EDIT: vbBux import is successful... i'll be writing an import script by the morning so before noon i'll be able to provide a working import script that will not stress your forums... and you will be able to deactivate vbBux after that. (don't delete right away, maybe you will regret it!)

as i have the script in hand, i will try to provide as much hooks as possible replicating the behavior inside vbBux... so the places where the points were gained/lost, etc... i'm not duplicating the system, i'm locating where it was used before and will apply my API to it... (the API will come later today too! - remember, this is a BETA script)

hey, your comment in the payment is useless... it's already too much... i did not require a single penny for this job, i coded it for my own personal profits anyway... i will do a lot of business with this script.. :)

release the next version, with the hooks so the coders here can add permissions etc to the gadget
release the API so coders can add the points system to other tools
feed the kids!!

the first final will be up this evening, because the only thing that is actually in need is the vbBux importer, and i'm stressing the script now to see if it works...

after that, i'll add the addons via products, or plugins, not updates... the more features it would have, the heavier it would be and useless... the core is simple, the features will be added as plugins.

OK I had changed the name of the points to make it more to our site and that is why they were not showing up. I changed it back to points and now it works. :)

no, it is because you installed it before i make the switch to show it or not, and the new setting was not taken into consideration, so that's why it was not showing.. you can try and rename your points again, it is supposed to work now...

some guys already faced that error between the versions...

There is still no bank right? Just want to be sure because no points transfered for that. And also, how does this tie in with the plaza and gifts and so on? My members LOVED that part. Can it still be used, or should I uninstall it all and add ishop?

@LisaDJ... actually, the script is supposed to import the cash in the bank too... but there is no bank system in this new script, someone have to build one (or wait 'til i build it)...

for the shop, this is one of the biggest part, and i'm not coding any, because i don't need any... iShop is working, and i'm sure someone will be able to drive a real fully features one in the next weeks...

I don't have an issue with installing ishop, I just wanted to make sure first. And I can install ibank if that is needed too.

i'm sure the iShop and iBank will answer some uses, but i'm also sure that other coders will be able to develop other alternatives, depending on the needs...

i personally am interested into commercial tools for this points system, like the Geek Mart integration... but i'm not interested in any bank or shop, because my clients are not interested to use them... that's why i made it pluggable...

I tried entering 0.05 and 0.02 points per thread but did not work when i tried to post or reply..

My aim here is to create a money system where it will displayed as $1.05 or something in the postbit...

you want your points to be "$1.05"...

if you read your points, they are 105 coins (1 dollar and 5 coins) ...

so you will have to add "Coin Name", AND "Money Name"... AND add a "Coin Multiplier" of 100....

the display is not actually displaying the real value of the points, this is one of the things i have to fix before the GOLD release... but you can start working like this...

i know it is a lot different from the vBbux, and other points system, but there is a reason: "Real Life"...

this system is to be used for commercial uses also, not only points and shops... a lot of sponsors and eShops are interested to have real values to their points... so 100 cents mean 1 dollar ... 100 "points" mean one "big point"... other RPG works the same way... the logic is for the real life, not some kind of false evaluation given by some old cash systems.

Ok... can someone give some examples on how they use the point system

Here is my basic assumption...People build points and then get prizes?

1 -How have others determined the payouts or when ppl get rewarded... Are cash payouts done?

2 -I have members who are very active in the forum and can easily rack up points... How do you avoid abuse?

Just wanna see some examples and logic behind it...

3 -As for customization... say i don't wanna reward points for posts... but I have my own custom vbpages that have forms that add/submit data using CLASS_DM's.... is it easy to capture?
