Fangs404 do you know anything to my problem...?

james-76 02-23-2009 02:40 PM

Why is no video showing ? there is a white box the size of the usual video.
This video was working fine and it seems me and RedHacker have the same problem that suddenly happened on the same day.

Both of your sites are working just fine for me. I don't see where the problem is. Can you take a screenshot?

james-76 02-23-2009 07:05 PM

I get this in IE and Firefox. Firefox did start working again for a few hours the day it happened but nothing again now. Instead of the video loading and play button showing it comes up with a white box the same as in the screenie below for every video on my forums. I looked at RedHackers forum and I also got the white boxes.

click on image to see it full size.

Thanks for your help :)

Fangs404 02-24-2009 01:03 AM

Oh, that's very weird. Here's what I see:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2009/02/36.png

What this means is that the script (and YouTube) is working just fine. I honestly have no idea what's causing this, but it's not a problem with the script.

james-76 02-24-2009 02:42 PM

I just checked now and they are working fine in both IE and firefox :s no idea whats was wrong or if it will happen again. If it does I will let you know :)

Thanks for your help.

Deadman_014 03-01-2009 08:33 PM

Nevermind, sorry.

odln018 03-02-2009 12:43 AM

Unfortunately, this isn't working for me. It only displays the same line that I placed in.

Hi, I'm new here and would like to install this. But I'm not seeing a download option in the first post. Is there somewhere else to get this? Thanks

You dont have to download anything, you just have to add bbcode.
Just read the instruction buddy...
Goodluck!

odln018 03-05-2009 05:11 PM

Another question, the youtube image is appearing in the reply menu, but the HQ and HD image is not.

Any ideas?

Not sure why. If you install it properly, all of them will. Make sure you have 3 different image files on your server and that the BBCodes correctly point to each different image file.

DaninMS 03-11-2009 06:14 PM

Installed. Thx !

orion808 03-13-2009 05:50 PM

Nice and simple. Thank you. Installed.

Tannerman 03-25-2009 06:48 PM

Has anyone noticed in the last week or so while using this modification that HQ videos are no longer defaulting in HQ mode when embedded? The HQ button is there, but it's no longer the default when the video starts. Did something change on the parameter level?

Fangs404 03-26-2009 02:21 AM

I'm actually not convinced that it's necessary anymore to have 3 different YouTube tags now that YouTube has enabled the HQ and HD buttons in the embedded player. I can still see having the HD tag because it's actually a different size than the regular and HQ.

What do you guys think?

forumsonsuz 03-28-2009 07:26 PM

thank you

Fangs404 03-29-2009 01:32 AM

I just removed the HQ YouTube tag (youtubehq). It's no longer necessary since the embedded player now has a HQ button built in. The embedded player actually also has an HD button if HD is enabled for the video, but I'm leaving the HD tag (youtubehd) because it's a physically larger player.

Fangs404 03-31-2009 05:28 AM

I just modified both BB codes so that the full screen button is now available. I didn't realize it was missing until someone just told me yesterday.

Fangs404 04-02-2009 07:43 PM

Per james-76's suggestion, I changed the BORKED text to something with a little more meaning that will hopefully help solve any problems with this plugin in the future. Here's the new text:

HTML Code:

Something went wrong.  Please make sure you added the video correctly.  Click <a href="misc.php?do=bbcode">here</a> to see how YouTube videos should be embedded.  There could also be a technical issue that's not your fault.  Click <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v={param}">here</a> to view the video on YouTube's site.  If this link doesn't work, you did something wrong.

obmob 04-03-2009 05:11 PM

Hmm... but the new youtube player already has an HD button if available o.รณ

Fangs404 04-03-2009 08:36 PM

Yes, it does, but I include both options because the HD videos are physically larger than the standard/HQ videos. It's completely up to you if you want to use both. Another option is just to increase the size of the standard player to the HD size.

OmaniMan 04-12-2009 09:14 PM

Installed and thanks ..

obmob 04-13-2009 07:56 PM

AHHH... now i got the idea, thanks ^^,

iForce 04-20-2009 06:29 PM

Can this be changed so that user needs to enter full URL text between BB code tags?

It is easier to copy full URL.

This question has been asked and answered several times in this thread. The answer is no.

Hello, I wanted to know if anyone had this issue:

The youtube HD code works fine when I preview it in the replacement window in the admin control panel, however in posts, it doesn't display, I just see the "[youtubehd]zlfKdbWwruY[/youtubehd]". The Youtube Regular & HD code works fine however. My apologies if this was already covered. Thank you.

Fangs404 04-28-2009 12:42 AM

Hm, I just tried that on my forum and it worked just fine. If you see [youtubehd]zlfKdbWwruY[/youtubehd] in the post, that means you did something wrong setting up the BBCodes. Make sure you didn't misspell youtubehd. Take a screenshot of your admin area if you're still having troubles.

Thank you for your help Fangs, I reinserted the information just to doublecheck, and I still get the same error. It shows up fine in the admin panel, but not in posts. I have images here for you to look at. (I took them while at work, so youtube is blocked period, but on my home station, youtube regular & HQ works in posts, but not youtube HD).
Thanks again for your help.

mattcaswell 05-11-2009 09:55 PM

Installed.. works Great! Thanks!

Hm, I'm really not sure why it's working for you in the admin panel and not working in posts. Does it work fine on your BB Code FAQ page? Make sure you have those last 3 options checked (disable smilies, word-wrapping, etc).

Hey Fangs, I checked those last three options. It does work in my BB Code FAQ, but it still doesnt show up in posts. I've gone through everything I can think of and I can't quite figure it out. I appreciate any additional help you can provide. Thank you.

Frondy 05-20-2009 08:58 AM

Gosh, I'm all out of ideas. The only thing I can think of is that there's something weird going on with your theme that's breaking it, but I don't have the foggiest idea what it could be. Does it work if you use the stock default vB3 theme?

FlynnUK 06-04-2009 07:43 PM

Really nice mod. Nice one.

josefebus 06-05-2009 12:37 AM
