Like I said, this mod has no database calls in it, therefore if you are getting a db error, you need to look elsewhere.

Drocr 11-14-2009 05:56 AM

If I dont want the starts to appear do I just remove them from the image folder?

Paul M 11-14-2009 11:30 AM

No, that wont work.

Drocr 11-14-2009 11:49 PM

Okay, is this basically the same thing as the original rep display just with stars? I want better bars that increase just not stars xD

That's what it does in a way. It *greatly* extends the amount of rep that can be displayed, by replacing one full bar with a bronze star, several bronze stars with a silver star and several silver stars with a gold star.

So instead of everyone having a full bar most of the time and you having to devalue the amount reputation per pip on a weekly basis, you only have to do that maybe once every year or so with this mod installed.

If it's just the star images you're bothered about, you can easily replace them with for example larger pips.

Hi, i installed it but i don't know how to do to the mod to recognize the older posts....

I mean, the mod only recognizes the points from here to forward?

Paul M 11-15-2009 09:34 PM

The age of posts is irrelevant to this mod.

JorgeX 11-16-2009 07:12 PM

Then how can i do? I only see a green dot (10 points to 50) of reputation for me and i have 800 posts, and 1 point fo reputation for every 10 posts.

I've rebuilt the reputation information but i still having a green dot only:(

PS: I had reputation deactivated until this mod installation, but rebuilding the info should work isnt it?

So you have 80 points. Therefore one green dot is all you should see (the default settings are 1 dark green per 100 points).

You need to be in the thousands of points range before you start seeing the full display.

JorgeX 11-23-2009 02:32 PM

I just need now a explanation about the stars, because there's only "Stars Level" to configure, but not it value.

I would like to know how many points a user need to have a gold star, a bronze star, etc...

Harley D 12-01-2009 07:25 PM

Is is suppose to show ALL the stars like the pic shows?
And its also showing the old reputation underneath as well

Paul M 12-02-2009 11:45 AM

What picture ?

The stars shown is entirely depenant on your rep points.

What do you mean by "old reputation" ?

Harley D 12-02-2009 07:47 PM

If I have it setup to only show 5 stars, why is it showing 15 stars?

Paul M 12-02-2009 09:54 PM

The setting does not limit the total number of stars.

shofolofo 12-26-2009 10:11 AM

does it work for vb.4 ?
if no ... there is any alternative ?

Paul M 12-26-2009 11:31 AM

It will not work with vb4.

There is no alternative atm, but this will be released for vb4 at some point.

Pandemikk 01-06-2010 01:18 AM

Doesn't work. Images don't show. Uninstalled.

Paul M 01-06-2010 01:38 AM

Funny that, I and a few hundred other people have it happily working, so I think I'll just assume you made a mistake :)

Barteh 01-08-2010 09:20 AM

I bet he's using a custom image directory for his default style :)

Pandemikk: check with right mouse button where your current reputation images are located, upload the additional stars to that location. Same goes for any other styles on your forum that have custom images/reputation/ dirs, just check adminCP, styles & templates, style manager, all style options, image paths for each of your active styles.

Paul M 01-08-2010 10:07 AM

Im sure he is, but since he rather bluntly just said Doesnt work, uninstalled, rather than asking, I saw no point in saying anything more. ;)

Barteh 01-08-2010 10:15 AM

True :)

Pandemikk 01-09-2010 04:10 AM

Images are in the correct directory. The text shows repeated times but no images are displayed.

If you are showing text then your images are in the wrong directory/folder. Especially if you are using a different style.

The easiest and quickest way to find out where the images should be is to hover over the text.

eg. 'Admin has a reputation beyond reputation'
'Admin has a reputation beyond reputation'
'Admin has a reputation beyond reputation'
'Admin has a reputation beyond reputation'

Now you need to right click your mouse and hit view image.

A new screen will open with a server error saying not found but in the top bar will be the true root to your image.

eg Http://www.YOURFORUM.com/forum/image...n/greenpip.png

Please note that the above is not the actual path it is a random example of where it might be.

Pandemikk 01-11-2010 07:14 PM

Okay.. Uhm?

Sorry for being short earlier.

I enabled the product again before uploading the images again or moving them. And now it works perfectly..? I'm going to go ahead and blame this on a cache of some sort.

Thanks for the mod.

Paul M 01-12-2010 12:02 AM

Good to hear, now you can click installed :)

yoyoman 01-28-2010 05:04 PM

Installed and marked!
Thanks for the MOD!

Here are my stars... very similar to Melly's but my "bronze" star is blue, I don't like bronze... they are 16 color transparent gifs. Looks good on both light and dark backgrounds.

BirdOPrey5 05-30-2010 05:00 PM

OK I have it installed but no place to change settings... on 3.8.4 PL2

in VB Options there is: User Reputation Settings but no changes were made to this page... Nothing else about Reputation? Also nothing under "User Reputation" on the side menu... where are the settings, please???

EDIT- Nevermind, I had to leave the admin cp and re-open it and Extended Reputation showed up in VB options.

nice mod, installed. Been looking for something like this, I have some members with uber high rep and 10 'green' pips just isn't enough.

BirdOPrey5 05-30-2010 09:42 PM

It would be great if there could be a line-break after every 5 stars for the legacy postbit.

BirdOPrey5 06-22-2010 02:55 PM

OK I changed to much smaller stars and really like the display no line break needed. Now I'm wondering if there is an easy way to make it display as many red stars as 'positive' stars in total? In the plugin I added 2 lines under the neg rep declarations,
Code:

                                $repy = 'redstar';
                                $repz = 'redstar';

and changed the if statement from if($pos) to just if(1) - best I could tell the logic might just have been there already but alas it didn't work right, very low reps had the full amount of negative stars but when I sorted my member list by lowest rep first I saw some were out of order, one had 2 red stars and a few pips and it was listed below 1 star and some pips, when I looked at the actual values they were as expected (sorted correctly) so I guess the math/logic for negative rep multiple stars is wrong- is there an'easy' fix for this, something I could add to the code so it calculates the number of negative stars correctly?

M? CaMPa 06-22-2010 02:57 PM

thank you

Im not sure what your trying to do here, but I would it imagine it worked exactly right - but since you defined all three stars (bronze, silver, gold) as red, it would look odd, since you have no way of knowing the 'value' of each red star - one gold star would be one red star, and three bronze stars would be three red stars, making it look like a higher red rep when in fact its lower.

BirdOPrey5 06-23-2010 03:38 AM

ahhh you're right... it probably did work right but couldn't tell the difference between the stars... maybe I can figure 2 more neg colors besides red... I guess what I was trying to do was just to make it display up to 9 (in my case) red stars for the lowest of the low reps, but each star doesn't represent an equal amount. I'll figure something out. Thanks.

Alfa1 04-17-2014 11:56 AM

Does this addon allow me to define different ranges for the display of negative and positive pips?
My range of positive reputation is between 0 and 10.000 points, while my range of negative points is between 0 and -100. As -100 causes a ban no one has less than that. I'd like to display one red pip for every 10 negative points.

Paul M 04-18-2014 01:02 AM

No, the same range is used for both.
