We do not know when the pro version will be ready. It will be ready when it's ready.

Some of the features already are: Attachments, Subscriptions, sensitive data field, ect ect.

TheInsaneManiac, some nice suggestions. However, this will also probably be into the paid version.

We will have updates every now and again, where you can also renew access to the members area to get the latest version ect.

PoetJA-1975 05-04-2008 05:20 PM

I think for the lite version though - there should definitely be the option to make tickets viewable by all usergroups - just my opinion - It'd be a nice option to have - but definitely there will be others, as well as myself who will be looking into getting the professional version of the HelpCenter once it's made available - but yeah... Definitely the viewable by all usergroups option should be added.

Thanx again for the brilliant share and good luck with the project ;)

Jacquii.

PoetJA-1975 05-10-2008 12:52 AM

WONDERFUL - It's awesome to see the HelpCenter mod out of the graveyard!
Excellent work GUYS - I'll be looking forward to fixed download!
Congrats!

Jacquii.

PaulSonny 05-10-2008 06:27 AM

Updated the package.

Uninstall & Reinstall.

Thanks, Paul.

PoetJA-1975 05-11-2008 08:44 PM

Great! looks good PAUL!
As an FYI though - there's a query for an uncached template for hcenter_message

Thanx for the sharing though and congrats on getting the HelpCenter back online.

Jacquii.

EDITED:
ERG! Each time I create a new Department - it shows as closed and can't be seen online. Even when I edit the department to make it open - it still remains closed! Help! ERG!

PaulSonny 05-12-2008 10:47 AM

Sorry about that.

The 3.7 HelpCenter has the updated fix to the above problem. Use that download to update and I will update this when I get home.

Thanks, Paul.

chick 05-12-2008 01:10 PM

This is a great product and very useful. Using 3.6.8 p2 and testing it I get the following 2 errors in all browers. Hoping to fix this and use this product live. Thanks

edytwinky 05-12-2008 03:34 PM

Very cool mod. I will anxiously await the final version.

tschai 05-12-2008 04:46 PM

My quest just maybe over after all: great work!

Just wat I was looking for: a working version!

PaulSonny 05-12-2008 06:49 PM

chick uninstall and reinstall and make sure you set the Departments to Open.

Thanks everyone else for kind comments.

Thanks, Paul.

chick 05-12-2008 09:10 PM

Paul thank so much. They were set to open via helpcenter admin BUT when you save it OPEN , it saves closed. There is no way to force it to save as open.

So I uninstalled everything, product and php files. Reupped the files and the product.. no fix it is worse than before, now there is no where to click on at helpcenter.php page to submit a ticket in the left column, even after opening 2 departments which will not save open.

So I uninstalled and reinstalled again. Still the same. All plugin hooks were active. All files uploaded properly and to the right place.

Helpcenter admin settings all on.

I really would like to use this  There must be a glitch in the code somewhere though I'd have no idea where to look.

PaulSonny 05-13-2008 10:04 AM

Send me an admin login via PM and I will have a look for you.

Thanks, Paul.

chick 05-13-2008 12:33 PM

okay will do Paul

PoetJA-1975 05-14-2008 09:24 AM

Still same issue - reported again over at PaulSonny.com :(

Jacquii.

PaulSonny 05-14-2008 10:10 AM

Updated the download, I believe this now to be fixed?

Let me know if not.

Thanks, Paul.

chick 05-14-2008 07:51 PM

okay will do. I never went back to my test site so I don't know if you got in. I made an account and emailed you the login info from your paulsonny.com site using the 'contact us' form.

I'll wait to hear back before I do anything so in case you fixed it there. I don't want to screw it up.

PaulSonny 05-19-2008 10:43 AM

Sorry chick I didnt receive the email. I will have to check my email details on PaulSonny.

Have you managed to sort your problem yet?

Thanks, Paul.

PaulSonny 05-19-2008 03:31 PM

HelpCenter Gold has arrived!

I have made HelpCenter Gold because there has been no bug reports for over a week. I have fixed some very minor issues with the code, like confirmation screens and a new usergroup permission "Can View HelpCenter".

Please overwrite all existing files and re-import new product file.

Thanks, Paul.

PoetJA-1975 05-19-2008 06:47 PM

Very nice- So the gold version is the current upload?
Wow - Thanx so much PAUL!
When can we expect the Pro version to be released?
And how much is it going to be & What additional features will it have?
Quite excited about this = Thanx

Jacquii.

PaulSonny 05-21-2008 09:36 AM

I have updated the original download to fix a SQL syntax and the title validation. There is no need to uninstall, just overwrite.

The new version available is the Gold Verison yes :)

I'm not sure about the Pro Version, but we are keeping members informed on the development process.

Price has not yet been decided and unfortunately a definite feature list hasnt been prepared. We were waiting for HelpCenter to become stable before we start work on the Pro Version.

A features that we have talked about if a notification system were you can subscribe to a ticket, very similar to a thread subscription. Attachments has been another issue and I think SPAM control is going to be a feature.

Thanks, Paul.

Deadly Assassin 05-21-2008 11:00 AM

Thanks for the update.

This is ace.

chick 05-21-2008 06:16 PM

I just got to this Paul sorry I've been so busy. YES, this works perfectly. What an awsome mod. Great addition to any forum. Thank you Paul.

PaulSonny 05-21-2008 06:35 PM

Your welcome chick.

Glad it works for you now, sorry for any problems previously.

Thanks, Paul.

chick 05-21-2008 09:07 PM

I think this will be a BIG help to many forums and it's the best thing since baked bread, so to speak. Way to go Paul. I wish I knew how to make something, anything but alas I can only follow instructions somewhat. I am voting for it and nominating now.

Jase2 05-21-2008 09:10 PM

Thanks, chick! :)

PoetJA-1975 05-25-2008 02:11 AM

Oh Gawd!
Trying to install the newest version ((btw you need to update the version number in the 1st post...)) I get the following error when importing the product:

Quote:

A conflict was detected in the bitfields. You cannot continue with the installation of this product until this has been fixed. The conflicts found were:
  • Bitfield Collision: can_create_tickets = can_view_helpcenter
  • Bitfield Collision: can_edit_tickets = can_view_public_tickets

Help please. I was hoping to have this thing running before the weekend's over :(

Jacquii.

PoetJA-1975 05-27-2008 09:36 PM

Uh - hello?!?!?

Jacquii.

PaulSonny 05-29-2008 09:54 AM

Sorry about the late response Jacquii, I have been away for bank holiday weekend with my fiancee to celebrate our anniversary.

I changed the bitfield around in the new version, could you possibly try removing the bitfield file and then re-upload it and see if this corrects the error?

Thanks, Paul.

PoetJA-1975 05-30-2008 12:04 AM

Thanx PAUL - Hope you had a lovely holiday weekend ;)

Jacquii.

PaulSonny 05-30-2008 09:10 AM

Thanks Jacquii it was lovely, Aysha really enjoyed herself so thats all that matters. :)

Anyway, did that solve your problem? If not ill be happy to take a look :)

Thanks, Paul.

PoetJA-1975 05-30-2008 07:04 PM

Aysha? What a beautiful name! I love the spelling...
Anyway - yes - I've installed and it works wonderfully now. I think the issue may have been something else though... I thought I had deleted the files that were part of the earlier HelpCenter - apparently I did not - so I deleted the files via ftp and then simply uploaded the new files, importing the product anew... Worked just fine.

I thank ya for the help and for the beautiful modification.

I have a suggestion though - I've put the forum that posts the original HelpCenter topic in the JPiC Staff Zone. It'd be very interesting to have it so that whenever a Moderator or Admin posts in the Staff Zone thread - that it actually updates the original HelpCenter post with comment as well. Would be a very nice feature IMO.

Anyway - Thanx again = Cheers ;)

Jacquii.

PoetJA-1975 05-31-2008 05:01 AM

OK - You can see the the specific issue at http://jpicforum.info/helpcenter.php?do=ticket&tid=2

The text doesn't seem to parse correctly in the replies. Where the following text is how it should be formatted:

Quote:

Well - You've started in the right place! Welcome to JPiC :jpicwelcome: -- Navigating the Forum is not as difficult as it may seem upon 1st glance. We have the main navigation bar which allows you to browse most forum features with a simple click or 2 ((see the pic below))

We also have a section of JPiC Video Tutorials that you may want to watch... The tutorials are in need of update - but they do offer an inciteful look into navigating the forum and performing certain forum procedures.

Finally - As seen in the 2nd pic below - We've made posting on JPiC as easy as a 1-click process.

Any further questions? Feel free to ask right here.

Thanx and Happy posting.

Jacquii.
It always looks like the following when either editing the reply OR simply posting a reply - Looks like the text is scrunched up and the line breaks aren't parsed:

Would love a fix for this issue! Um - you may tell from viewing the JPiC link I provided... I've edited the templates to suit my need. I do not think I've editing anything in particular that would have any influence on how the text is parsed though.

Thanx and I've posted this on PaulSonny.com as well. I'm using vB 3.6.8 PL2 ;)

Jacquii.

PaulSonny 06-09-2008 11:48 AM

Sorry about the slow response time's Jacquii we've been working flat out.

Anyway 1.01 is here, just overwrite everything.

Thanks, Paul.

PoetJA-1975 06-09-2008 09:18 PM

Kewl! Questions: Which templates have been edited? What (if any) additional features have been added? And has the parse issue above been fixed?

Thanx PAUL!

Jacquii.

raagaswaram 06-23-2008 01:34 AM

PoetJA-1975 07-10-2008 09:35 AM

Thanks, Paul.

PoetJA-1975 07-10-2008 05:32 PM

Thanx PAUL - getting things situated - I didn't realize it was gonna be such a HUGE thing lol - but yeah - things are falling into place - Gotta brandnew custom style that I'm loving very much.

Jacquii.

Jase2 07-15-2008 08:44 PM

Glad to see you've managed to get everything running smoothly. :)

-- Jason
