It doesn?t creates an issue, I only wanted to give you an advice to correct it. :)

But it isn?t as necessary, because a search engine can?t crawle this template, because it only for registered members.

Another question to the postbit legacy include, how can i include the link to the garage like carlosacgj wants to have?
Have I overread a passage in the installation manual?

Thanks! I'll add this to our list of items for the next product revision.

The pop-up menu and its links are, technically, visible to everyone, including search engines, visiting your forums if you have your permissions set to allow visitors to view your forums and threads. Keep in mind though that the Garage link only displays if the owner of that post has a garage entry saved and Allow others to view this vehicle is set to Yes.

The real crawlable content is in the garage itself. In the paid version, one of the features included, is a vBSEO sitemap generator add-on to insure that all visible garage content is crawled by the search engines. In our testing we've found the sitemap to more quickly push the content into Google than just the vBSEO custom rewrite rules. In one case a customer created an entry that had some unique keywords in it. Within 24 hours searching for these keywords via Google showed this in the first page of results.

You should only have to do the following:

1. Go to vBulletin Options
2. Select Style & Language Settings
3. Set Use Legacy (Vertical) Postbit Template to Yes
4. Save

Again, in order for the Garage link to display requires that the owner of the post have a garage entry saved and set to visible. I usually test this by creating a test thread myself after building a sample garage for myself and set "Allow others to view this vehicle" to yes.

If it doesn't work for you in this fashion please PM me and I work with you to get it working (please note that I'm traveling right now with family and may not have Internet access for a several hours).

Thanks!

Mark

Thanks

The products are about 80-90% phrased right now. I know that another user was interested in providing a German translation. If both of you would be willing to provide the translations after we fully phrase everything I would like to include that in our general distributions and manage it in our product release cycles. Let me know if you would be interested in this and we'll coordinate a release to incorporate these translations. Feel free to contact me via PM to discuss further.

Thanks!

Mark

carlosacgj 06-23-2009 07:10 AM

in my forum I do not see "garage"

this is your forum
http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/4614/picture3kux.png

this is my forum
http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/1697/123123v.jpg

i do not see "garage" on postbit_legacy or posbit

i have on my "garage" one car

i have on my template the hook "postbit_userinfo_right"

Kolbi 06-23-2009 12:41 PM

You have the same problem as I have. The hook is correctly installed in the template. The plugin is correct, but it doesn?t appears in the postbit...
:)

@nalexandre To translate your garage manually, you have first to translate all phrases and then translate the templates :)

The German translation can I do, tell me then I shall start.

MustangLisa 06-23-2009 01:39 PM

This looks cool, thanks! I'll probably try it on one/all of my auto sites!

mferguson 06-23-2009 01:52 PM

carlosacgj and Kolbi,
It will be difficult to debug the issues you are seeing without being able to see the installation itself and insert some debugging code into the plug-in. Being able to do this would be insure that the plug-in is operating correctly and where the problem may be.

If you would be open to this we can do it one of two ways. The easiest and if you would be comfortable with it (and given I would be able to use the English translation) would be to log into your admincp and add the debugging code to the plugin, do the testing, and determine where the problem lies.

The other method would be to arrange some type of screen sharing and instant messaging session and have you be my remote hands.

As I'll be traveling until June 30 I am not online until each evening (Mountain Time) the first option would be more expeditious and you can remove whatever account you created for me as soon as I have completed the debugging. The admin permissions I would need are:

Can Administer Settings - to access the Garage settings
Can Administer Styles - to access the Garage templates
Can Administer Plugins - to access the Garage plugins

If you want to take the second approach we would have to schedule a time and arrange the technology to communicate effectively.

PM me with your preference and I will work with you to get these issues resolved.

Thanks!

Mark

I don't seem to see where I can enable the garage for user groups.. Please advise...

Kolbi 06-24-2009 04:43 PM

Is only avaivable in the paid plus version.

In this version here every usergroup is allowed to have one car/motorcycle.

Look here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2009/06/4.gif

Usergroup permissions relative to garages is a feature available in the paid version (DTO Garage Plus). For the free version all groups are allocated one garage per user.

This is just a permissions error caused by the images/dto_garage/users directory not being writable by the web server. Change the permissions on this directory using the shell command chmod 0777.

You can find this information in our documentation found on our site under the Support tab. From there:
  1. Click on Documentation
  2. Click on 1.1.0 under DTO Garage
  3. Click on Administrator to expand that help set
  4. Click on DTO Garage vBulletin Options

Please note that this documentation serves both Garage and Garage Plus. The differences that apply to Garage Plus are noted when appropriate.

Thanks!

Mark

vBulletin Options
DTO Garage

The path where user images uploaded to personal garages are stored. The path specified is relative to the vbulletin installation directory. For example images/dto_garage/users.

Note: This directory should be made readable/writable by web server using chmod 0777.

I am a little confused this is what I have /images/dto_garage/images I do not see images/dto_garage/users in my directory..

The upload folder only shows DTO Garage\upload\images\dto_garage\images\no_image ... I don't see users anywhere

Rideharder 06-25-2009 12:46 PM

I totally don't understand why the right permissions are not working.
shell command chmod 0777

I have a motorcycle site would like to really upgrade this

To add a vehicle to the garage go to the UserCP. There is a My Garage section added. Click on Add Garage to enter the vehicle information.

This has been fixed, we had a packaging error that was not creating the /images/dto_garage/user directory. This has been fixed and tested. Sorry for any inconvenience.

The download on this site has been updated.

To those that may have run into this issue with a previous download of the package please add a 'users' dir to the /images/ dto_garage/ directory.

That's what I had to do in order to be able to upload photos. The download has a "/dto_garage/images" folder not the "/dto_garage/users" folder mentioned above.

BTW, the garage link in the postbit is not showing up for me in regular or legacy views.

Edit: Fixed as I was posting :)

Yeah...I was lacking coffee when I wrote that. I have fixed that post and fixed the lack of coffee issue as well.

I would mention this first to the gentleman

usercp.php$session

C.Click on Find.
D.From the results select USERCP_SHELL and click on Edit.
E.Search again for the same text as above, depending on the vBulletin version the result will return a section similar to:
<tr><td class="tcat" nowrap="nowrap"><a href="usercp.php$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[your_control_panel]</a></td></tr>
Note: After selecting Find you may need to scroll within the window slightly in order to display the highlighted search terms.

F.Paste the following text after the </tr>
$template_hook[usercp_navbar_top]
G.Save and exit.

Installed works great, but I am not getting the postbit, I am using the newer postbit not legacy and nothing shows up.
When I go to my garage it shows there with the default postbit (not my modified one) but elsewhere it is not visible
Screencaps

My normal postbit
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2009/06/23.jpg

The postbit that shows up when I open my garage
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2009/06/24.jpg

I would also like to see the option of removing the navmenu item. With just the FAQ it seems to take up space, would like to see the option to move this to the user CP instead.

What mods do you have in the postbit please?

I'd like to test them on our test site and see if there is a conflict of some sort.

I have
[sniper] mood manager 1.2.5 link
last seen online (postbit) link

other then that its just custom code using profile fileds and if statements for a few profile fields like this

Code:

<if condition="$post[field7] != ''"><a href="http://www.myspace.com/$post[field7]" target="_blank">
<img src="images/misc/im_myspace.gif" title="View myspace profile" border="0"></a>

Uninstalled decided just to go with VbGarage 3.5
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...+Garage&page=5

Works excellent good with 3.8

I deftly think the price is a little bit steep for the full version .. if you guys decide to lower the price please PM me.

Do you have a garage entry added for your garage and the entry visible to other members? The link will only show up if you have a garage entry defined and it is made visible to others.

If this is a case, as Nathan mentions, it may be a conflict of some sort with other plugins you may have. Nathan will test these against our installation and we'll let you know what we find.

Thanks!

Mark

Sorry to hear that you decided not to use Garage. The paid version includes a number of SEO features, usergroup permission-based garage allocation, and advanced browse and search functions (these appear in the nav menu along with the documentation for users). Additionally the price also includes free installation service.

One thing that is a little different from other mods is that we have a full-time team of three and all we work on are vBulletin products and plugins. While other products may be cheaper or free you likely won't receive the level of support, documentation, and ability to provide input into what comes in future releases that we provide our customers.

Sometime in the future I hope you'll revisit working with our products and our team.

Best regards,

Mark

Yea I set it to show up, logged in as my test user account and went to my normal users profile page and the garage tab was there and I could view it from there.
I set the 2 plugins to off per the settings they have and still didn't show up. Only thing I haven't tried was disable or uninstall them completly.

*EDIT*
I just went and disabled both plugins via the plugin page and still did not get the garage link. So the only thing I haven't done is uninstall them.
Is there some code I can manually add to my postbit for the link? even if it doesn't have the hoverover function that would be ok with me at this point.

mferguson 06-26-2009 03:58 AM

SonicGT - does your modified postbit template have the following code in it?

Code:

$template_hook[postbit_userinfo_right]
We have a plugin that builds this for the postbit. Can you verify that this is present in your template?

As for the postbit in Garage its really not the standard postbit template. I built a postbit look to the display of the Garage entry but it doesn't use the standard or legacy postbit template to display the information.

Thanks!

Mark

PS - I'm currently traveling and will do my best to follow up to any reply you make while I still have Internet access.

Kolbi 06-26-2009 10:26 AM

You aren?t the only person, who has this problem :)

I think now we are 3-4 :)
That?s the incredible thing, this Template Hook is installed in the template and the plugin is all right.
Perhaps the plugin code or the template, the plugin includes, is not correct?

PS: I got your PN, but I wanted to wait to answer until you are back at home :) Enjoy your holidays!

Kolbi 06-26-2009 10:39 AM

I think I have the failure:
Look into the "dto_garage_postbit_userinfo" template there stands: "$dto_garage_popup_menu" but I can´t find this phrase.

Please review the updated added below in red.

Late last night I think I found the cause of the no postbit garage link issue. It appears that something from our source code control worked its way back into the release. Given that I'm currently sitting in a campground in southwestern Colorado I don't have access to our source code control system. I really need to be able to carefully go back through some of the code versions to find where the problem was introduced and then roll the fix back in. In the meantime I've provided a temporary fix in the way of a plugin. To install this do the following:
  1. Save the attached file, dto-garage-tempfix.xml, to your desktop
  2. Log in to admincp
  3. Go to Plugins & Products > Plugin Manager
  4. For the DTO Garage Postbit Pop-up Menu click delete and confirm the deletin
  5. Go to Plugins & Products > Download/Upload Plugins
  6. Under the section "Import Plugin Definitions XML File" select the dto-garage-tempfix.xml file from your desktop and click Import
  7. You should now see the Garage link in your postbit

As soon as I get back to the office I'll get a complete fix in place for this issue, repackage, upload, and provide an update post to this thread. Thanks for your patience while I'm away from the office

Best regards,

Mark

Update: as 1.1.1 has been released this information no longer applies as it has been included in a new product release.

Kolbi 06-26-2009 04:00 PM

Is only the } at the end of the code different?

Now working perfectly.
Demo: http://www.2-wheel-planet.de/aprilia....html#post8452

SonicGT 06-26-2009 04:18 PM

Works great with the fix, thanks

Love the mod, I like that I don't have to do major mods to styles and templates etc like the alternative.

I do agree that the price for the pro and its extra options aren't worth it for me and my site since alot of my users only have one car, although if it was a more inexpensive cost I would probably pick it up just to have the option.

Great work guys

Kolbi 06-26-2009 04:53 PM

I have a little question. In the template "dto_garage_popup_menu"
Code:

<if condition="$use_username_in_link">
<phrase 1="$userinfo[username]">$vbphrase[xs_garage] </phrase>
<else />
Garage
</if>

I tried this an always "Garage" appears.
The fact that you can?t edit the phrase $vbphrase[xs_garage] (it?s always ?{1}?s Garage) doesn?t makes it senseless?
Wouldn?t it better then instead of Garage would appear {1}?s Garage in the Postbit?

Code:

<if condition="$use_username_in_link">
<phrase 1="$userinfo[username]">$vbphrase[xs_garage] </phrase>
</if>

Doesn?t works? Why?
but
Code:

<if condition="$use_username_in_link">
<phrase 1="$userinfo[username]">$vbphrase[xs_garage] </phrase>
<else />
<phrase 1="$userinfo[username]">$vbphrase[xs_garage] </phrase>
</if>

Does what I want. :) It displays the phrase for example Kolbi?s Garage

Or don?t I understand this code...

Rideharder 06-26-2009 05:11 PM

Just an idea.. Say that you guys lower the price to $80 and allow members to pay for the first year $40 and it satisfied they pay the additional 40 at the end of the year to keep the mod.. I would jump on that bandwagon..

Guys don't give a up remember work is work and better work is hard work..

Anybody uses this saying above remember to quote me on that..lol

Kolbi 06-26-2009 05:29 PM

Is there a comment function or a rate system in DTO Garage?
I think this would be very nice.

I get an MySQL failure message:
