That is a server, not a channel. ;)

Via the plugins. I've made some changes to this for some problems like not being able to connect due to "Erroneous Nick"
Code:

<param name="nick" value="$ezirc[username]">
@ redlabour: LOL. That's what I was thinking.

Those commands are server sided. They must be added by the administrator of the network. Otherwise you have to /msg Nickserv

===development update===

Everyone: I'm running 1.0.7 Beta on my forum, still working on getting the new features implemented. I will have them up this weekend, hopefully. :)

I've gotten a small bit of the per-user options set (eg: /authserv or /nickserv auto on connect)

solidlink 05-22-2008 08:16 AM

guys, want to check if this application does affect the server load a lot?

toonysnn 05-22-2008 10:42 AM

Haven't seen anything on my forum. Here's my uptime command on SSH.
Code:

root@svr [~]# uptime
 11:41:55 up 42 days, 19:12,  1 user,  load average: 0.08, 0.05, 0.03

KURTZ 05-22-2008 10:45 AM

Billy just wondering, you know that mirc is heavy dangerous, cause it opens many doors on the server, so it can be easily hacked ... how about the protections?

toonysnn 05-22-2008 07:07 PM

Can you please provide some examples of backdoors? I might be able to whip up a fix for any of them.

purepothead 05-23-2008 12:23 AM

Can't wait for the new version.

I havent expereinced any lag from the use of this at all and its pretty heavily used at times.

Backdoors? I will ask the Owner/Operator of our IRC server if this is a concern and report back as soon as I can.

I do not believe there are any backdoors enabled from using mIRC. That is only client sided if there are any. ;)

The new version will also include:
Joining multiple channels

purepothead 05-23-2008 08:43 PM

Not sure how mIRC got involved since none of this is mIRC related, but a few IRC owners stated that none of this is ran server side other than the HTML so there is no possible security issue there.

That's where it came in. And I thought so, or else my IRC server would've been exploited a long time ago.

berben4 05-27-2008 07:34 PM

Thank you for the mod. I am having trouble with it interacting with my Photo Post integration with VB though. If the mod is activated it throws errors on the Photo Post entry page as follows:

Warning: require_once(./includes/functions_showthread.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in \gallery\header-inc.php on line 98

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required './includes/functions_showthread.php' (include_path='.;C:\php5\pear') in \gallery\header-inc.php on line 98

From what I can tell it looks like it is messing around with the user sessions but I am not sure. What in the mod could cause it to alter the integration with other scripts or with the user sessions?

Thank you for you time.

toonysnn 05-28-2008 10:57 AM

I've never seen this problem before with my mod. But if I had to take a guess, it looks like your photopost configuration is incorrect. It may also be that EzIRC has a "$path" variable which I should change to $ezirc[path]
I'll take a look into things and let you know when I get home from school.

Strik3 05-28-2008 04:33 PM

may you add a feature to use irc commands on connect wich every user can save for himself. like "msg nameserv identify" and so on

berben4 05-29-2008 03:01 AM

Any updates on the Photo Post issue?

toonysnn 05-29-2008 10:10 PM

Sorry I hadn't gotten to it. School's been hell this week. I'll look into it right now.

If there is no issue in general (I've probably made a mistake...) then I'll do a patch for 1.0.6

toonysnn 05-29-2008 10:14 PM

Okay. I've applied something to see if it'll work. As I do not know where (or if it's free) PhotoPost is at, I will not be able to do some testing. =/

Attached: XML update (1.0.6 PL1 - for PhotoPost users)

Is it at all possible to have this mod work for the vBulletin word filter?

sparkster666 06-01-2008 01:34 AM

I get this error when i try to connect

Quote:

Connecting...
Unable to connect : java.security.AccessControlException : access denied (java.net.SocketPermission irc.gamesurge.net resolve)

sparkster666 06-01-2008 10:03 PM

User error works great

I wish. :(

PS everyone: I've been working on a more developed EzIRC due to errors and such with connecting. Usually everyone can connect, and some (few select) cannot due to their usernames on the forum. I will be finishing up the arrays for that and releasing 1.0.7 (with patch of 1.0.6.pl1)

usertr 06-02-2008 12:48 AM

I've got vB3.6.10. Will it work with that version of vB?

I've also got a home page built with vBadvanced CMPS. I assume that won't get in the way.
Edit: I wrote this before I went to your site and saw that you're using vBa as well.

I've got a user with a space in his user name. It sounds as if 1.0.7 will accommodate that.

Also, I've never used a mod from vBorg before. This one says it uses a plugin. I assume that means I can back it out from the admin panel if I have to deal with vB support on something and they ask me to.

Also, as new versions come out, let's say 1.0.8 or 1.0.9, how do I upgrade the mod? Do I back everything out and reinstall the new one??

Dunno if it'll work with 3.6.10. Haven't tried, but it should.

1.0.7 will make sure that all usernames are acceptable.

It uses plugins to update the forum instead of using many PHP files and edits.

All you do to upgrade is to reupload & overwrite the product from the Products & Plugins area.

cnutter 06-04-2008 03:22 PM

OK, is there anyway to speed up the login process. The Ident seems to take around 90 seconds.

Mum 06-04-2008 06:07 PM

That's determined by your server, unless you're talking about the loading time of the app itself?

toonysnn 06-04-2008 08:37 PM

Ident is not mainly handled by the client, it must be allowed by the user, then processed in the server and then a result sent back to the client saying that it's good to connect.

erdshare 06-05-2008 03:23 PM

thanks... 3.7.0 working..

nizzie 06-06-2008 02:52 AM

when i installed and left the info provided in the mod i get a red X on the java app

toonysnn 06-06-2008 03:41 AM

Can you provide a link to your forum? This would be easier to diagnose the problem.

toonysnn 06-07-2008 01:25 PM

Just a update on the current status:
  • vBulletin Options
    • Revised channel field, can be used for several channels.
    • Can use global Quit Message (will not override a user's custom, but is disabled per-user by default)
    • Filename (You can move EzIRC to a different file now)
  • Usergroup Permissions
    • Can Use IRC? (default: 0 (no))
    • Can Use Custom Quit? (default: 0 (no))

gnrmarcel 06-11-2008 01:32 PM

nice add-on but we have a own channel with passwort protection
when a user logging in (via vb) the java applet shows a error "bad password"
where i can put down the right password?

Raptor 06-11-2008 01:46 PM

superb works great

toonysnn 06-11-2008 08:47 PM

I think you can add the password right after the channel name.
I might make a different Admin CP page for editing all the options, etc.

1.0.7 is being delayed due to lack of funds and our power going out...right now I'm running on friend's home power and network.

that would be cool :-)

punk23 06-12-2008 08:33 AM

Great Plugin but we have a slight problem. Some of our users have spaces in their usernames on the forum, when they connect to the irc server it boots them. Is there anyway to have spaces in usernames translated to dashes or underscores?
