I think, it has a compatibility issue with Yahoo Messenger. Since I have installed VBM, I am facing an iertutil.dll error saying "Could not locate component" on opening yahoo messenger.

VBM is a dependant software , and it no-way connected to yahoo messenger or any other software .

I am getting this error. :(

Where to get that .dll and where to put?

i run vbb in dir /yega but messnger don't run /yega it run root :|

I would like to find out what that costs for these options are, and I'll definitely think about it :D

That's what I thought about the queries as well, but for some reason, it wouldn't create the tables in my database until I did that, and I'm on Apache 2.2.8 with MySQL 5 :confused: so I don't know why that fixed it, maybe just a quirk

Works for me except there are a couple of issues:

1. No avatar is showing up next to my username, there is just a white box.
2. In the 'My Status' dropdown, <Cutom Message> should actually say <Custom Message> (is CuStom, not Cutom.

Also, a quick suggestion which would make things look a bit tidier...

In the 'Forum' section where it lists the last 10 posts, the current format looks a bit untidy. Instead of showing the format like this:

[THREAD TITLE] by [USERNAME]: Thread text is here etc...

It might look much nicer in the following format:

Thread Title
by Username (Post Time)

The text of the thread is not needed here as it is repeated underneath anyway and this is much more readable.

Also, I think that it needs to differentiate between when people start a new thread and when they reply to a thread. At the moment, it simply says:

"Username has started a thread..." regardless of whether it is a new thread or a reply to an existing thread.

Anyway, this app is damned good so far and is definitely something I will be able to utilise once things are a bit further down the line.

Like others, I would like to see an option where I could upload a logo (even if it has to conform to specific dimensions) and I would also like to be able to change the name from 'VBulletin Messenger' to [SITENAME] Messenger.

Anyway, all in all, this is a brilliant mod and shows a hell of a lot of potential!

Same here. My forums are installed in mysite.com/forum, not in the root folder...
The messenger can login, but it cannot load any info from the forums. When I click "Read More" or "Go to Forum", it takes me to the root. Is there a way we can get this to work? It would be really cool to have this on our forums.

It seems, that that mod dosent take care about the forumsrights.

I can't unzip the file. It says its invalid.

on winxp sp2 pro the messenger files didnt install fine i can't execute it.

How about you can offer an option to customize installer, phrases and colours of the application?

I made the avatar change, as per Veccys recommendation and this fixed the problem, however I've just tried chatting with other forum members and this is not working at all.

All the other parts - eg new thread notifications, new friend additions are fine, but the chat thing certainly needs to work.

Also, on the Forum section, would it be possible to remove anything between the tags and just display the reply instead?

alright.. i must say great work by you, but i think you released it too early coz a lot of work needs to be done i think.

Besides the fact that it did not run for me, I don't know how, but it removed iertutil.dll from my PC and started spitting out DLL not found errors.

I uninstalled VBM, reinstalled Yahoo, ran system file checker but nothing helped. I even downloaded iertutil.dll but didn't work as there occured a version mismatch.

Atlast, I finally decided to reinstall windows but i thought of asking once for that dll from my friend. And that solved the problem, as I got the right version iertutil.dll :D

I hope the updated version would be much more stable. Waiting for it. thanks !

This dll file is not a part of the messenger , please tell me what OS you are using , i mean windows xp / vista ? , i will check this file

check the website in the exe file before logging in

I wish i could have this error on one of the 5 PCs at my home so i can fix it , yet i did not get it , please upload the right version of the dll here , or give me a link for it .

I type in my name and password and they are the correct name and password, and it says 'wrong name or password' and then there is a run-time error '424' ....

will be fixed , for now please try creating a new subdomain named "FORUM" and put the "vbmsngr" folder to "public_html/forum" and login using @forum.site.com

Whilst this mod is potentially awesome, the coder really needs to check his php files better :)

Please check you configuration file "include.php" and pay attention for the $table_prefix value and the $forum_url value

yes , login with your username@site.com , where site.com is your domain name , the run time error is fixed in version 1.4 , will be uploaded by the end of the week
