it wouldn't be the first time. i still have two confirmed bugs that have been around since 3.6.5 that they won't address. they just claimed fixed (when it's not) or "not a but" which it is, or cannot reproduce, when they won't follow my steps to do it 100% on a default setup. crazy!

dtzy 07-27-2007 05:28 PM

great, I will get it upgraded.

Kirk Y 07-27-2007 06:05 PM

What's everyone think of the new Style Manager font? I think it looks pretty spiffy.

tipoboy 07-27-2007 06:13 PM

i like it, better than the plain text makes me want to do more code orientated mods lol

inteller2k7 07-27-2007 08:51 PM

It installed 123, for me, and my hacks were fine

Anybody want to list what hacks worked ok? I'm seriously reluctant to go through this hell again.

When you're editing a template, the font has changed. I haven't looked at Plugins yet, they may well too have been changed.

Paul M 07-27-2007 09:17 PM

Erm, okay ........................... :erm:

(I think you will find I've announced most of the updates )

*Shrugs* - I haven't noticed any difference.

Maybe I'll look again when I return. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

You're using Vista (or have Office 2007). XP (or other OS's) don't have the font called 'consolas'
But I still think lucida console is much better.
I hate the fact that they use specific font names rather than the generic font families.

JJX 07-29-2007 10:43 AM

Just done my first upgrade, was pretty painless. Took me just under half an hour, but that included reverting all the templates and manually editing them all.

What's the best way to deal with template changes? There must be a simpler way than going back through the instructions for each mod and manually editing all the updated temples.

our vBulletin (3.6.7) does not appear to be running the version that was downloaded (3.6.8).

Kirk Y 07-30-2007 12:41 AM

According to El_Muerte, you have to either be running Vista or have Office 2007. But if you take a look at the screenshot I added in my previous post, there is certainly a difference.

kollam003 07-30-2007 05:41 AM

Installed 3.6.8 but very fast update came from 3.6.7pl..... anyway all went well and its up fine .

Why don't you fully support Opera yet? Opera is the fastest and safest browser! Yet you disabled by default WYSIWYG and some other things.

It's possible it also came with other Microsoft products (like Visual Studio 2008 beta or something).

Anyway, you can download the font here (if you have visual studio 2005): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

But be warned, consolas is a crappy font when you don't have font smoothing enabled

Same thing happened for me.
Double check your file uploads.
I had missed one.

Because of the mandatory template edits you must have a 3.6.8 style in order for it to work without problems. (Though a small number of skins may work without adverse effects).

El_Muerte 07-30-2007 05:41 PM

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... I'm having a problem with the text editor in private messages. All of the other text editors are fine, but the PM editor is messed up when replying to or forwarding a PM. See the screenie.

Anyone have any idea what I can do?

EDIT: N/M - fixed :D

I've been using vBulletin for 2+ years, and as much time as I've spent developing modifications - it's difficult to miss. ;)
