Anyway - as i remember - there was a permission from Xenon in his Thread long ago for everyone how want?s to use his Code to make further Updates.

And he tolds me the same nearly 1,5 Years ago via PM as i discussed with him if there will ever be an Update from him when he was still online here. But sorry, i didn?t have this PM still in my Account here in vb.org.

Xenon wasn?t online here at vb.org for Years/Month now. It is impossible to contact him again - IMHO.

Maybe it is possible for PaulM to give Vitaly a Way to contact Xenon (because PaulM wrotes he has become a personal Permission) so Vitaly can ask Xenon again?

Anyway again - like i know Xenon i can?t believe he has any Problem with Vitalys Rebuild/Distribution of this new Mod:

* No problems with quickpost & AJAX
* Attachments supported
* Easy groups ignore support
* Hooks for customisation
I guess this Differences are a small bit more creative and copyright worthily then the other Functions of Xenons first Try to make a Doublepostprevention Mod. ;)

Sorry, but how to use other Words for simple Things like this Mod does? How can Words that explain some Functions copyrighted? :erm:

Well done! Thank you for your addon.

Suggestion:
Could you pls include an option to disable this mod for specific forums? Sometime it is useful not to merge every new posting.

That would be very nice. In anyway again - thanks for you great Job to include all old Features from Xenon. :)

Black Tiger 02-09-2009 12:28 PM

I mark installed for the time being. Thanks!:)
However I'm interested in what's the difference in functions/options between your hack and the one PaulM released. That way I can make a better choice.

bluecolored 02-09-2009 12:36 PM

PaulM does not implement the old ACP-Features of Xenon.

Individual Edited By Message

And this one will merge Attachments.

I don't like to make public competiton and features comparison. It's not polite, because everybody release it's work fo free. All my mods are based on my personal needs, and sometime more general options added, when that doesn't take a lot of time.

Just read description, look screenshots, test on you site and make your choice.

trickfly 02-09-2009 01:42 PM

How is this diff to the original one ?

bluecolored 02-09-2009 02:18 PM

@trickfly - read the Firstpost:

Vitaly - anything new about the Forum excluding Function? ;)

Vitaly 02-11-2009 10:23 PM

That's already included in next version. Sheduled release in ~1-2 weeks.

Alfa1 02-12-2009 04:06 AM

Does this add-on play nice with the 'Live Topic' hack?

ericdesmontagne 02-12-2009 07:24 AM

Good job. Very easy to use.
Thank you !

Vinyljunky 02-12-2009 08:17 AM

Thank you

trickfly 02-12-2009 02:55 PM

works great, but is a bit slower than if it was off

trickfly 02-12-2009 03:00 PM

delete post

ericdesmontagne 02-12-2009 03:56 PM

An other feature should be that when there is a double post, message appears or not as new reply to be shown at the to of list

Any luck to include my request in your next edition? :) I was asking for an option not to take effects on thread openers, remember! :) Thanks in advance.

To add new feature one of conditions should be satisfied:
  • This feature is useful for myself at my project
  • This feature is useful for many forum owners and is "easy" to implement.
Your request seems quite specific. If i'm not right, you could provide more details about typical use-cases, to explain, why this feature is requied not only for you, but to the whole community.

Could you provide more details? What's wrong with "bumping on"?

ericdesmontagne 02-12-2009 06:51 PM

I don't know... i can't see in the configuration module the option to activate ou desactivate thi function...

When we answer to our own message, it can be useful to bump on or not ?

My english is poor to explain what i want to say :( sorry

ePrOmD 02-13-2009 09:20 AM

Hello ericdesmontagne

I don´t know if I understand your query. go to configuration options under admincp, where
almost all the hacks are, vBulletin options, near the end you´ll find Doublepost Prevention.

To disable the product, you have to go to the administration -
> Plugins & Products-> Manage Products, look for Doublepost
Prevention Plus and find the option to disable inside drop down menu.

In options you can specify whether a unified message function
will be bump or not. If your question is whether it is useful to have that option, I sure say yes.

mmblz 02-13-2009 12:16 PM

would love to see two features in the next version:
1. ability to put date/time of new post in the separator
2. option to keep new post on its own if the total number of images in the merged post would exceed the forum limit

already a useful mod though!

Exactly you are right.

The reason I am asking, some forums, they share images, or any subject based threads, what they do is, they use first 10 posts at threads content (I know this is typical, just to increase their post counts.)

Some times, there are something promotional too. :)

mikey1991 02-14-2009 03:12 PM

any way to exclude this from certain forums?

As in, have it on all sub forums but not on your spam forum?

I would agree with feature No.1 :)

redlabour 02-21-2009 08:48 AM

Same for me

Vitaly 02-21-2009 03:11 PM

Just wait for next week, until new version released. The goal of next release is a serious improvment of basic functionality, but some popular requests will be included to.

Simon Lloyd 02-21-2009 05:53 PM

You are very generous! :)

paintballer.ie 02-21-2009 06:44 PM

does this work with live topic ok?

Vitaly 02-27-2009 06:47 PM

Everybody welcome to test new beta!

What's new (added to previous version):
  • Social groups support
  • Splitter with bbcodes and relative time (no problems with time zones)
  • Forums exclusion
  • Full AJAX support (Yeeeaaaah!!! Found a sweet solution)
  • Controls attachments count
  • Relative time translation via addon (for languages with non-english semantics)
(*) Current addon required ONLY for russian language. If you use english and so on - install only the main product.

Vitaly 02-28-2009 03:27 PM

Those, who tryed beta - please, download it again and reimport. There was a bug, that caused "out of memory" error in IE.

GCSkye 04-04-2009 12:43 AM

Not using the beta, but a lot of times when I post with the current one I get the following:

Thank you for posting! You will now be taken to your post. If you opted to post a poll, you will now be allowed to do so.

Any idea why?
