I'm currently using an earlier version of this module.

If I want to update the module to the latest 1.4 version...what's the process?

This looks great but I am having a slight problem. For some reason it's not displaying any of the thread information on the main page. It shows the title, an image, and the author, but no information of what's contained within the thread. I've played around with numerous settings and still can't figure it out. The website is www.thecatacombs.net

Thank you.

Check setting in vBulletin Options -> Article Forum Options -> Article Preview Length

Hi all. First of all this mod was excellent!! Works perfect for what I needed. I am wondering however... I need 2 news type deals (For seperate pages)

I can only select 1 forum to be the news in my admin cp. Is there anyway to do more than 1? as in how could I get 2 to 3 other forurm categories on my site to do the same thing?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry that's not possible

Unzip archive, then

Import .module file in vba admincp and allow overwrite when it asks.

No matter what I set it do, it does not show a preview. The only way I can get it to show anything is by turning the BB Code option on, and then it displays the entire news post. I've re-installed it and it still doesn't work, yet every other option does, so I have no idea what to do, lol.

Any other ideas?

Saviour 07-20-2009 03:07 PM

Shows for all usergroups except Admin. All usergroups checked for this module.

Saviour 07-20-2009 03:43 PM

Decided to remove the module...reverted the af_article template...and reinstall the module.

Your installation instructions state:

Quote:

(there is no need install templates on styles as Article Forums installed templates so you do not need to select 'Style to install templates to')
However, it won't let me install the module unless I do.

Update...

After re-installing module...and selecting templates...still shows for everyone except Admin.

Never mind...just had to go to the Customization page...it then activated the module...all's good.

Try the latest version I've got.

Receiving the following error when I go to import the file...

Quote:

XML Error: Not well-formed (invalid token) at Line 1

klaush 07-29-2009 06:27 AM

Great stuff, thanks. Is it possible to reduce the size of the font?

The default article font size? Edit template af_articlebit and on first line after <div add class="smallfont"

Are you extracting the .zip archive first?

klaush 07-31-2009 07:54 AM

Thanks a lot. That did the trick!

It's still ignoring every setting I use to try and get it to limit the article preview. It is still showing the full articles.

I set the vbulletin options - > Article Forum setting for article preview to 10 and it still shows the full article.

I'm using 1.4b

Saviour 08-12-2009 06:54 PM

bananalive...

On my portal page...I just found out this Recent Articles module fails CSS 2.1 validation. If I set the module to "Inactive" the portal page passes CSS 2.1 validation.

I'm using vBulletin 3.8.4, vBa 3.2.0, this mod...and W3C's CSS validator.

You have a fix for this?

This works for the articles.php page, but it does not increase the number of characters in the module.

Thoughts?

The DaveyG 09-09-2009 11:51 PM

This module is completely ignoring all my settings. Any help?

Kiint 09-11-2009 02:11 PM

Demo Site is now closed.....any chance of some screenshots of what this does?

NTMID8 09-13-2009 04:54 AM

How do I change the number of Articles shown in this module?

Vital Signs 09-17-2009 06:41 PM

I am having a few problems. The mod is showing the full article and I only want to show a small section. Is there any way to fix this?

Im using the img align bbcode found here https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=220610

However when I use this to align my img in the article this mod will no longer pick up the img & display a thumbnail. Any way to fix this?

buurman 10-30-2009 12:14 PM

I would also like a second category to a different forum, but I understand .. not possible.
Any way to cheat the system?? plz??

buurman 10-30-2009 02:00 PM

If your using the "newest first" option in your profile to view the forum, then the layout is busted.

Is it possible to force "oldest first" or something? .. thx!

buurman 10-30-2009 02:19 PM

Jojonas 12-29-2009 06:35 PM

wmlvb 01-16-2010 11:21 AM

I have several news forums that have articles that are RSS feeds from other site. Will this mod conflict with that? Thanks

wmlvb 01-16-2010 11:22 AM

are you going to update to vb 4.0 so we do not have to pay premium to have the vb version? Yours is better anyways.

the great news is that, vBa CMPS v4.0 is now available for vB4:

@bananalive, it would be excellent if you could produce this Add-on for vBa CMPS v4! :)

Thanks!

jmillsss 04-20-2010 09:51 PM

Would anyone know why the article image (thumbnail) only shows when you are logged in? If you are logged out it shows a red X (IE) or no image at all (firefox).
