Oooh.... you mean you tried playing a game at "v3Arcade.com" -- Got it now. Was that as a guest or as a registered user? I'll check the permissions accordingly.

Thanks for the update and bringing it back. Been running since the 3.0 days I believe and thru all the updates, it has come right along. Fixed the security token error way back to keep it going.

This, IMO, has always been a bullet proof system to use and wouldn't consider anything else. It's the coding that has done it for me from the start.

Booth 02-18-2009 06:50 PM

As soon as a converter from IPB Arcade is released, I'm converting back.

By the way, for those of us who purchased branding free from John do we have to pay for this again?

Subah 02-18-2009 09:03 PM

Thank you , i think i saw you in Photopost forum am i right :)

KW802 02-18-2009 10:52 PM

@Glorify: Welcome back! :cool:

@Booth: No, if you have a branding free license already then you're all set to go. Even though it is a new team working on the project we are trying to pick up the pieces right where John left off. That means your account over at v3Arcade.com should still be there with the branding free license associated with it. If you have problems getting into your account, send me a PM somewhere and I'll take look.

@Subah: Yep, I get around. I have not been active over at PP for a number of reasons but I can be found there as well.

rapidphim 02-18-2009 11:18 PM

KW, I was trying to play as Guest ....

Vinyljunky 02-19-2009 09:50 AM

Amadeus Cho 02-19-2009 01:33 PM

Has anyone else had problems installing it on a 3.8.1 ?

g0dfather1984 02-19-2009 02:46 PM

When trying to import a game, it will direct me right to a blue blank screen and there will be no game.

Yes, I have the chmods needed set to 0777.

Any thoughts?

SSG.D 02-19-2009 02:57 PM

Just want to say thanks, works well on my fresh install of 3.8.1,,

macc 02-19-2009 07:41 PM

hello!

i some have ibproarcade and will have v3arcade also - what we must do to get both to works on same forum?

regards

macc

TheComputerGuy 02-20-2009 12:50 AM

I'm coming back when the converter is out.

ZamiraPagan 02-20-2009 11:20 AM

The challenge system seems to not be working. I've looked everywhere for some sort of button/link to challenge someone. I've made sure options were on and allowed for it.

Amadeus Cho 02-20-2009 01:15 PM

I get the following error when I try to upload the plugin:

Warning: require_once([path]/includes/class_database_analyse.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/admincp/plugin.php(1995) : eval()'d code on line 3

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/ummahcit/public_html/forum/includes/class_database_analyse.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/ummahcit/public_html/forum/admincp/plugin.php(1995) : eval()'d code on line 3

Can anyone help ?

Thanks

KW802 02-20-2009 02:34 PM

@Macc: I have not looked at IBP for some time, but last time I did there were conflicts in regards to file & table names. Getting both on the same system would require some changes to the code in either one of the two products.

@ZamiraPagan: I've responded over at v3A but in short... you can find a "Challenge" button in the postbit of somebody who is a champion. I have it on the To DO list to make it easier for people to start challenges.

@Amadeus: When you say you're uploading... what exactly are you uploading? Do you mean you get that error when trying to import the product-v3arcade.xml file or .... ?

@MissKalunji & The Computer Guy: An updated converter is in the pipeline. The old converter that Brian/Tigga released needs to be updated to handle v32 games.

@Godfather1984: Please clarify what steps you're taking when importing the games.

KW802, that's right.

Warning: require_once([path]/includes/class_database_analyse.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/admincp/plugin.php(1995) : eval()'d code on line 3

1. I'm on a 3.8.1

2. installed the Arcade

3. When I go to 'default user settings panel' for the Arcade, it says

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 4080

4. On my navbar when I click on 'Arcade' it says

404 Not Found
The requested URL /forum/arcade.php does not exist.

Is anyone else having the same problem ?

Thanks

Go into your usergroup permissions, set the permissions for the group(s), and then try the setting.

Are your vB forums in the /forum folder? Did you verify that you uploaded arcade.php to your /forum folder?

Whoops.... I understand what you mean now. I thought you meant in general 'whats new' and not 'why is the mod flagged as updated' in the settings. :o

1.0.8 is the current version; the 'updated' status was triggered because I added Allan's French translation as a file attachment.

It looks great.

I've been having some frustration with the layout of the ipbarcade, as it isn't the most user-friendly, and not easy to change the layout.

Your layout is much easier for new visitors to access.

While I can live with the layout you have, is the code and layout separated enough for non-programmers to modify the layout without breaking the code?

Tomale 02-24-2009 10:07 PM

I'm excited about the the relaunch of this addon.

Question: If I made edits to the Arcade Templates (e.g. adding game name to HTML title), will this update overwrite them?

This last "update" was just him adding a french translation, I don't believe anything else was changed.

I'm hoping some of the additional mods people had out for this before are update or come back. I might download some of them from the v3arcade forums and see how they work, though they're from a couple years ago, has anyone tried them yet?

All of the HTML is contained within the templates (in the vBulletin style manager) so if you're familiar with working with vB templates, you should be able to modify most of the output as needed/wanted.

Version 1.0.8 eliminated some hard code phrases in the main page template but nothing that would affect your edits. Normally your custom templates would not be affected anyway since importing the product's XML file puts the templates into the normally hidden vB Master Style. Unless you're modifying the templates there, you should be safe.

Shelley_c 02-25-2009 01:55 AM

I seriously have to stop playing this arcade, it's addictive. I'll need to ask john to ban me from it (not john the author of this script).

Nice work.

Thanks for the quick reply, KW802

A couple more questions:

Can the file be named something other than arcade.php or live outside the forum folder?

I currently have the other system installed, and want to try out yours while my users continue to play in the other one.

Thanks again for a great mod!

Is the v3arcade.com website down? I get this message when I visit the site:

When I click on "Settings" under V3 arcade in the Admin Panel, I get a blank page. Anyone else getting this?

Also, all my games are appearing as white boxes.

There are some conflicts with having both installed in the same vB installation. Here is a post from Stannger mentioning what he needed to do to get both running on the same site. For now, it'd be best likely to just try v3A on a test install.

That is the old message from when v3Arcade.com was hosted on the older server. The site was moved to a new server a few weeks ago and is alive & well. Likely your machine or ISP's DNS settings have not been updated. If you're on a Windows PC, try closing all of your browsers then issuing the command "ipconfig /flushdns" from a DOS prompt to see if that does it for you.

First one I've seen reported doing that. Try re-importing the product-v3arcade.xml file.
