Example in the regular search hat - no results because of 3 letter word hat stand - no results because of 3 letter word in phrase stand - produces results Example with this mod: hat stand - produces some results because it bypasses the 3 letter word error |
I love this idea, vbulletin should have this built in.
but the first search I did "a family guy" changed my search to "fmily" when I search for "b family guy" then it searches for "family" like it is suppose to. I just searched for "I family" and it was changed to "famly" so it seems to do it with other characters also. |
Hack Updated!
22/07/2007 - Version 1.2 - Fixed Letter Instances Issue |
Great hack Dismounted...;)
One little glitch: the automatic version checking from ACP doesn't work. Could you look into it? I just upgraded to 1.2 and if I do the check version it tells me last version is 1.0. Thanks for your work. :) |

Very nice, just upgraded from VB 3.6.1 to 3.6.8 and I thought my members were going to lynch me.
|
Such a great hack! Great Job! Thanks!
|
thx :)
|
Brilliant dismounted, jelsoft should have thought of this.I always hate that "too short message".
|
hum, btw, a little note... why do you add a setting to activate it, if the only thing we need to do is deactivate the product if we do not need it?!... this is redundant and add more entries to the settings table... my 2?.. ;)
btw, where is the vote button? |
Yeah, it's just a habit really. The vote button is under "Mod Information" :).
|
Sorry to say that i had a problem installing. Does it work on 3.5.x?
|
Yes, but you need to remove all instaces of this in the product install file:
Code:
executionorder="5" |
thanks man
|
Very nice modification, thank you for this!
|
This should be part of vbulletin. Thanks for the hack!!
|
I had this installed, but it isn't allowing users to use the words in my 'goodwords' options. Looking at the code, it looks like my users should be able to search for these 'goodwords', but they aren't. I'm running 3.6.8 PL2. Is anyone else seeing this problem?

There seems to be a bug with searches wrapped in quotes.
When I search for "Sketches By Boz" with Continue Search enabled, the result is no matches and the text in the search form is changed to "sketches*boz". When I search for "Sketches By Boz" with Continue Search disabled, the proper matches are returned. |
I'll have a look at it.
|
will this work in 3.7 RC1
|
This is standard functionality in vBulletin 3.7.
|
works great on 3.8.2

There is no need for this mod in 3.8.* and 3.7.* as this is standard functionality in vBulletin. |
