I had that error way back when, as I recall 'hacknho' was the listed mod author then, and I was only able to fix it with his(her?) help. This time, I get no error showing in the members list, but I also do not get a listing of awards showing there.

My biggest request in the automation dept. involves member anniversary dates. I have members who have been around for 8+ years now, and I wish there was a way to indicate that, with an award that changes on their anniversary date. I do have a nice little system using Ranks that adds a star in the postbit for every 1000 posts, but some of the long-term members are pretty quiet. I wish I could reward longevity some way....

trulylowcarb 01-19-2009 03:14 PM

Oops. I really came here to say that sorting does not appear to work for me, as I understand it.
I wanted to only show one award in the postbit, since I have rather larger icons in use, and after I awarded bunches of people for various things, decided I wanted a defferent one to actually show. So I changed the sort order, assuming that would change the display, but no go... even the display orer in the admincp stayed the same.

Biker_GA 01-20-2009 01:58 AM

We use this to nominate folks for outstanding posts on our site. What I'd like to see is the ability to nominate a post (I put the link to awards.php in the pull down menu in postbit_legacy) and have it snag the URL of the post as part of the message that's sent with the nomination. Doable?

scottny 01-21-2009 06:28 PM

finally got this working. thanks it is a great mod.

Can I give the SAME award to a user multiple times? Meaning... I want to give out awards on my forums based on tournament results. There have been several hundred tournaments already, and I dont want to make an award for each tournament. I just want to have a general 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophy... that I can award multiple times... Is this possible?

Subah 01-22-2009 06:41 PM

Great mod , but it is still in beta stage right ??

Neo_Angelo 01-25-2009 09:14 PM

a suggestion for future versions, if a user is awarded the same award more than once it'll show the image with (x2) or whatever the number of times that award has been issued to them for,

also maybe a grouping awards feature that catagorizes awards so members can have an awards showcase that has the options to filter out awards by catagory, for example:

Cometition awards
Forums achievements
Arcade Awards

which admins can add and remove catagorys and mass move awards into catagories to fit their style.

Trek 01-26-2009 01:25 AM

Installed, all works, except that there isn't an entry in the user profile.

I checked and the default theme as well as the custom theme are not showing that tab. Any suggestions?

KenDude 01-26-2009 03:51 AM

I just stumbled across this mod and wanted to ask the following - I'm using "Yet Another Award System 3.5 version 2.1.2" and it is running fine on 3.7.3, but I am about to upgrade to VB 3.8.

What do I need to do with this mod to upgrade the version I am currently using or is that not possible with this version?

I have this same question as we run weekly awards, gold, silver, bronze awards and would like to know as well if we can give the award multiple times over to the same user?
Thanks!

Nadeemjp 01-30-2009 04:17 AM

when i give the award to some users, the following error occurs:

PHP Code:

Warningmysql_insert_id() [function.mysql-insert-id]: A link to the server could not be established in [path]/admincp/award.php on line 581

this is in addition to the error occuring when i enable the award list to be displayed in the member list.

these two errors have been haunting me like forever.
mod developers, please do something about it:(
i have been having this error since 3.7.3 and now i am on 3.8 and still i get this error:(

i dont wanna get rid of this incredible modification:(

please help

To upgrade all you do is re-upload this new version and overwrite the old version and it should be fine, the only differenc between the versions are this one add a few features.

so upgrading from older versions is possible.

KenDude 02-01-2009 04:43 PM

Is this modification even supported? THe developer has not been online since December so I am wondering which is the right upgrade for what I have?

kavehch 02-02-2009 09:05 PM

Lol, I wanted vbulletin for a few reasons! This award plugin was one of them :P Love it

crhardison 02-14-2009 09:46 AM

love it! this is one of the few must-have mods that we used on grownupgamers.com. Great way to give custom awards for users who win leages or game nights or whatever... PURE GENIOUS! kudos to the authors!

Download the zipfile of the mod. Upload all that is in the upload folder to the right ftp folders, as the are called. Everything in the "Images" folder goes to your images folder and so on. Then the three files that aren't in a specific folder go to your root.
Edit the templates as descibed in the "Member List Template Edit" text file. Then upload the xml. (Admin Cp --> Plugins and products - Manage products and at the bottom add/import product). That's it.

stickskills 02-14-2009 11:12 PM

I would love to re-install this if we could get point values associated with the mod.

jmurrayhead 02-21-2009 04:39 PM

We give monthly awards (member of the month-type awards). Something useful would be an option to set an expiration date on award requests. Meaning, after a certain date, users wouldn't be allowed to request an award. It should be on per-award basis.

Mahar 02-27-2009 05:33 AM

Okay...I've installed it and everything...I've uploaded everything and I'm not seeing anything to edit or add awards...I went into the Setting in vBulletin Options and I tried to edit the PM and Subject for whenever a user gets an award and it says the phrases could not be found.

hobbybox 02-28-2009 01:15 AM

Can I get some help - I made a backup of my awards tables using the Backup feature in AdminCP - how do I retore the tables now that I upgraded from 3.5 to 3.8?

DobieGillis? 02-28-2009 12:54 PM

DobieGillis? 02-28-2009 12:54 PM

unicorn2433 03-04-2009 12:58 AM

nevermind.

unicorn2433 03-04-2009 01:03 AM

Oh and should there be an awards link in the navbar?

oBEAVISo 03-04-2009 10:02 PM

I would just like to give a very big thankyou to DobieGillis for the Kindness and Help he has given me today. It is very much appreciated indeed.

Thankyou Very Much.

I seem to have an issue though and am wondering if someone could help me out please. The Awards are not showing in a persons Postbit.

I came across this by sheer fluke. On one part of our forums when posting there is a drop down option when creating a new post.In this drop down there are 4 options - Postbit article,Postbit Legacy,Postbit Flipped and Postbit Normal.Apart from Postbit Normal and Legacy the awards will display once a post is made. However the postbit seems to revert back to what appears to me to be vbulletin default layout. We want to switch this option off and only have the posts appear as they do under image Postbit Normal with the awards showcase No.1

Postbit normal

Postbit flipped

could anyone please advise me on how to go about getting this toi display under postbit normal

Thank you in advance.

Question I was wondering if it is possible to have this mod installed and working two times on my forum.
I already have it installed to hand out awards which is cool. Love this mod.
But I wanted to use it for another purpose too. For another set of awards that are seperate from the first set and will show up seperately in post bit.
So I can have lets say awards Showcase1 and then an awards showcase 2 in seperate spots in postbit and profile.
