Thank you for your bug report, but as for the suggestions I've to say the same as a previous post. This is the way that ticketing is working. Nobody can edit/delete something if you really want to have a reable and trusted support. All posts/replies must remain untouched to avoid arguments like ..."I didn't said it... I said that".
That's why (and only in support script as I know), instead of "Delete", there is "Close" option.

The only that I forgotten to add, is that a technician to be able to change Department/Product. I'll add it with some extra features that I've in mind (eg predefinied replies), but only for members like you. You know what I mean.

When I close a ticket with a comment I end up with an 500 internal server error, what could that be, I see no clue on my screen.

Does anyone know how the priority in the permissions is suppose to look, or be set? do we put 1,2,3,4,5 in there? Can we only use 1 or 4 or do we put all levels in there????

skol 05-12-2009 12:56 PM

I have a problem...I think the functions.php just broke my board..I have blank everything..

Unlike other mods that let members assign a priority (99% of them assign "Emergency") and loose the sense of this feature, I moved the prioriy to usergroups. So, let's say that you've a paid subscription. It's logic to assign to that usergroup, Level1, which means that their tickets will appear always on the top. On the same meaning you can assign tickets from Moderators Level 2, tickets from register member Level3 or Level 4 ect.

As a single word you'll assign 1 number in range 1-5

That's impossible. Have you got any error message?

skol 05-12-2009 04:10 PM

not a sausage..i'm not saying it's the mod at the moment just that everything went blank once added..And we are struggling to get a back up on..

I added this, and went ahead and set up all categories and so forth, but I dont see any where on my forum to go to it. I did go to mydomain.com/support.php but then it told me I didn't have permissions, which doesn't make sense since I am the administrator/owner of the forums..any advice?

yotsume 05-19-2009 05:59 PM

This looks great. Now all it needs is a real billing and payment system!

Please tell me you will add a billing and payment system to this!?

GeorgeB85 05-19-2009 06:00 PM

For some reason, I just logged into a few user accounts, and none of them can access the support system.

GeorgeB85 05-19-2009 06:30 PM

Ok, I figured out how to make it all appear, by editing the permissions. I have departments set up, but none of them are showing up in the support system when you click on new ticket nor does priority level show up...

To solve this, click on "yes" when it says "Do you want to use products" via options in admincp.

Good mod! Definitely should come in better handy then just setting up a support forum.

How come when the support system sends out emails after someone sends a support ticket, the from email address is "the@" whatever domain name the recipient is? For instance, if someone has a yahoo email the sender will be "the@yahoo.com" but shouldnt it come from the domain the forum is on? Any way to change it?

Andyrew 05-19-2009 08:57 PM

Bug: If you disable products it stops the department from working, when i disable products the display then is wrong and also departments won't show the drop down list of departments.

Why to do something like this while vBulletin has it ready? Let me explain. Let's say that you want to have a paid support. Just add a usergroup eg Support, then add a paid subscription which will upgrade members to the usergroup Support, and finally give permissions to that usergroup to access Support. Much more, you can assign different support priority by usergroup.

Priority level assigned by the user is useless as everybody counts his issue emergency. That's why I moved the priority according to usergroup. In my opinion this has more sense.

Hello i have a problem with this mod, i don't know if this has been mentioned in previous threads but when i try to access "support.php" it tells me:
Quote:

nightowl, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
However i am the root admin, i will keep fiddling with it, and great idea marked as installed :D

Being Administrator doesn't means that you can access it if you haven't setup usergroup permissions. Without assigning these permissions all usergroups can do nothing.

As this email is going to admin or moderator, didn't paid attention to make it configurable. But if you want to change it, then open support.php and find:
Code:

$message = "A new reply has been post. Please get action.";
Change it as you like, save and upload

I just released in my site version 1.3.0 with follow features:
  • Added a fancy feature which shows the average response time of last 30 tickets. Just like in vbulletin.com
  • Added an option where admin can setup after how many hours of client inactivity a ticket will auto close using cron.
  • Now technicians and ticket owners can delete a ticket

Very nice product been looking for this for a long time. Just got done testing it i love it. Only 1 thing i would love to see is some kind of notice near the ava pic under 'New Post' letting people that they got a reply on there ticket. That would be a A ++ but you get a A+

great product keep up the good work

I received the following error when submitting a ticket:

Unless if it was a temporary server down (PHP) or your mailserver, it's the first time that I'm seeing a PHP configuration without (or maybe wrong configuration) mail() function. As you can see in the message, the function is correct just there is no connection to mailserver. I think is better to contact your Hosting provider.

The server wasn't down. It is a Windows server, so maybe that is the problem? All of my other apps and hacks are able to send mail properly.

jtslater 05-23-2009 11:52 PM

I have not installed the product yet, curious to know if there is an ability to have vBulletin open a ticket in this helpdesk when a user reports a thread. Rather than sending the mod team an e-mail, would love to have a ticket opened in this helpdesk.

I get the following error when trying to overwrite the xml product file during an install:

Quote:

(it goes on for a LONG time)

MySQL Error : Unknown column 'phrasegroup_microsupport' in 'field list'

Any ideas what the problem is?

Seems that you messed up your system. Try to repair/optimize your database.

Yes, I can confirm this.

When I disable Product section in admincp (Use Products), then Department menu is just blank in form for new ticket and fields for Products contains: "; ".
