Modification System !

Maya22 10-19-2008 01:15 PM

My favorite Mod System!!

Paul M 10-19-2008 04:40 PM

The Modification System has been disqualified for breaking the MOTM rules.

Definitely Cyb Chatbox

Because Cyb has provided some extremely useful hacks. He surely deserves a great credit.

Bravo majstore !!!

Val.

What is this? No good modifications? Well, they are good, but none that really stand out for me.
So here are my honest, biased opinions...

Forum Tournaments:
Great mod for forums that need it, but it's not a necessity, if you don't need it... You don't need it...

Answer Forums 1.0.0:
You have no idea how much I hate these, and while the mod is great and can help for site registration rates, I don't' like burdening visitors/guests. (I know it can be disabled)
Also, I make it a point of mine to not vote for any mod that has a "premium" version. Either make it all free, or all pay - all that making a premium version does is pee people off.

Cyb - ChatBox
Like I said in the last MOTM, I just don't see the point in this when you can get the brilliant vBShout.

vb Linkchecker Bot
Good mod, can always assist a site that has links (or a supported type) especially good for those warez forums where links are non-stop posted and downloaded from.

RESULT: vB LinkChecker Bot

nightbloom 10-21-2008 03:19 PM

I voted the Tournaments and Ladders Mod because it is unique and of particular interest to my forum. I agree with AzzidReign, if the Answer Forum's premium version were only a free mod...

Ray2khax 10-23-2008 12:12 AM

Voted for tournaments :)

I've had vB Shout in the past. Not so brilliant. ALOT of us like this chatbox because it doesn't force on us all the bells and whistles that we don't need or want. :)
Just a simple, chatbox.

godofwar2 10-29-2008 07:29 PM

Too bad modification system was disqualified.... it's a cool mod with great support! The Chatbox is cool too, but winning MOTM should be about both quality product and quality support.... its support is non-existent.

PoetJA-1975 10-30-2008 01:40 AM

meh- the Cyb Chatbox (like most all cyb mods) doesn't require much support. It's a simple product install. What's your support issue? Perhaps I can help?

Jacquii.

Marco van Herwaarden 10-30-2008 07:16 AM

Please do not turn this thread into a support thread for modifications.

PoetJA-1975 10-30-2008 07:38 AM

I was simply offering help MARCO - mental note made...

Jacquii.

Marco van Herwaarden 10-30-2008 07:44 AM

Thank you for making a mental note not to use a MOTM or BOTM thread to give support.

EuK 10-30-2008 09:41 AM

I have voted ,Cyb - ChatBox

You are quite welcome - I love making mental notes when obviously a mental is required

I still don't see how ChatBox is all that. It's a watered-downed version of somehting that's been around forever, while Tournaments is a great modification that people have been waiting for for years.

Hmmm - could be because Chatboxxes are still one of the most popular online interactive applications and the Cyb Chatbox in particular is an uber-easy install, it's written very well, the settings are easily adjustable via the AdminCP, it's not such a "bulky" upload of tons of files as are other chatbox modifications and a host of other reasons why it is well received by vB.org Members and will win MOTM :)

Jacquii.

ps - and in case you have not installed it to see all the available features, there is nothing "watered-down" about it ;) -- In fact - I have installed and tested quite a few vBulletin chatboxes - this one by far is the best IMO and the least server intensive AND it's free :D

mine is just a couple files :(

I considered using Cyb Chatbox myself actually, I'm just to used to mine and did made it to my own preference. for one having to see an "archive" rather than just use pages is something I ever wonder when people make chatboxes.

anyway, this isn't about chatboxes, grats Cyb

PoetJA-1975 11-02-2008 07:47 AM

I was actually refering the apparently now-defunct Inferno Shoutbox :P --- Um... I don't even know if I've seen your chatbox Dream. I didn't even know you MADE a chatbox - but if it's anything like the Radio & TV Player - then it's a sure winner... Now I go in look for it LOL

Love ya 'cause you sooooo dreamy ;)

Jacquii.

Dream 11-02-2008 08:09 PM

lol :) it's really a simple one, no match for Cyb's, and it won't be improved further.

PoetJA-1975 11-02-2008 11:21 PM

Yes! Congrats CYBERNETEC - a fabulous win :)

@ DREAM - I did in fact see your Chatbox before - It's nice actually and a simple code which I can definitely appreciate ;)

Jacquii.
