Hi I just sent an email but would like to ask others, if "installation" means just uploading the directory? Because thats as far I got.

vbreal 03-12-2009 06:03 PM

**edit**some how i missed it haa

vbreal 03-12-2009 06:28 PM

when this is in the app store how will this work.

how will users configure your app to work with our specific forums?

im guessing they download and install the app. then they enter configuration information for our specific site.

what information would that be?

so basically the app can be used for multiple forums by just changing what ever information we use to connect to any particular forum?

vbreal 03-13-2009 01:16 AM

email sent

i noticed in the zip theres an include folder, but i placed the contents in the INCLUDES folder instead.

hi you should upload the directory "mobiquo" to your forum root directory, don't put files in your INCLUDES directory!!

I love mazdaspeed! bring it on!

MikeWarner 03-17-2009 07:42 AM

I really want this - according to Google Analytics, my site currently gets 10,000 page views a month from iPhone users, this app will help loads - plus I have an iPhone myself!

installed and email sent.

vbreal 03-17-2009 08:58 PM

when i tried to sync the application onto my iphone it said it was not installed because it could not be verified.

any idea on what the issue is?

Did you drag the .mobileprovision file and the Tapatalk App into your iTunes library at the same time? If not, I'd try starting again from scratch.

Haltech 03-18-2009 06:45 AM

Can i get the iphone app emailed to me? ive got 2 users i want to use for testing on this across both of my servers.

Thanks

thanks for the suggestion, there was a mix up between myself and peter

vbreal 03-19-2009 04:18 PM

Pretty cool app, I guess I didn't grasp it was going to be a network of other forums also.

whats the time frame on being able to reply and start a new topic.

I have attached two photos.

When I try to view a thread I get the error that displays in the photo.jpg image

If I exit the app with out logging out and come back in I get the no permission error in the photo1.jpg

If I log out and log back in I get the error in photo.jpg

Also the app crashed a number of times on me.

duplu 03-19-2009 09:16 PM

I've got this working with my forum now and it's pretty cool. Much quicker for browsing posts than loading my site through safari and they've added some new features in the newest release. You can't post at the moment but you can see how the app is being developed and I'm sure this will be in a release in the not too distant future.

i was able to see ur forum fine as a guest. hmm what version of vb are you running?

yellowpeter 03-22-2009 04:06 AM

we are really glad that you guys like it.

once the current features are stablize, we will add the create/reply topcis/posts function, hopefully in a week or so.

yellowpeter 04-01-2009 08:42 AM

create topic and reply posts will be available in next release. :-)

sdsvtdriver 04-02-2009 05:42 AM

As much as I'd like to provide some useful feedback about bugs or problems, I just can't find any! Everytime I use the application to browse my forums, it works beautifully.

Are there any plans for supporting BBCODE? I have AME installed and it shows the BBCODE instead of the picture/video link.

yellowpeter 04-07-2009 06:02 AM

Thanks everyone, the Pilot forums recruitment is now closed due to overwhelming responses so far - the objectives of this pilot is to have a dry-run of the service on real server and we feel that so far with about 30 forums, it came to a point that it has fairly good representation of different kind of forums (and different server configurations) with different languages.

We have just released the Create / Reply functions support to all the pilot forum owners and is awaiting for further inputs from them and we expect to finish the beta in next two weeks.

Thanks again for everyone's support, stay-tuned to the official release. :)

btotw 04-16-2009 06:20 AM

Just want to say that this app is amazing work. Absoultely outstanding...!

yellowpeter 04-16-2009 02:34 PM

Hi all,

While the pilot is closed, we thought we should share the Tapatalk iPhone app to all forum owners who are interested to have first-hand access to the iPhone app before it releases on App Store with access to participated pilot forums only.

If you are interested to try this out please refer to the beta Tapatalk Support Forum at:
http://www.tapatalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9

Apple restricted 100 devices on ad-hoc and we have occupied over 30 now, so hopefully we can make use of all slots for this event.

vbreal 04-27-2009 03:38 PM

I am really loving this app. Ive been looking and looking for a dev to develop an app for my site. now i don't have to. I am looking fwd to the updates. i think the one i am looking fwd to most is uploading pics directly from the iphone. hahaa i never expected that.

i love how when there is multiple pics in a post. you can view the pics just as you would pics in your album by just swiping to the next pic.

What other updates are planned?
what updates are in development presently?

Just hit me, how does this app handle private areas? im guessing it follows the security settings in VB. i haven't noticed other wise.

When should we expect this to be released in the app store? My iphone users are looking fwd to it after i showed some screen shots of what my site would look like using the app.

yellowpeter 04-29-2009 04:05 AM

Hi vbreal,

Thanks.. yes for the security setting, it inhertis everything from vb system so you don't need to tweak anything specificly for iPhone users.

We are working on the Private Messaging feature where user can read/response to PM directly on the iPhone app just like they response to SMS messages.

We have submitted the app to Apple and is awaiting for final approval (you know their mess if you are into the iphone app scene). We have yet to announce the pricing but it will be a subscription-based model (i.e. paid subscription for forum owner). the iphone is free to download and is not ad-supported.

yellowpeter 05-13-2009 06:07 AM

Meanwhile we are waiting for Apple final approval before it shows up the iPhone app store, you can visit http://www.tapatalk.com/ if you can't wait to learn more about this solution. Also in there you can request a ad-hoc app to install manually to your iphone if you keen to try it out first hand.

Wonksta 05-16-2009 09:55 AM

Wow. Can't wait for this thing to be released so I can installed it on my forum!

DeeperImage 05-18-2009 02:47 PM

Definitely interested. Thanks!

sflmkv 05-21-2009 10:55 PM

This is already available, I purchased and I'm testing it.... but for some reason on my forum I'm getting a parser error on every post. :(

yellowpeter 05-22-2009 04:38 AM

Hi, I suppose it should be work now? :)

sflmkv 05-22-2009 03:54 PM

yes it does work... I noticed it's not on the App store anymore. My users are whining abut it lol

yellowpeter 06-14-2009 02:48 PM

Can't believe we are still waiting for Apple.

The upside is that we fixed even more bugs and the private message feature is close to finish (minus the Push Notification part). Yesterday we sent out the latest stable built to some 30 forum owners to trial.

If any of the forum owners here still interestred to join and get a copy of this app with your own forum, you can now go to add your forum to the list to be visible on iPhone.

the purpose of the list is to allow zero configuration at iPhone to connect to your forum - in fact once the app established connection to your forum, it is a direct data connection between your device and your forum. In case you are security/privacy minded.

also we are adding an option that your forum is only be "searchable" and is hidden from the public directory, if you need this option, drop us an email and we can do it manually for you.

yellowpeter 06-22-2009 06:39 AM

Hi all,

While still no update from Apple (probably because of the OS 3.0 launch that casues the delay). Here are some update from development perpective:

Subscription Management is added and completed. You will be able to delete your subscription (only "Topic" type of subscription is supported in the mean time)

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...1&d=1245655212

And now you will be able to subscribe to any topic you want to follow:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...1&d=1245655212

Also notice the little "red badge"? Yes we are also getting close to finish off the Private Messaging.

yellowpeter 06-26-2009 01:58 PM

Finally Apple has approved it and it is appearing in the app store starting from now.

http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/M...307880732&mt=8

Currently this release is limited to U.S. app store only and we will release it to the rest of the world in next release (estimate around 10-20 days from now judging from Apple recent turn-around time)

I hope you all give it a try and we are constantly improving this app - your feedback is greatly appreciated.

What happening next is we are working on a iPhone Analytic for your forum so you can see how many users has been accessing your forum thru iPhone and also their average time on your forum etc. This will help to complement what you already have such as Google Analytic.

ericgtr 06-26-2009 02:52 PM

This seems like a nice application and I can appreciate all the work that went into it, my only question is why we are forced to join into the network of forums. Is there a specific reason that it can't be released as stand alone for individual forums?

Darkwaltz4 06-26-2009 05:28 PM

well the whole point is that the app communicates with the plugin installed on your site to load only the data it needs (like the list of forums, thread text etc). in order for the app to know which sites have the required plugins installed, a network is maintained. as part of that, you can fill in some info like title and an icon.

it cant be a standalone for individual forums because it would be a terrible waste. if each site had its own app it would mean way too much for the iphone user to pick the right one, you would have an unendless list of apps to maintain, and it just makes more sense that the one app can visit any sites on the network. not to mention that only a couple existing users would get the single-site version and you would have to pay repeatedly to get a different site's clone.

i do hear though that the next app version will allow you to choose which mode to start when you open up the app - which could be your favorites page, and thus list the site(s) you go to more deliberately without having to search around for them every time. in effect "branded" to just a single forum, without having to do the mess outlined above.

besides, iphone users curious about the app might not even know about your site, but find it on the network. do you want new visitors in addition to existing ones, or just the existing ones?

In addition to DarkWaltz mentioned I can add few more points:

- You can "join" the network but you can set it as "Search Only" where no one can see your forum on the network unless they explicitly type your forum name
- You can hide from the network anytime you want

The whole point of network is to provide better UI experience, while generating more new visitors to your forum. At the same time we provide option for you to "hide" it from the network where only you fans can find it.

Just check out the http://www.tapatalk.com/directory then you can get an idea how it works :)

yellowpeter 06-28-2009 03:17 AM

The version submitted to app store is 1.2 which contains bug fixes and major speed improvement.

The development team is working on the 1.3 version that *hopefully* can finish Private Messaging on time.

Our goal is to evetually get to the Push Notification where Private Message / Subscribed Topics push to your iPhone as soon as it is updated. But this will need more testing as it involves much more complicated setup and additional stress to our server.

yellowpeter 07-01-2009 12:41 AM

We have released the vb MOD 0.9.12 as a on-going minor update. Here are some of the highlights:

- Compatible to more plugins - if you have previously disabled some plugins to make it work with Tapatalk, you can try re-enable it and see if this release help.
- Minor character encoding fixes

Again the latest discussion can be found at http://www.tapatalk.com/forum

yellowpeter 07-14-2009 03:08 PM

No love for iPhone mod? :o

Anyway I have updated the screenshot to include the latest and greatest:

1) Full Private Message support
2) Quote reply
3) Faster load-time and improved session management
4) Full screen image viewing
5) Board Statistic
6) Who's online

And.. Push Notification is in full stream development!!
