FYC Racing 05-01-2009 07:00 AM

Thanks mikey... got everything working now with the images, but for some odd reason i lost my "community" & "quick" links in the navbar. any idea?

FYC

FYC Racing 05-01-2009 07:26 AM

fixed it... imported the wrong xml.

mikey1991 05-01-2009 07:27 AM

You might've reverted the header template somehow.

Try reimporting the skin and doing your image path edits first before messing with the header.

EDIT: Okay then

solidlink 05-01-2009 02:47 PM

hi mikey, seems like i got problems again =\ (all of a sudden, when i logged out it changed to vbulletin's default design, thus i uploaded one of the new xml files but the entire thing kinda got screwed up *rolleyes*

would you mind helping me? i'll drop u a pm..

mikey1991 05-01-2009 03:37 PM

Done, you just needed to go to the vBOptions -> Style and Language Settings -> Default Style -> Set to SimpleBlue

ArchangelX 05-22-2009 03:18 AM

Dumb question, nevermind! Mahalo! Great looking style!

mikey1991 05-22-2009 05:59 AM

Thanks for the Install :)

ArchangelX 05-22-2009 09:39 AM

I hadn't installed it on my own forums, but I did install it for a friend's board. I'm waiting to hear back from him on whether he likes it or not. :)

I do know that several hawaii forums love this style though. ;)

mikey1991 05-23-2009 04:37 AM

That is good to know, do you happen to have any links? I love to see it in action

Sofia 05-26-2009 09:11 PM

Hi Mikey.
I don't use this style but very very nice. I like it ;) I click Installed ! :)

Trevor Hannant 05-26-2009 10:14 PM

Would love to install one of these but I'm getting a ZIP file corrupted message every time I download... :(

mikey1991 05-27-2009 06:29 AM

Sorry about that Trevster, I've downloaded it on XP, Vista and the Mac and all work fine, I'm really wondering here. Are you using WinRAR, Maybe I should invest in winzip, and use that to create my zips..

Anyway, There was an alternate download location listed, earlier in the thread, or you could go to this link:

http://mikeydesigns.co.uk/simpleblue.php

If you do download from there, please remember to click installed, thanks.

Trevor Hannant 05-27-2009 07:13 AM

Sorry, missed that link mikey.

Downloaded fine from your site this morning (still got error when downloading from here) so thanks for that.

Yeah, using WinRAR on XP Pro SP3 here. Tried the download with IE7 and FF3 but same message on both.

Thanks for prompt assist!

mikey1991 05-27-2009 07:36 AM

No problems, Trevster, I'm here to help matey. Glad you like the style, thanks for using it ;)

G_Gekko 05-30-2009 05:22 PM

I want to make a request. Would it be possible to get a version of PRO with a left or right sidebar?

mikey1991 05-31-2009 12:28 AM

a sidebar? It.. could be done.. but.. It would take time and I would have to learn..

G_Gekko 05-31-2009 01:00 AM

It would make a great theme into an even better one.

Would this work with your theme http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=156775

mikey1991 05-31-2009 01:50 AM

I shall attempt this, for you.

mikey1991 05-31-2009 04:38 AM

inserting any sort of sidebar is breaking the style completely.

almohd 05-31-2009 08:32 AM

Thank you

G_Gekko 05-31-2009 03:19 PM

Ok thanks for you effort. I really appriciate it.

Fergal C 06-01-2009 03:00 PM

I'd like to increase the vertical distance between the bottom of every post and the start of the member's forum signature. How could I do that?

mikey1991 06-01-2009 04:37 PM

In the postbit or postbit_legacy of the style (depending on which you're using)

find;

PHP Code:

        <!-- sig -->
            <
div>

__________________<br />

$post[signature]
            </
div>
        <!-- /
sig -->

and replace it with

PHP Code:

        <!-- sig -->
            <
div>
                <
br /><br /><br />__________________<br /><br /><br />

$post[signature]
            </
div>
        <!-- /
sig -->

I can not seem to get the controls to show up when posting a new thread and when posting a reply to a thread, any suggestions on how to get them to show up?

Fergal C 06-02-2009 08:04 AM

Thanks Mikey, an extra <br /> in the PostBit Legacy worked perfectly.

Also, whereabouts in the templates can I find the anchor text for the "Home" link in the Nav Bar. I want to change it to something a little more search engine friendly.

I've found code like "$vboptions[forumhome]" in the NavBar template, but can't find the anchor text.

Thanks again!

I cannot understand what you mean, do you have a screenshot?

It's in the header template, to make it in the position it's in.

You'll need to find

PHP Code:

<li class="current_page_item"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php$session[sessionurl_q]">Home</a></li

and replace the "Home" with your SEO friendly words. All the navbar options are there too

ALSO, I HAVE NOTICED PEOPLE REMOVING MY COPYRIGHT, THIS IS ILLEGAL AND THERE IS ONLY ONE FORUM AUTHORISED TO DO SO, AS THEY HAVE DONATED. IF YOU HAVE REMOVED MY COPYRIGHT, PM ME AND I WILL TELL YOU WHAT CODE TO PUT BACK IN OR COME TO AN ARRANGEMENT.

As you can see from the image there is no controls at the top or the right of the box. Everything is turned on in AdminCP. Forgot to mention I have the pro version of your template installed.

This is not an error, it's default! As you can see, Even in the default vB Style, there are no dropdowns up in the top right corner where it says the Thread: "Threadtitle"

The dropdowns on forumdisplay (IE: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=1) work! ;)

Thanks for your kind words. Glad you liked it. My support for this template will last as long as I can do it, its upgrrading to vB4 will depend on what the new templating system is like.

ceege.net 06-02-2009 07:08 PM

I am not talking about drop downs or anything like that. There is no editing options across the top like there is in your demo, or the smilies showing up.

The bold, italic, underline, center , adding a link and all that stuff across the top of the box and the smilies... that is what I am referring to.

The error does not show on my forum.

Heres how you'd fix, (the template shouldn't be editted in my style)..

Go to; Style Manager > SimpleBlue Pro > Edit Templates (dropdown) > editor and REVERT that template.

ceege.net 06-03-2009 02:30 AM

OK.. I have figured out it is a problem with my install, not with your style. It is not showing up on any style I have installed.

mikey1991 06-03-2009 03:31 AM

Glad to hear it, did you try what I suggested up there?

I figured out what it was... i feel like such an idiot about it too.

It seems there is a setting in the user control panel.... Edit Options.. then Miscellaneous Options... there is a setting in there.... it was turned off there. I had been pulling my hair out all day about this and it was a simple little setting in the UCP.:eek::eek:

mikey1991 06-03-2009 07:33 AM

Hah, No worries, happens to the best of us :) :)

No templates have mandatory changes since vB 3.8.2.

If you are using 3.8.3, for now, click "Ignore Style Version".

I shall do these non mandatory changes (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showp...97&postcount=2) at the weekend and add a 3.8.3 XML.

Cheers guys.

mikey1991 06-13-2009 12:36 PM

"SimpleBlue Pro WITH SIDEBAR" : http://demo.parlancia.com/SimpleBlue...barMikeyDe.png
*4 Sidebar blocks with potential to add heaps more and A dynamic news fader block! (See second post on how to edit), Spacing between Categories and posts, big bugfix and code cleanup.*

Has been completed and added.

See first post on how to edit the current sidebar blocks.

All other skins upgraded to 3.8.3 also.

g00gl3r 06-16-2009 01:30 PM

I didn't think this design was well done. Tables didn't line up, and the 'w/sidebar' just threw lots of code on the homepage. Uninstalled!

mikey1991 06-17-2009 01:28 AM

g00gl3r, There must be some conflicting mod then, as this works fine on my live site and on my test site. two installs of vBulletin (one clean and one modded) cannot lie.

You're welcome to leave constructive criticism but please just don't shit talk on my work.
