I just added a thread in the adminCP options, but after that it does not show in adminCP. When browsing the affected forum, I can just browse anywhere without any effect.
Do you have any ideas to solve this? |

What if you have vbSEO installed and it rewrites your URL so you don't know what your thread ID is?
|
Does this have the ability to set the frequency, without reseting it manually?

How would I go about customizing the message that it displays?

Abe, i just tried to install this mod onto Beta 5 and i saw your instructions:

I had this working fine yesterday, now today the ACP does not show the option to add or change the thread anymore. The thread we used for a test is being read by all members.
Other suggestion- Instructions are not clear, I think some people may be taking an entire thread URL and pasting it into the thread ID box. What goes there is only the number of the thread, nothing else. That's why some of you do not see the thread. Try just he thread id number... |
To add: I can access the edit option by direct-typing the url to the control- "/admincp/force_read_thread.php"

Now some members say it keeps making them read the topics over and over...

Great mod and it works for most of my members, but I've had two members (so far) out of a total of 300 registered members and 50 who have logged in since I enabled the mod, who get stuck and can't access the site.
They see the splash screen (The Admin wants you to read this thread), but when they click on the link, they get an error screen so can't continue in to the site. Member #1 contacted me with this message Quote:

Installed and works great. Thanks

Installed and works but....when I enable the product my forum is noticeably slower. Any ideas why?

I have a fairly large forum and when I enable this it also is noticeably slower and the loads really shoot up there. Maybe not meant for large forums?
|
It would be very nice to know this.

I had the 3.6 version installed. I disabled all of my plugins before updating from 3.6.10 to 3.7 gold. The Force read wasn't working. So I uninstalled and then installed the latest version. I can get it to work, but what about the old threads that I had made force-read with the 3.6.x version? I'm getting vb db errors in my email due to those threads. It seems I have no way to manage the previous force-read threads now that I've upgraded the plugin. And even before I upgraded, I still couldn't manage them because the link in "thread tools" was gone. How can I fix this?

Reserved :D

Great mod :)
Can I just ask, does this mod work if a user is logged in already as "remember me"? Cheers  |

Very nice! Installed! Excellent work!

Brilliant hack, thank you. One question though, how do you force guests? I cannot see that option. Is it in the usergroup box? Because in there is no guests usergroup.
|
Cloverfield, when you force a thread on the users, you can choose user groups. I just tested it with guests and it works fine.
Great hack, Abe1. Works great on 3.6.x. Thanks bunches! |
When im adding a new thread to force, there is nothing on list when i click 'save'
