thanks for the great work bro. I am running th enewest v3.7.0 and followed the instructions to a t making sure admins can have custom smilies etc so I can test it as an admin but the smilies link does not show in my user cp even though I am positive I have it in the correct table right below attachments etc. reloaded everything, triple checked all my work but just does not show up. It is set to yes for all my users besides admin lso in the admin controls, that all works fine but it just does not show up as a user option. done hundreds of hacks over the years and this is the first one to stup me. any thoughts? By the way, I didn't have the older version for v3.6 on my board before this, just ran this one right out of the can. thanks for the time, great hack and would love to make it an option for my members

mauisun 05-18-2008 11:01 PM

Iok I fixed it, had to turn off auto template injection and now it is working, will check everything but looks good bro :)

cheat-master30 05-19-2008 07:14 PM

Installed, but a gallery to view the custom smilies by user would be nice.

bing11 05-19-2008 08:40 PM

Marcel Adam 05-19-2008 09:13 PM

So i got this error for each step but with different table names..

An error occurred while attempting to execute your query. The following information was returned.

error desc: Can't DROP 'mysmiliesvb_totalsize'; check that column/key exists

When i try to install now i get this error

Database error in vBulletin 3.7.0:

But if i go into phpmyadmin i can see DTP_mysmiles blah blah
and if i click on it i get 9 tables ......

i dont play in there very often but just went to look again.........last time i ticked them all and dropped them......me noob :D

So sorry to be a pain.

What I posted should have worked, so I can not suggest anything more without checking out your installation.

[s]If you want me to take a look then feel free to PM me your site address, a temp admin user (with admin permissions - Can Administer Settings for editing options, Can Administer Styles for editing templates, Can Administer Language Settings for editing phrases, Can Administer Plugins for editing products and plugins, and finally Can Run Maintenance Tools for running queries), and ftp access details, without these I can not help you. I will look when I have time, and even if I have a look, I can not guarantee that I will be able to fix it, if your site is not in English (I only read/write in English), so it is up to you what you want to do. You can revoke these after I have helped you out.[/s]

As the custom smilies are individual to a user, I do not see any point in having galleries, as no one else will be able to use them.

That is on my to-do list, once I have sorted the functionality for a base vBulletin installation [signatures, profile (visitor messages and albums) so far], and that will be a while yet, I still have my exams coming up, so will not be releasing the next main version, until at least the beginning of July (apart from maybe bug fixes).

Hi Mosh,

Thanks for looking into it so quickly.

Yes, I created a fresh unmodified style and it still happens. What I do is upload an attachment, then insert the attachment "inline" by clicking the attachment icon and then the name of the attached image to insert it "inline" in my post. At that point it looks fine, but after a refresh it shows "inline" and then again at the end of the post as an attachment. It's happening to all users in all browsers. Please see attached screenshot.

I still can not recreate this problem, so I am going to have to look at your installation.

what did i wrong?

I have absolutely no idea, I can not recreate that issue.

Nobody has commented on this in v3.5.x, v3.6.x or v3.7.x versions of this hack about this issue.

Give me some example of urls that you are using please, I will then use them to see if I can recreate the problem.

BTW, please click Mark as Installed if you are using this and want support.

Then It'd be nice to have an admin viewable list of all uploaded smilies to monitor them, since the only current ways I see are to either login as user or use FTP.

cheat-master30 05-22-2008 09:09 PM

Thanks. Just it would be helpful for moderating the smilies uploaded...

What about who have the 3.6.x version?
How can we upgrade?
Like a new install?

Just install it over the top of the old version. Click Mark as Installed if you use it.

Thanks, great hack install without any problem:)

Hi, I've installed this nice hack, but I've got an error:

Code:

Fatal error: Class 'vB_Upload_MySmiliesVbImage' not found in /home/candie/html/forum/mysmiliesvb.php on line 191

You did not upload class_dm_mysmiliesvb.php to your includes directory.

Damn, I was sure it would work in an upgrade scenario :(

OK, I have altered the import file (only for those upgrading from v3.6.x).

Try importing this file instead of the one with the .zip.

Let me know if it works. If it does, others getting this problem when upgrading from v3.6.x to v3.7.x can use this until I release the next version.

EDIT: Have removed the attachment, as I have released the bug-fix version v3.7.002 to rectify this issue that people who are upgrading from v3.6.x of this hack are having.

Cool, I am glad it works for you now :)

I have altered the first post to advise users to this if they are in the same situation as you.

Yeah thanks a lot, got it sorted now.
There was a table still in the DB that needed dropping.
All installed and working now

Thank You.

Update: v3.7.002
  • Fixed SQL Error problems some people upgrading from the v3.6.x version of this hack were having.

This is just a bug-fix release to fix the above issue.

There are no added features yet.

If you have NO problems with your installation, then do not bother to upgrade to this version.

redlabour 05-29-2008 06:14 PM

Nice one! :)

redlabour 05-30-2008 01:21 PM

Hmmm....small Bug(!?) - in Quotereplys the Smiliecode is shown but not the Smilie. This could be confusing in Discussions.

It is not a bug.....that is supposed to be the way it works, the replacement will only show in posts by the person who "owns" the custom smilie, quoting it would defeat the objective of the smilie belonging to the original poster. Also, it prevents conflicts if two users have the same replacement text, ie , which one would be used? It would take quite a bit more coding to get around that.

BigDog56 05-30-2008 02:05 PM

Works like a charm, thank you!

Seems simple - only allow Smiliecodes in the Way of ':CODEFORSMILIE:' for custom Smilies and prove that every Code only can be used one so nobody can use the same and produce conflicts.

Tom_S 06-02-2008 04:03 PM

I know you are busy busy but any chance of this working for the visitor messages any time soon? Super work on this btw!

Thanks in advance....

Running vBAdvanced CMPS the Quick Links for "My Smilies" defaults to the URL www.MyDomain/mysmiliesvb.php when it needs to be www.MyDomain/forums/mysmiliesvb.php I know IO need to add $vboptions[bburl] But I am not sure where it needs to be added.

Found a problem with the plug in.

I found that when posting in-line attachments, the plug in is causing both thumbnails to show, both in-line and in the attachment container below the post.

I reported this, too, and had to uninstall since it's still not resolved.

I could not recreate the problem when you originally reported this in the middle of May, and I did try and told you as much.

So, I asked for temp admin details to look at you installation. But instead of sending me the details I needed to help me track down the bug to help you, you un-installed the hack instead.

I can not fix what I can not re-create, and if you had allowed me to look at your installation at the time, this bug may well have been fixed by now.

John Stone 06-24-2008 11:08 AM

No offense (I'm sure you are a good person), but I don't know you. I'm not giving a perfect stranger admin privileges to my forum. I had no choice but to uninstall the hack. It's certainly not personal.
