It's great that you've taken this project on!

One very important request:

Could you add an option to exclude members who have deselected the "Receive Email from Administrators" option?

This will result in far fewer complaints, etc.

Thanks :)

Watson 06-04-2008 07:53 PM

Dont mean to sound ungrateful, but is there anyway I can remove the text

Code:

Inactive Reminders By Mished.co.uk and FTP-Anime.com
I dont mind advertising hacks, but with it being such a small hack I would prefer not to do so

GPTB 06-04-2008 08:19 PM

Editted out - sorry

I think that's an option in the settings through the AdminCP.

Request: Could some people post some of the messages they made to send to the users? I need some messages for the message rotation script

Any updates on this bug test? I still can't get this working properly and I really want to use it :(

Thanks.

robertjandreu 06-07-2008 05:16 PM

I tested it on my forum and didn't have any problems. I'm sorry but it needs a full rewrite of the code so I can't help you at this time.

GPTB 06-11-2008 05:37 PM

Robert - do you think that you're able to add the feature I requested into the mod?

Why do you need to re-write it?

robertjandreu 06-13-2008 09:15 PM

The code it old and some installs have problems with it. Also epanding it is really hard so a complete rewrite would be good.

@GPTB: I will implement it ASAP

GPTB 06-14-2008 09:02 AM

Thank you Robert - much appreciated :)

callumbush 06-19-2008 07:56 AM

Hi Robert,

Thanks for taking this on! :)

When can we expect the next update?

Cheers

Callum

djbaxter 06-19-2008 11:09 AM

Just upgraded to this version from 1.09.

Received this bounceback message from and ISP:

Quote:

Your mail to the following recipients could not be delivered because they are not accepting mail from UnknownSender@UnknownDomain:
What is this about?

robertjandreu 06-19-2008 12:05 PM

it means some mails won't be delivered because its a PHP generated mail. If noone is in the list you have nothing to worry about.

djbaxter 06-19-2008 12:45 PM

There is a member's name in the list below that message.

robertjandreu 06-19-2008 06:56 PM

then that member didn't get the email. Still nothing to worry about :)

djbaxter 06-20-2008 01:37 AM

"they are not accepting mail from UnknownSender@UnknownDomain" is something to worry about. That's not a real email address.

Keyser S?ze 06-20-2008 05:23 AM

question, you say a user will receive 1 email and never get another agai

what if they get the 1 email, and then visit the forums then disappear again, will they get another one, or no?

i agree, a user shouldnt get one each few months wether they visit or not, but if the email got them to return once, it may work again and maybe this time they will stick around

robertjandreu 06-24-2008 09:35 AM

then you don't need to select the new option

@djbaxter:
It's a setting on your server it has nothing to do with the plugin...

No, it's not. First, I'm running on a VPS and I know how it's configured. Second, every other email sent out, including by this add-on, has been fine.

It may indeed be the ISP at the other end - I was asking whether there is anything in your add-on that might be contributing.

mayanks 06-27-2008 07:39 PM

By any chance, can i set some kind of restrictions that the script does not send more than 250 emails per hour? My ISP has restricted emails to 300/hour. Lemme know.

thanks in advance.

vbboarder 06-30-2008 05:47 AM

This is a great mod! I have a feature request that similar in functionality to this mod. In addition to e-mailing inactive users, can you add a function to e-mail users whose subscriptions are about to expire? Thanks for considering. ;)

RedFoxy 06-30-2008 01:43 PM

i want itttttttttt!!!!!

robertjandreu 07-03-2008 07:32 PM

@djbaxter: sorry for the late reply. know this because I didn't change anything on the email sending function only the member grabbing function so the formatting is still the same.

Any news on the rewritten version and an approx. timeframe to its release? :)

robertjandreu 07-06-2008 06:52 PM

I don't have a timeframe since I'm really busy. Prolly will take some time. Please be patient.

madmax1228 07-09-2008 05:30 PM

installed.

wanno 07-10-2008 04:20 PM

Thank you for this nice plugin.

Found out how it works.
Very nice.

- is it possible to send a test email to the admin?
- can I create another message and send it also to users who haven't activated their registration?

I'm only using this for one usergroup, the ones awaiting email confirmation. This is the message I use.

You really should learn to read before you install any more add-ons.

1. Do you see any email addresses after the part in bold red above?

2. This question has been answered previously.

Inactivity based on last post
Set the inactivity based on the last post/activity made by the user. If set to no, the inactivity will be set by the last activity field (ie, when the member last visited, or last posted, depending on your settings.)

Rideharder 07-18-2008 05:27 AM

Lookinf for this one thanks I will use.
"If set to yes, will append a credit to the author to the footer of each email sent out"

How do I fix the "From:" for the e-mails generated by this product?

My reminder e-mails from "From: Discuss New York" which is bad, and should be forums@my-domain
