couple of suggestions:

1. make fields mandatory or options
2. allow integer as type
3. have a variable set to check if the classifieds site is free (show no paypal/payment block on ad creation page)
4. optional fields are shown too close together, space them a little?

5. ads can still be added to a parent category even if option is set to no ads allowed (atleast by a administrator level user)..

Don't pull it out of the package yet, see what vbSEO says. I'd put a note in the package to comment out the first line of the vbSEO rules. But other than that, leave it in.

I think the problem with the first line of the rewrite rules is that there is an actual directory called "classifieds" If you change the rewrite rule to point to something else it will work

e.g.

Or change the name of the directory that the files are in.

I imagine that would lead to even more problems!

Slows image loading to a crawl in the forums, no idea why but have had to un-install it to get things back to normal.

At the momment the only think that would be very very nice to had, is the option of contact the seller wen the user buy an item, maybe sending and email o pm instead to be redirected to paypal, becouse in my country we dont use paypal.

I agree, can we get a quick fix to this please!!!

I rather have them complete the sale through e-mail than paypal, that way if a person sold the item and forgot to take the item off the classified section a members doesnt come along and purchase the item and have to figure out how to get his money back if its already sold.

does this use the default vb thread and post database or it creates its own? cause i already have a vibrant classified section and i don't want to lose it. also, i hope to be able to uninstall this mod in future (just to be careful) without affecting my classifieds section.

How did you fix it? I've checked permissions on the classifieds/photos/ folders and the usergroup manager and I still keep getting the same message :confused:

Am I the only one who suffered with this problem? there was nothing listed and it still dragged the server down.

I noticed a lot of uncached template warnings at the bottom of the classifeds pages, that may be related.

I'm running Classifieds on my private test forum at the moment, so there's only me browsing it.

Try it on a Live site and watch the server load shoot up, something seriously wrong with it.

Havent installed this yet, have a few questions first.
Since i'm running an forum for an online game called GuildWars and want to start an auction page for ingame items wich will be payed for only ingame not for real money, is it possible to define an ingame currency ?
And do people have to fill a address form, because this isnt really needed in this case because it's all about ingame items ?

Make sure you change the 0 to 100 or 1000 for the photos allowed, also make sure you change teh settings for every usergroup you belong to otherwise it wont work, so if one member belongs to multiple usergroups they all have to match otherwise it wont work

I guess the permissions checking needs a bit of a revamp as I'm sure mine isn't the only forum that cascades usergroup permissions?

so now what was wrong?

At least for me, this is happening many times in different 3nd party mods, even in vb mods (like vbProjectTools). I believe that it's not coming from vB itself but from a server's slow down at that time. Try again.

A newbie question regarding adding a new currency:
I want to add local currency in the first line followed by EURO and USD American.
Should I modify imported .xml file on first 3 lines on currency (replacing other currency existing there) and reupload the product file ?
Does currency positions there are used somewhere else and if I edit I crash it?

Can I edit also the pull down menue with country to have my country selected by default (and where)?

It will be great to have possibility to sell more identical items with one add , like keeping the add posted after a successful sell until items number reach 0.

Where can i edit in templates the pull down menu Options where you can select to buy the item ... First time using this I have looked at the add and could not find the link Buy now!

You wouldn't want your buyers to not find the door to get in, after they decide to want to buy :D

I just installed it on a vb3.6.8 install....

When I try and post a classified, I get a "you do not have permission to access this page" message.

I'm logged in as admin, have enabled permissions in my usergroup and enabled photos, etc.

Hello Jeff,

Please make sure that you're logon as admin and permissions for "use classifieds" are On. Sometimes there is a confusion among members that if they've enabled "Can add", assumes that they can also use it.

Possible small bug: I have found that that is no link attached to Delete Bookmark when you browse your bookmarks. I assume it should be a link whit it to remove it from Bookmarks.
EDIT: reuploaded and all works fine :)
