Other than that I could not see why some of the users can not this plugin get working.

I verified with my host that it is turned on. Still no go, mate! Sorry! Uninstalled.

Did you checked the topic? I made some changes yesterday . I checked it on a live forum ( 8.2.x ) and verified it works.

Really have no clue why you couldn't get it work.

As I noticed before, I got the plugin working, I'll keep digging to find out the problem you have reported. But at this time nothing seems wrong with it.

You're gonna get what your want DobieGillis? :) You just had to be more patient. When everybody noticed the "Page not found" error I thought It couldn't get a connection to the database but It was! The problem is that I have forgotten to mention one other verry verry important thing! You have to put the site adress in one of the new template block.

And if it is not still working, come and shoot me !:D

Edit: The new version covers the template changes. No manuel changes needed with the IMDB template block.

TimberFloorAu 06-04-2009 10:25 PM

LMAO @ come and shoot me !

Right, Im off out for the day to an expo. Will try this later mate.

If you have it installed before It's enought you change that in the template but If you are installing it again I wrote some lines to the plugin and fixed that issue.

TimberFloorAu 06-04-2009 10:42 PM

Okies seems to work fine now ;)

But its not rewriting the urls within the iframe correctly

Plus works in preview mode.

But when we post, we lose the [imdb] link .... and get nothing.

Also in editor the imdb image not appearing.

Yes it isn't showing it creates an IFrame instead. It was mentioned before I'm working on that...

put the image either in images/editor or yourtheme/image/editor folder.

And please attach a screenshot will you ?

Chadi 06-05-2009 04:22 AM

edit: got it working

OP should mention in the install that you have to edit imdb template to add your site's url. I don't know why you did not do that yet when you already acknowledged this in a few posts back.

One thing that isn't working is no thumbnails in the output. Your screenshot shows a thumbnail. Shouldn't that be there?

Thanks

There are two screenshots Chadi, one is for the lite one and the other one for the full version ( paid version )

Yesterday I made a clean Vbulletin installation and tested the plugin which is working perfectly.

Please double check that you gave the right CHMOOD permissions to the image and cache folder ( 7777 )

Other than that nor now I can not see why this plugin wont't work properly.

The version has changed as you noticed, the site adress issue was fixex with the 1.02 version so you don't have to change anything with that.

TimberFloorAu 06-05-2009 08:26 AM

Mate, lets say we do a thread.

And put [imdb]tt187728267[/imdb]

Now, if we click PREVIEW thread, it works.

Soon as we publish, it all disappears.

Any suggestions please. ?

Put The ID without tt it should look lite [imdb]187728267[/imdb]

Forgive me asking, did you set the cache and image folder (imdb/cache, imdb/images) to 777 ?

DobieGillis? 06-05-2009 03:10 PM

where do you put your site url? Sorry, little confused!

Yes. Now have it working without the TT portion. But ghastly black border around the movie info, can this be removed or iframe resized to remove this?

Plus links of actors, as stated in previous posts, isnt linking to IMDB, but via our website, causing bad links: see image

Apparently this has been changed in new product, if you havent uploaded new product, then redownload and do so.

If you havent and cant be bothered lol, its in:

admincp>styles and templates > your style> search for imdb

then change the
http://localhost/something else I cannot remember /
to
http://yourwebsite.com/your forum folder/

TimberFloorAu 06-05-2009 08:40 PM

I think those that have persevered with this and helped bug test should be upgraded to the paid version free of charge ;)

Yeah, Im still of the opinion, that it should work like the youtube mod.

In essence a user should be able to either:

1. click the imdb link, and then type in the film name. And then it retrieves the info from the imdb without the user having to paste the link in.

or.

2. user pastes in the link after clicking the imdb icon, and the script strips the http://imdb.com/tt portion leaving the script to then to work as intended, most of our users would not know to remove the tt part, intuitively.

3. as the youtube mod, but just paste the entire link into a post, and the script, does a total rewrite into this hack, and produces the info as per my image 3 posts up.

It needs to be simplified, and made more user friendly. Lets hope the coder agrees. And can find a work around. My son does a similar thing for www.farkie.com but he is too busy to help, lol

right -o... the file you make the change to add your URL is IMDB, when you search in styles.

original text

http://$bburl/imdb.php?mid=$idfilme

get rid of that $bburl and replace with your www.yoursite.com/forum

it worked for me. That is what was holding me back the past few days. Hope that others can benefit from our frustration with this mod.

I put the changes into the plugin file, you don't have to do it manually. Just reupload the plugin that would solve it.

I got verry tired to say that you propably get even more tired to hear that, but I'm still gonna say it :)

Please rewiev the template changes on your editor template and make sure you have the imdb.gif icon in the images/editor folder. Give it a try by copying into your custom themes editor folder ( yourthem/editor )

You don't have to change anything, you simple reupload the plugin what is going to solve that issue automatically.

As you know this plugin is my very first work that I have shared here in vbulletin.org! So I admit there were some unsolved things at the beginning. I want to thank you, both of you guys, DobieGillis?, TimberFloorAu for putting a positive effor to make things right.

IMDB gif is indeed in our specific styles editor folder.

http://www.yobromofo.com/forum/style...ditor/imdb.gif

TimberFloorAu 06-05-2009 10:42 PM

Seems the issue is in the php file:

imdb/imdbicon.gif line 226

Look at the URL of the hovered link. Its not prefixing the film / actor link with imdb.com but with our site URL.

I set the area blank arround the IMDB area which sometimes in some themes this causes this black thing issue. Yes you can resize the iframe: Admincp - Styles - Your theme - IMDB find in the template

PHP Code:

frameborder=0 width=720 scrollbar=no style=background:#000000; height=320 scrollbar=0></iframe>

you can change the size and reduce is so that the black frame disappears.

I'm still working on the IFRAME thing. It is currently working in a preview mode and creates a code. I don't want that as you mentioned it before. I'll try to fix that.

The cast members info are parsed by the script itself. A new page opens blank where additional information appear.

About the image problem in the editor try also yourtheme/image/editor/imdb.gif

TimberFloorAu 06-06-2009 12:49 AM

Still got black even after changing to #ffffff

Still cannot get IMDB image to display, have thoroughly checked code in editor_toolbar_on

Links still are prefixed from within the iframe with our site url.

This perhaps is because I am using explicit url and not bburl ? perhaps
