And congratulations to vBulletin.org for actually being a large forum which has hired staff from active members rather than those who you barely see post at all and return twice a month (that's a compliment by the way).

unless i'm mistaken, i don't believe any staff position is a "hired" (paid for) position?

UltimateOreo! 07-14-2007 06:11 PM

Weird, I got a PM saying I got in on the "Advisor" position, but It isn't aknowledged anywhere. Ah, crap! I was skipped!

Possibly a runner up

Snake 07-14-2007 06:17 PM

Thanks to all! I'm sure you definitely deserve the position. =]

UltimateOreo! 07-14-2007 06:22 PM

Haha, I figured it out. I never actually accepted the postion. A qoute from the PM-

Oh, lmao, I can't believe I didn't read the entire thing. Of course I accept, thats why I applied! I really appreciate it! BTW, Sorry for my recent inactivity, Reformatting is tough when you didn't know that your disk drive was broken

I couldn't accept it because I couldn't even get on vbulletin.org!

Just a quick question, do we get to do the "V" for our avatar?

Welcome to the party. :D

B.Y.O.B. ?? :)

King Kovifor 07-14-2007 07:37 PM

Quick Question:

acidburn0520 - I can't find his profile anywhere... Did he get a name change?

NVM... Figured out that he is Kirk Y. Might want to change that on the first post.

Make a "Double Stuffed Oreo" :p
add a big red cape and a lightning bolt and a "V" on it
add some sun glasses

UltimateOreo! 07-14-2007 07:57 PM

Hmm, do I get to have a name change? I haven't used this username in months. James C. or something would be good. :p

PixelFx 07-14-2007 09:23 PM

congrats guys :D

UltimateOreo! 07-14-2007 11:17 PM

Well, that's interesting. Just taking a peek around, and saw that all of the new staff has at least a 4 or higher release level. Congrats to Atakan KOC for having the highest release level, with 8.

Distance 07-14-2007 11:36 PM

I am sure the release level has little to do with there decision, you don't need to be a master coder to enforce rules and be a value to the community ;)

Paul M 07-14-2007 11:50 PM

I can safely say that release level was never even thought about, let alone checked.

UltimateOreo! 07-14-2007 11:51 PM

Exactly, which is why I pointed it out. It wouldn't be as "intriguing" if it was taken into much consideration.

EnIgMa1234 07-14-2007 11:52 PM

Congrats to everyone

Mazinger 07-15-2007 12:32 AM

Kirk Y 07-15-2007 12:34 AM

I changed my Username, thus making the link no longer work. ;)

Guest190829 07-15-2007 12:36 AM

I edited the original post...that's what I get for being lazy and not using userids in the parameter. :)

nexialys 07-15-2007 12:36 AM

acid is now a placeholder for the spam bot.. lol

Guest190829 07-15-2007 01:39 AM

Please stay on topic with the thread. Any matters involving specific members or sites should be done privately with staff via PM. Thanks :)

The old hierarchy of customer staff, coding staff and design staff didn't last long, did it? ;)

mac27 07-15-2007 05:13 PM

Yes congrats to all.

I'm not sure how that's relevant, but they went six months ago. :)

That's correct. No one at vb.org is paid.

It's not temporary jobs. Something else probably happen which won't be discuss.

Anyways, congrat to those who made it to the vB.org staff.

And good luck to the future staffs :)

I thought Marco was a paid Jelsoft employee...

Paul M 07-16-2007 06:54 AM

Marco is paid for the support work he does for Jelsoft, not his involvement here.

Sorry, but what do modeators gain from being volunteers here?

like on most forums where people are volunteered... nothing but self satisfaction of helping others...

if you go and be moderator in a forum in the goal of gaining something, you're at the wrong stage of the volunteering

Powers to do stuff like lock topics, delete others posts and edit the posts of others... and to first hand stop flame wars and spam topics maybe? Either way, I guess being a mod here is probably like being a mod on any other forum; voluntary and for the satisfaction of helping others.

The point of volunteering isn't for personal gain or benefit; it's to help out.
