for what is "Enabled the AJAX newthread"? I have activated but do not see the difference. |
If you leave the title field it should automatically fill the tags based on the title.

hi!! thanks for this great mod! :D
how do i disable the cache for tags? thanks! |
Hi,
Is it possible to setup the MOD in order to pull key words from the post itself? I believe using only forum titles greatly reduces how relevant the actual tags are. |
ive tried to install this mod but couldnt find it appearing at my page. what have gone wrong?
i also couldnt see this Run maintenance /" Auto Tag Threads" |

Edit: check again, it's work >:D<
|
1 Upload all files from "upload" to your server, take care of the directory structure
what does this mean? it not working.. 2 Import "product-auto_thread_tagger110.xml" as a product, overwrite if it's already installed never overwrite anything from my side. isit i have done the wrong step? |
still waiting...............
|
I just need to know if it has the same problem as the previous one where it would, apparently for no reason, tell people there were too many tags and stop their posts.
If this resolved that issue, then I'll probably install it. |

2. If you have never installed it before "allow rewrite" would be unnecessary. If you have and were upgrading you would need to select "allow rewrite" when you upload. If you forgot the first time, you would need to do it again. You install by going to products manager and click "upload/install new product" then clicking the "browse" button, installing the product onto your version of vBulletin. I hope this helps you. (I haven't installed it yet, it was unpopular because of the "too many tags" that users kept getting. I realize now it was because I had limited them to 5. Is there a setting where it will only select the first "x" number of tags?) I noticed that you said it now follows the limits on one of your updates... I guess I should read. Installed and working. |
I just installed.
But i don't see this anywhere "4. Run maintenance / Auto Tag Threads to tag existing threads (needed if you want to use the cron)" |

As for your problem when editing: Cannot confirm this. Even with larger tags. Delete auto tags is in Maintenance Tools. Quote:

I'm having a slight problem with this mod. For some reason, it is not tagging words in a newly created forum. I had this mod installed first, then I created a new forum. Should I run the maintenance to have it see this new forum?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Great mod btw! |
Maintenance needs only to be run if you freshly installed the mod or changed tag settings.
Please check settings if this forum is not on exclusion list. |
Thanks - this is me being retarted, it's a hidden forum. I figured auto thread tagging doesn't need to be run since it's a hidden forum.
I forgot this after the fact....doh! |
i ran a update counter on my threads and got this error:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /home/SITE/public_html/forums/includes/functions_autotagger.php on line 415 what casued this? i had to disable the mod to make the update work |
Hi, thanks for this mod!
|
I have a news forum that receives posts from an RSS feed. It doesn't appear that these threads are getting tagged. Is that a limitation of the mod or should they be tagged?
|
Installed!
But please change your instructions to say that configuration can be accessed at Tagging Options (Automatic Thread Tagger) instead of just Automatic Thread Tagger! ;) |
so it the thread tagger at the main forums or search page? i have try to cut and paste the script to main forums but dont seem to work.

I would like this so much better if it tagged the original posts' content rather than just the thread title. There's rarely anything useful in a title to tag. Most of the keyword relevancy is found in the post.
|
But the whole point of tagging is to enable people to find things in the future that a key word search won't. IOW, if the tag appears as a word in the post, it will hit in a regular search. So it's redundant to copy post words to tags. Not to mention you'd have dozens of tags per post.
e.g. A post about engines in Chevys. Only when someone adds the tag "Chevrolet" or "455cc" will the tag search become more useful than the standard keyword search. This mod won't do that, but without it nobody bothers adding tags. |
