on the integration with the arcade ;)

SubeteNoZero 01-17-2010 04:58 PM

I installed this over an old 3.8.4 install of kbank, and set the point data location to that in uCash Options and the points work fine on the forum and all, but they don't seem to come up when I try to edit them via the ACP.
The point value comes up as 0.00000 there, and there is no change on the forum, regardless of what I change that value to.
What would I need to edit to change what database entry that feature edits?

Is it possible to setup this mod to award points when users add tags to threads?
It doesn't look like that from the screenshots.

My users rarely add thread tags, something like this could help motivate them.

talonguy 01-23-2010 09:58 PM

Hey,

I have been admining at a pirated forum for a while, and i finally bought the forum from him and upgraded to a license. I was tired of getting blocked out of all the support and AWESOME code help here. Just wanted to say first of all, thanks. You guys are really gonna help me take my forum to the next level.

What i wanted to do was integrate the ucash system into the blogs system. Allowing users to use ucash to purchase a blog, OR the permission to post to the CMS.

But since i do not want to encourage spammy type posting by offering a known "reward" for making more posts, longer post, ect.

I understand you can set the weights of different factors to discourage shitty posting. i.e. set the good and bad rep point weight and multiplier higher, BUT what i would like to is to have an option where you can hide from the users how much ecash they have.

Really use it like a rating system, to see who has actually earned a blog, or the permissions that they will get.

I would think that with this sytem there would have to be a points breakdown function so that admins or mods (whoever has the permission) can look at a persons ecash account and see how much points were gained for each category. This way you can see if someone who premilinarily "qualifies" for a blog or exclusive permissions really gained their cash in a quality manner.

I really see this as being an effective way you increase board participation and reduce the amount of lurkers. Without basically paying people to spam and write as much junk as possible.

alot of forums are very informational and require content to be on point and decisive. Im affraid if i use ecash as it is that i will be inviting spammers. (plus its a super sweet marijuana niche so i get alot of attention)

Nothing is worse than getting 600 hits a day, and only 20 new posts.

That being said, i think this mod is great. And i also think it is super cool that you guys take the time and code for free so that semi-geeks like me who know nothing of php and code can have proffessional and fully featured and funtional websites.

I love the Open Source REvolution

Can you add a Thumbs UP and Thumbs Down, like in YOutube, for each post and then receive negative or positive Reputation?

Thank you!1

need to make added on.. what you can do is paid per post in the blog etc.

Kamor 01-28-2010 02:14 AM

Does anyone know how to change the uCash's default "Points" to a currency name of your own choosing?

antua al toro 01-29-2010 07:16 AM

I need the ability to pay for post in global categories of blogs and for articles in CMS.

I'm using the "Use Original Treads For Comments in CMS", so I think I can Use uCash to pay for the comments in CMS.
Tested - works.

It's only listed if it is a non-zero amount.

I've installed Point Market + microAuctions - both have the ability to spend uCash.

Hello I have installed Ucash 4.0.x on a fresh Vbulletin install of version 4.0.1.

I followed the install instructions and am not getting a control panel for Ucash. It shows the options in the left hand frame of the admin control panel but no settings when I click on the Ucash options.

Also if I try and assign points i get a DB error that follows

Database error in vBulletin 4.0.1:

Installed and working perfectly on 4.0.1

Please, please and pretty please can we have integration with the arcade? I am willing to pay for this option.

I made the fatal mistake of switching over to vB from IPB thinking there was already a mod for this, as I wanted a good clear out (I much prefer vbulletin from an admin pov) but some of my longer standing members have thrown a hissy since switching over from IPB where playing for points was an option.
