No, none of the URLs are in there. And FYI I upgraded by uploading the new files and overwritting the plugin...

Thanks, Mert, but the same problem remains. The same warnings:)

LoRdGd,

you should open http://yourforumsroot/vbseo_sitemap/ in browser and click "Run sitemap generator" link.

iojam 07-07-2008 07:27 PM

hugh_,

Please try to add the following to the bottom of functions_vbseo_sitemap.php file:
PHP Code:

if(!function_exists('vbseo_group_url_row')){function vbseo_group_url_row(){}}
if(!
function_exists('vbseo_tags_url')){function vbseo_tags_url(){}}
if(!
function_exists('vbseo_album_url_row')){function vbseo_album_url_row(){}}

I have already clicked this link, many times ;-(

The sitemap is creating, but i have`nt any seo files in /forum_root/ !
The sitemap_index.xml.gz is on my root/forum/vbseo_sitemap/data/

I have instaled it 6h ago and there is no bots visits and download. I think something is wrong :(

Asuming you meant vbseo_sitemap_functions.php the fix made some difference with URLs added for albums, groups and tags but they aren't listed in the report generated immedately after running the job (below) and it doesn't appear to have listed all URLs (for exmaple albums should just 4 URLs from ~20)...

Ok then, thanks for your help. Another question. I'm having trouble getting an addon to work correctly. What name should I be using for them exactly?

Thanks!

Hugh

Thanks, been waiting for this for ages ^^

iojam 07-07-2008 11:19 PM

hugh_,

what exactly is the problem you get?

LoRdGd,

the files are stored in data/ folder only, you should create .htaccess file as described to be able to access them via forums root. That's not related to vB admincp options.

fattony69 07-08-2008 03:44 AM

I have an .htaccess file in my forum root set to this:

Code:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^(www\.|$) [NC]
RewriteRule ^ http://www.%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]

Do I just add the coding to make it look like this:

Code:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^(www\.|$) [NC]
RewriteRule ^ http://www.%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]
RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

Thank you for finally releasing this mod! It's working very nicely. I initially received the following error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 111813495 bytes) in /home/hidden/local/home/hidden/hidden.com/vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_sitemap_functions.php on line 1298

The script wanted to use around 109MB. I changed the php settings to 120M and now it's working fine.

I'm guessing I'm using the wrong name to call the downloadsii addon because it's not generating a map for those URLs...

Thanks.

Okay, but how can i make it? I have .thaccess file in my forum root, but probably it`s not working correctly.

EDIT:
I have added /forum/ into url in .htaccess file.
Now everything looks okay.
Can you confirm this? :)

Including the file name triggers the addon but I get a database error. I'll forward the exact error when I can get hold of it. Is this a mysql user permissions issue?

Hugh

iojam 07-08-2008 12:47 PM

fluentdesigns,

are you running vBSEO product on your forum?

Goomzee,

the installation instructions are included in the package file. Optional "extra-urls.txt" file can be used in case if you want to include other URLs in sitemap.

Philosopher,

if you have any files inside data/ folder, you might need to change the permissions for them to 0666.

fattony69,

that's correct.

hugh_,

that should not be a permissions case. What exactly is the db error message? (it's included in html source of db error page)

iojam 07-08-2008 12:50 PM

Usually the sitemap is checked soon after sitemap is regenerated daily, that may differ though. Bots will also download sitemap_X.xml.gz files.

CurtisK 07-08-2008 12:59 PM

is it possible to upgrade from 2.0 as i think i have the vb 3.6 version installed (or would i have to do a clean install?)

Installed, unfortunately still VBSEO 2.2 doesn’t support Live.com/MSN.com

iojam 07-09-2008 02:39 PM

hugh_,

you should check the html source of the page with db error for details.

fluentdesigns,

try to reupload sitemap generator files, looks like you have an older version.

wii,

yes, they are automatically excluded.

alessai,

it's supported, check the email notification with detailed ping results.

LoRdGd,

try to submit sitemap_1.xml.gz manually to Google, or give it a few days to get other sitemap files.

alessai 07-09-2008 02:42 PM

umm okey i'll check the email when it comes next time

Edited : i thought about it, ping in the index sitemap link wont really make a diffrence because Live.com dosnt accept the sitemap unless its in the root (public_html)
(My understanding of ping in the details is sending to the search engine the sitemap link)

Goomzee 07-09-2008 03:01 PM

it's works

Check the VBSEO-Sitemap options you will find a field to write the password
