Let me see your Replacement HTML code and see if I can't track down the problem

bloodychunk 04-10-2008 10:15 PM

Here it is:

Code:

<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" title="Download $title!">
        <tr>
                <td>
                        <a href="http://www.zshare.net/download/$p1" target="_blank">
                                <div style="background-image:url('images/misc/zhare1.png');background-repeat:no-repeat;width:70px;height:57px;cursor:hand;"></div>
                        </a>
                </td>
                <td>
                        <a href="http://www.zshare.net/download/$p1" target="_blank">
                                <div style="background-image:url('images/misc/zhare2.png');background-color:transparent;font-family:Arial;font-size:large;color:#FF6600;letter-spacing:0px;text-align:center;height:57px;background-repeat:repeat-x;cursor:hand;text-decoration:none">
                                <div style="white-space:nowrap;margin-top:5px;text-decoration:none;">
                                        <span style="text-decoration:none">Download $title!</span>
                                </div>
                                </div>
                        </a>
                </td>
                <td>
                        <a href="http://www.zshare.net/download/$p1" target="_blank">
                                <div style="background-image:url('images/misc/zshare3.png');width:17px;height:57px;background-position-x:right;cursor:hand;"></div>
                        </a>
                </td>
        </tr>
</table>

Digital Jedi 04-10-2008 10:27 PM

Ah, I think I see the problem. Right above the second instance of Download $title, there this line:

PHP Code:

<div style="white-space:nowrap;margin-top:5px;text-decoration:none;"

margin-top: should be 21px, instead of 5px. That should take care of your alignment problem. It should still align right with Contain on now too.

bloodychunk 04-10-2008 10:57 PM

I tried and it didnt.. but then I made it 0px and it worked... but how can i put the text inside?

Digital Jedi 04-10-2008 11:19 PM

That should have really worked. 0px means it will align with the top of the div container. 21px will center it right in front of the background image. Are you sure the line you changed looked exactly like this?:

PHP Code:

<div style="white-space:nowrap;margin-top:21px;text-decoration:none;"

elviejoepu 04-11-2008 12:10 AM

Everything is awsome!
but... gameopoly and embedgames dont work for me... i try with the url, and with the embed code and nothing.

Digital Jedi 04-11-2008 01:39 AM

Let me see your site where the link isn't working and/or an example of the URL your using.

Not sure why it did not show.

Rapidphim, sorry for the delay. My site went down twice today for extended periods. The link you had posted was this TheGioiFilm.com video, I believe. I think what you need to do is delete the the Daily Motion definition you currently have, then download and import the one in my ZIP file. See if you still have the same problems after that. I think your using one of the old ones from when the site had a different URL structure.

LOL That made me laugh a little. Not anything you did, but something I didn't take into consideration when I made the definition. What's happening is I didn't take into consideration that sometimes the ending slash wouldn't always be in the URL in some cases. It's real easy to fix, and I'll have the new definition uploaded in a moment. You can actually take care of this yourself though, if you want. All you have to do is open the Embed Games definition in your AME CP and in the Regular expression box you'll see this:

PHP Code:

http://www\.embedgames\.com/play/([\w-]*)/

Add another * to the very end after the trailing slash. That should fix it for you.

Actually, this is what I was going to work on next, I've just been having tons of server trouble the last few weeks. I didn't want to say anything until I was sure I could make it work, but I'll definitely give it a shot. I don't really foresee any problems with it, though.

elviejoepu 04-11-2008 08:02 PM

Thanks.... I made exacly you say, but it dint work...

This ones dont works for me...

gameopoly
embed games
imeem (i just try the playlist)
and slide

Digital Jedi 04-11-2008 09:18 PM

Are you posting the Embed Codes from those sites, or are you posting the URLs? Because I'm seeing embed code all over your site. Your just supposed to post the URLs, not the embed code.

Digital Jedi 04-11-2008 10:39 PM

UDPATES!

I had not looked at the Amazon links as closely as I had done for the video/audio definitions. So I rebuilt both the Thumbnail and Links definitions for Amazon to include support for almost all of Amazon's foreign language sites, with the exception of China (www.amazon.cn). That said, I will take a look at .cn and see if I can get it working. It will need a separate definition because that site is structured completely different from the other Amazon sites.

Delete your old Amazon (Links) and Amazon (Thumbnails) files and import these two new ones, which include support for Amazon.co.uk (United Kingdom), .co.jp (Japan), .ca (Canada), .fr (France) and .de (Germany). I will work on support for .cn (China), separately, provided I can figure out their URL structure.

As with any update I post, these have been added to the Master XML as well as the main ZIP.
Note: Since I built this off of my own site, my site's affiliate tags are in there (citofgamonlco-20). You can replace them with your own, take them out or leave them in. Just thought I'd let you know they were there.

In addition, near as I can tell, sometimes an Amazon product just doesn't have a thumbnail. So you'll get an empty box with a link, but it will still look kind of nice. I'll see if I can't track down why this happens.

Hornstar 04-12-2008 12:55 AM

IS there a way to delete all definitions and then just upload your full package?

Hornstar 04-12-2008 01:53 AM

Also some of my videos on my site are saying when you play it, this video is no longer available, however you then go onto youtube and the video plays fine. eg. http://www.gamerzneeds.net/forums/an...396-397-a.html

also, that video is also posted here http://www.gamerzneeds.net/forums/an...-part-3-a.html
and it works find in that one.

Any idea what is wrong?

the video link is http://youtube.com/watch?v=ppfoKA0CZ8o

You can do that. But you have to delete all your existing definitions manually, one by one. Then upload the Master XML file.

This happens every so often, because it's an option in a YouTube account. Take a look at the page the video is on at YouTube again. http://youtube.com/watch?v=ppfoKA0CZ8o See where the embed code is underneath the description of the video? Instead of code, it says "Embedding disabled by request". You wont be able to convert videos where the owner has disabled embedding. You'll still get a player, but no video.

(Also note, you have two different videos here. The first one you gave me is a Naruto video, and the second one is about Bleach. The Naruto one is the one with embedding disabled.)

Hornstar 04-12-2008 03:43 PM

yeah thanks.

is there any possibility of being able to delete all definitions in 1 go instead of 1 by 1, it would take forever with the amount we now have lol.

Digital Jedi 04-12-2008 06:33 PM

I'm afraid not, no. Unfortunately, this isn't something the mod was designed to do.

NeverBored 04-12-2008 08:32 PM

Just an idea, but if you want to delete all the definitions, uninstall and reinstall the ame product... Should have no problems doing this, besides having to rebuild the posts probably, but you'd want to do that after editing the definitions anyways.

I'm not sure I would want to do this, with close to a million posts it is quite an intensive thing to do.

plus I have not noticed any videos now showing after removing the old definitions and installing the new ones.

UPDATES!

This will probably be the last update for a little while, baring any requests or new one's made by the community. I stumbled across three definitions AdemGEN? had made, so I went through them, updated them because the sites had changed their URL structures again, and put them in this new update.

The updates include:

Bebo (Does not embed most recent KateModern videos)
Izlesene
Izleturk
Mynet Eksenim
Raw Vegas
RockYou
SlideShare
YouKu
YouKu (Playlists)

EDIT: I fixed MyNet to work with their new site, and I thought I'd just throw Bebo in there, too, since I got it working. The only thing Bebo will not work with, is the most recent videos posted by one of their sponsored video bloggers, KateModern. I'm afraid this particular problem can't be fixed.

Hotwheels made one of these already here, but I'm afraid I can't test it for you. I mentioned this in the other thread, but basicaly, I'm a stay-at-home dad, and my computer is smack dab in the middle of the living room. I'd have some serious 'splainin' to do. :D

eBaum's World is currently on my "no-fly" list. :D That said, it is one of those sites that should be working, but for some reason doesn't when try it. So I keep going to back to it everytime I learn something new about the Extract Destination Data feature, which I don't know as well as I think I do. eBaum's World and IGN are two examples of those sites that should work and don't for some reason. So I'll keep going back to them until I figure it out.

I would need some kind of embed code to reference to get it to work. From what saw, I didn't see any kind of embed ability. Just thumbnail and forum links.

First thing you need to do extract the contents of the ZIP folder for AME 1.2. Then all you need to do is upload the contents of your upload folder to whatever folder you keep your forums in. (Take a look at the contents of that folder. See how it has a folder called admincp, includes and images? That's the same structure your website has. So if your site uses a forum folder to hold your forum, upload that over your forum folder. If it doesn't, just upload the contents of the forum folder over everything else. As long as your maining that folder tree structure, your putting them in the right place). Then just import the XML file though your Admin CP >>> Plugins & Products >>> Manage Products >>> [Add/Import Product] >>> EITHER upload the XML file from your computer.

My Media Definitions are only added after you've installed AME successfully. They're imported through the AME CP, which you won't have until you install AME. You'll want to delete the default definitions one by one that come with AME, as most of them are outdated. Then all you'd do is Import the Master XML file, and that will add every definition the community has made to date. The ZIP file is for people who don't want every definition, or who already have most of the definitions and just want to add a site they don't already have.

Does anyone have the "locally hosted" videos/mp3s working? I have the expressions from the file 'Local Hosted Video.zip' installed, and replaced the reference to the board URL as instructed. A test post with a few attached multi-media files is showing as it always has, the files just show up as attached and there's no embedded player.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

There's nothing unusual about their embed code that should be making it difficult.

I don't use the local hosted myself. But so far, no one had reported a problem with them, so I simply included them in a separate ZIP. Let me see an example URL that isn't converting for you. It might be something as simple as a file tree difference.

No problem. I hope they come in handy.

Rop 04-17-2008 04:22 PM

Thanks for the reply Jedi!
Possibly I misunderstand the use or meaning of "locally hosted". What I envisioned was that user would be able to upload/attach video content and AME would present that in the post with an embedded player. I've made a little test post at my forum with an .wmv and .mp3 attachment, see http://www.greenpowertalk.org/showthread.php?t=5039, both attachments are showing as regular attachments, no embedded player(s). Besides the local stuff, AME works like a charm.

Ah, I see. I don't think the definitions where meant to convert attachments. The reason being is that there's no real way to distinguish a document attachment from a media attachment using a RegEx. What it's supposed to do is convert the actual URL of your locally hosted media. For example, if you were to upload the quote-beth.wmv to a folder on your site, you would post the actual location of quote-beth.wmv. For example, http://www.greenpower.org/media/quote-beth.wmv would be converted into a media player.
