This does look nice (I went straight to the premium demo on your site)... sadly, at this time I don't think it's something I could use in its current format. I agree with some other posts, that multiple NEWS forumID's are needed (I have different types of news on my forum; site specific news (downtime, etc.), global news, UK specific news, Father's rights news, etc. etc.)

Forgive my tone, if it comes over as snobbish, but I do tthink this application needs a little more to offer for $35.

That aside, it's a great product to keep small forums together I think. Good stuff!!!

i just installed it on my testforum. But i can`t find the ability anywhere.
The downloadzipfile is still version 1.0.0 shouldnt it be version 1.0.1? Forget to change the file?

What do you think about creating a new public usergroup for the newsletter-users? So the users can join the group via user-cp/or go out (when the group is without a group-leader there is nothing to do) and then only this group-id must picked for send the newsletter.

The zip's fine, just forgot to edit it but it should be updated. It's when you go to send the newsletter, don't see it?

No problem Karlm, everyone will always have their own view on things. I deal with several vb owners a day and it will always be nearly impossible to satisfy all of them at once. With that said, what i will always do is continue to see what more they'd like, etc. and try and integrate it with what my customers seek as a whole, so feel free to shoot me over a message with any suggestions :up:

The only entry i can see under send newsletter is: E-mail Cycle (Amount of users to send E-Mails to at once)
It look`s like the third picture of your screenshots. When i look at installed addons there is also version 1.0.0, is that correct so?

I've reinstalled the mod twice now and can confirm that there is no option for usergroups. I've also searched the entire package and there doesn't seem to be any mention of this functionality.

my images paths are abslute and style sheet not stored in acp settings and the images arent coming up (1 is, but not the rest)

Hm, thats odd indeed. You sure you're right about that style path? That would be the only logical explanation. What email client are you using?

Same, I just installed it for the first time using the current version (1.0.1) and cannot find any option for usergroups either. That is the reason I have migrated back to this topic after installation, to actually see if it was an included feature or not in the current one.

Look forward to using it once I work out what the issue is :D

I just updated to 1.0.1, and confirm there are no usergroup options.

Also I have set absolute paths for images and the newsletters are still not displaying images, googlemail doesn`t keep the layout or colours, hotmail shows colours and correct layout but no images.

Just installed again on the fresh copy and i'm able to see the following option when going to send a newsletter

"The usergroup id's of the usergroups in which you would like to send this to (separated by a comma, no spaces). Leave this blank to send to all."

Be sure to overwrite the product.

Oh yes, sorry it is there, maybe that should be made clear as to where it is in the read me since the previous version just sent the newsletters when clicking that. Thanks alot :D

PS: Any ideas on what could be wrong with images not showing in the news letters? As stated I have set absolute paths for the images.

I didn't have anything to overwrite, it was a first time install :confused:

I uploaded the files and imported the xml file... not sure what else to do. But there is definitely no setting there for me related to usergroups, unless its in the "send newsletter" option which I haven't clicked on yet... was concerned that it would send out the newsletters to everyone immediately without any further notice. I'm not ready to do that just yet.

Yes the option to send to particular usergroups is in the send news letter, when you click that it asks what usergroups id to send to or leave blank to send to all,

What images are not showing? Can you provide me with a screenshot?

As a newsletter will send out many thousands of emails, it would be essential to have functionality to process those emails that bounce back. Otherwise the sender has high risk to get blacklisted as a spammer.

Please consider adding this functionality or releasing it as a separate mod: How to keep your board from getting blacklisted as a spammer.

Great addon, but What I'm looking for is the possibility to have more newsletters on different subjects, and so I can have 500 subscribers to the first one, 2000 to the second one...
And write them an html message when I want.

In fact the best thing every, would be to have or a bridge with the system of phplist.com or to have those funcionnalities (click-tracking, muliple list....)

Adding PHP list integration would be awesome and has been requested many times on vborg.

i bought the premium version and was having the same issue as you. im not sure exactly what was causing the ( . ) to be dropped from the files, but he has fixed it, and spent a good deal of time making sure 1) he got it working correctly and 2) making sure he has a happy customer. he responded to all my request for assistance quickly, letting me know what the issue was every time.

look forward to working with him some more:up: and some of the new items he has in the works:D

I dont know why nobody tried that.... In a website there are few things very important and newsletter is one of those, and nobody tried to create something powerful like phplist or at least tried to make a bridge between vb and a professional solution.
I could pay for that...

Many would pay for that.
