Same as nymyth, I couldn't get the font part to work but I kept the color one as my members want that more..

I also added a ton more colors!

nymyth 06-04-2008 03:10 PM

I used another edit...the link is posted somewhere in this thread...it works great

Peace

g0dfather1984 06-06-2008 02:39 AM

Works great! Thanks!

SessizDunya 06-20-2008 07:46 AM

Nice Hack...

But I don't want the old post's font and color to be changed after I install this hack. For example; I posted some threads before I use this hack and I used some specific font and colors. After I install this hack, the old threads are also changing. Is there any way to adjust this hack for only new posts?

By the way I add the codes @ postbit template. When I added to postbit_legacy, the hack is not working.

Any Ideas?

Thanks for the hack. I just installed this (on 3.7.0 Gold) and it works great.

I found a reason...some of the fonts (such as Garamond) at their default size are much smaller that what we are ued to with the Verdana default. Increasing the size is necessary to help people be able to read your post without a magnifying glass.

It appears that we can allow a default size to be selected by using the same method as you used for the font and color. Just need a third new profile field and a third font tag in the postbit.

Agreed. Woluld love to see a size option too!

Yasser Mohammed 07-19-2008 01:08 AM

thank you for this nice hack

just font ok with me ?!

I`m use 3.7.2 Level 1

apiasto 08-19-2008 02:56 PM

nice hack thnx, would you be adding bold n italic options in future?

AuroraStorm 08-20-2008 09:02 PM

Question: What do you do when you want to revert back to the default color? For example, if a person uses the default color "black" and others are using a black skin, they won't be able to see the font color so if a person wants to use no color and make his account default to whatever font color, what do you select?

I hope I explained that right...

teenhut 08-21-2008 06:22 AM

I love you :D

Keep a blank option on top. Like DEFAULT - no selection. Then the top one will be a blank. People can select the blank option and it reverts to default.

AuroraStorm 08-30-2008 06:54 PM

ah...I see...thank you...

Greek76 08-31-2008 05:11 PM

I did exactly the same thing for the font size which worked but the problem is everyone's size font changed with it. The style and color worked great.

SnapOff Racing 09-03-2008 01:07 AM

seen this asked many times with no answers...when's the bold feature going to be available

Gosef 09-19-2008 11:24 AM

thank you

SPARKS MAN 09-22-2008 07:26 PM

its very good i try it
but there is small side effect in it this when some one adding an URL
its applying style on it and make the URL big
specially when URL is very long and the font style chosen was big

Is there any news about usergroup permissions? I would love to install this for my premium members...

Lovinmysailor 11-08-2008 09:47 PM

Nice hack!!

If you want font size you just make another profile field with the same options the OP posted.
after this
<font COLOR="$post[fieldX]"><font face="$post[fieldX]">

add this

<font size="$post[fieldX]"> be sure you write the correct field number in!!

Thanks Alott

I can't believe this hasn't been built into vb yet.

I added this mod, but it's sort of bugging me that it changes old posts' fonts and that when a user with default formatting is quoted that it doesn't carry over into the quote box in the new thread.

*installed, but not convinced it's exactly what I was looking for*

Seshat Diva 03-07-2009 01:06 AM

Perfect, installed, exactly what I wanted! Thank you!

Update~ Installed but not working. It's in the UserCP/Edit Details as it should be but when I direct what font and color I want to use and save, it doesn't work. I'm not sure what I did wrong.......sigh......

Mellymonster 03-13-2009 04:05 PM

Seshat Diva, its not working for me either.

Mellymonster 03-13-2009 04:30 PM

Never Mind I was putting in the wrong filedX hehe

joe1989 03-15-2009 06:43 PM

Why does this work for some of us and not for others???

Notice to new members: Don't waste your time installing this until support is offered. It is not working properly for most of us, and it took a decent amount of time to do, so DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH IT unless you are certain it will work!! (Most likely will not work!!)

Lovinmysailor 03-17-2009 01:39 AM

Worked fine for me. PM me and I would be happy to help.

ascendan 05-20-2009 02:26 PM

Worked for me as well, but the colors were really off. Haha.

Edit: Works perfectly now. Also added the font size as well.

goxy63 06-01-2009 10:24 AM

These template edits are not working if you are using this hack
Chief First Post - Every Page [Forum Based]
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showt...=194832&page=3
If you setup within mentioned hack "no comment type" or postbit flipped" option these templates will not work
Does anyone know way around this !?

iBetc 06-02-2009 03:02 PM

Awesome, thanks!

jaredwilli 06-05-2009 07:54 PM

its not working for me and I did everything correctly

SnapOff Racing 07-15-2009 02:42 AM

Anyone know how to make this work with vba CMPS?

Lovinmysailor 10-20-2009 02:22 PM

I am using VBA CMPS and it is working fine. PM me with your code or post it (whatever you want) and I will help you.

TypeStaff 10-25-2009 11:23 PM

I had the same problem, had to hire someone to get it working for me. It worked great :) until my site was upgraded to the 4.0 version. :(

I really liked having this hack/product when it finally worked. Now since my upgrade to the 4.0 version, it doesn't work anymore.

Is there a new 4.0 version update for the "User Font and Post Color"? Please and thank you! :)

K!nG 06-16-2011 09:27 PM

Hi,
I don't think its gonna work on 4.1.4 but i am gonna try this cux my forum users are asking for it (majority of them) i tried to look around for this mod for 4.x.x version but can't find nowhere. i will update this post to let ya all know if it worked or not :(
