Doesn't work here either.

Several mods installed, and I'm not going through the tedious work of removing them one by one to test it.

You can edit the sk-timer_countdownbit to add more styling.

If I wanted to add bold to this, how would I go about it?

Also - If I wanted to assign a specific usergroup to a have same countdown, how would I do that?

Seems to work OK in Chrome and Internet Explorer.

The counter causses issues in Firefox. In my vBulletin forums (if counter is active) I can't use "quick reply" anymore. For the moment I disabled quick reply because my users love the counter, but I hope for a solution soon :)

Apart of this: I still did not figure out how to translate the display from 700 days 12 hours to 700 Tage 12 Stunden (German).

Code:

if (typeof(DisplayFormat)=="undefined")
  DisplayFormat = "%%D%% Tage, %%H%% Stunden, %%M%% Minuten, %%S%% Sekunden.";

I tried in sktimer.js but it did not work. Any idea?

I also would like to edit the design (red/green, bold) but I don't know how. Perhaps anybody can let me know (exactly) where and how? Thanks!

Merrit

Nice little mode - thanks

Clicks Installed :)

odln018 02-25-2009 05:04 PM

I can confirm that the counter breaks the quick reply feature.

Version 1.1 fixes this.

meissenation 02-26-2009 11:55 AM

I can confirm that the update fixes it. Thanks!!!

DobieGillis? 02-26-2009 02:20 PM

OMG! The 1.1 fixed my Firefox quick reply issues. I was going nuts trying to figure out the problem. Thank you!

Mechelaar 02-28-2009 11:39 AM

Hallo,

thanx for this very nice mod. My UserĀ“s love it. Works fine with 3.8.1

msvi007 03-01-2009 06:11 AM

Our members love this mod and it works great, thanks.

It would be great to allow the members to add their own style to them, could be as simple as Bold, color, etc.

Thanks

Where would I put this in the template and how? Sorry, newbie. I would like it smaller, and bold. It's too large and no more than two lines. :)

odln018 03-04-2009 05:09 PM

Ok, this did resolve my quick reply issue, however, now the message before specified time is not being displayed.

Thoughts?

Ljusya 03-06-2009 03:51 AM

Good things.. but is it possible to display counter with Year and Month
For example
I have car: 3 Years 6 Month 5 Days

SgtSling 03-09-2009 07:30 AM

I installed this when it came out, but I am now running vbulletin seo
and I can't get it to work at all.
I uninstallled it and reinstalled it.. to no avail. All the files are there.
All the settings are correct.
I have plugin hooks enabled.. but nothing shows up.
Any clues?

Sooner95 03-09-2009 08:22 PM

EZ install, works great!

cherylferraro 03-10-2009 07:21 PM

I love this idea but the mod won't work with vbseo enabled. When I disabled vbseo it worked fine.

I found this over on the vbseo forum about a conflict with a previous countdown mod that serves a different purpose but I thought the problem may be the same. Apparently analytics created the problem but when I tried disabling analytics in vbseo to see if that would fix this mod it still didn't work.

http://www.vbseo.com/f23/attachment-...wn-timer-8068/

Any ideas how to get this mod to work with vbseo?

Older versions of vBSEO create issues with AJAX in vBulletin 3.75 and 3.8x. I've seen one installation where the problems that created were specific to Firefox - everything worked fine in IE and Opera. If this sounds like it might be your problem, you'll need to go to vBSEO to download a patch.

cherylferraro 03-10-2009 08:16 PM

Thank you for the suggestion.

I have upgraded to vbseo 3.3.0 RC2, the latest release.

Still no luck getting the mod to work though.

Samsine 03-12-2009 04:21 PM

Hi,
install, a wonderful feature ... but
Quote:

This product allows users to set up a countdown timer or countup timer
where can I set up the countup timer?

I set the countdown time on
Quote:

countdown start
0 Tage, 0 Stunden, 1 Minuten, 4 Sekunden.
But after the countdown time, i refresh the site and it started the countup time :confused:
Quote:

countdown end
0 Tage, 0 Stunden, 0 Minuten, 33 Sekunden.
Quote:

countdown end
0 Tage, 0 Stunden, 3 Minuten, 49 Sekunden.
is there a solution?

where can I deactivate the countup?

regards

wmlvb 04-11-2009 06:01 PM

wmlvb 04-11-2009 06:05 PM

wmlvb 04-11-2009 07:55 PM

anybody have a solution? would love to have this mod working!

Mr. Burns 04-12-2009 11:06 AM

When I click on Edit Countdown/Countup in User CP it brings me to my mainpage and not to timer.php.

yotsume 04-13-2009 02:45 AM

Live Countdown Stopped?

This mod is great but...

I just noticed that the live countdown is no longer working and it was working perfectly.

The only change I made was to edit so it had the countdown on a single line.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall and same thing the live countdown doesnt change unless the page is refreshed... and yes I checked the admincp settings.

How can I fix this?

THANKS!

Chrisg20 04-18-2009 05:52 PM

Thanks, going to hold onto it.

MindStar 04-28-2009 08:55 AM

I have this installed and the countdown works. Next question is, how do I remove a countdown from my profile? It's now counting up past the event date that I set.

alfaowner 05-26-2009 10:08 PM

too buggy and no usergroup support, crashes firefox also! Ditch it or users will ditch your site!

yotsume 05-27-2009 12:24 AM

Funny but it works fine on my site and does NOT crash Firefox. The only issue is the countdown is no longer live and requires a page refresh which I have posted about already with zero reply or support.

rinkrat 06-06-2009 05:34 PM

Uncached templates: sk-timer_countdownbit (1)

How do I cache it?

jarosciak 06-07-2009 01:08 AM

Very nice, but it collides with my forum's color scheme. Any way to change the color directly through a menu in Admin panel or to adopt the forum color scheme automatically? That would be a very nice feature to this fantastic addon.

Where in here would you edit to change color or font?

<script language="JavaScript" src="clientscript/sktimer.js"></script>
<if condition="$puser[skunixdate] > TIMENOW">$puser[sktitle]<else />$puser[skdescription]</if> <br />

TargetDate$post[postid] = "$puser[skdateline]";
<if condition="$vboptions[sktimer_counter_active]">

<else />
CountActive$post[postid] = false;
</if>
skpostid$post[postid] = 'cntdwn$post[postid]';
CountStepper$post[postid] = $puser[direction];
LeadingZero$post[postid] = false;
DisplayFormat$post[postid] = "$puser[skformat]";

startSkTimer(TargetDate$post[postid],FinishMessage$post[postid],CountStepper$post[postid],LeadingZero$post[postid],DisplayFormat$post[postid],CountActive$post[postid],TargetDate$post[postid],skpostid$post[postid]);

Well, if the Edits worked for you, how about you post how and what you changed so others can also benefit from it. ;)

This is what I did:

- admincp
- Styles & Templates
- Open: sk-timer_add
- Copy the code of sk-timer_add template
- Open FrontPage Code view and paste in the code of sk-timer_add template
- Switch to Frontpage Design view
- Edit a color of entire table to match the background of your forum
- Edit color of text to contrast your background

ps. if you don't have FrontPage, you can use Microsoft Free Trial of Expression Web:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Anyways, this is what it was before I've changed it:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...hmentid=100246

This is what it looks like now:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...hmentid=100260

I hope I've given you at least some kind of a help, but that is in a nutshell how I went about it. Enjoy.

socalsoccer 06-07-2009 08:46 PM

admincp
- Styles & Templates
- Open: sk-timer_add
