Im NEED this add-on!!!!!!! Subscribed:)
I'm also interested in some sort of vb garage.
Is anyone working on this or do I have to start coding?
John |
Any updates!!!
I need this mod too! WOOT!
I created my own garage system on phpbb which ultimately got stolen by these phpbbgarage guys without giving me or the original coders credit. I will code something very soon off my phpbb garage system for the vb system because I need it. Will keep you guys posted. Will start working on it in next few weeks. |
Any news guys, would love something like the phpbb garage for my forum.:)
There's a garage hack already available...do a search for vbGarage. ;)
vBGarage is not what anyone is looking for. It's just a glorified vBPicGallery....
There are a lot of us anxiously awaiting this update which will actually be useful. |
Hoooo crap. I had no idea that I responded to a 4 page thread! I found this through searching...and just replied without checking to see how many pages. I must have come off like an azz. Sorry about that. LOL. :D
After reading the thread, I see it's merits...lol...what a day. |
I'm anything but a php guy - I actually came over from IPB. phpbbgarage is probably the only thing 'superior' that phpbb has going for it, it is very well done.
But in your defense, there are a lot of people who ask for a garage without doing a search first :) |
LOL. I changed my snarky comments...my apologies for being an azz! :D
I am interested in this as well...
I run www.minitrucker.org and need a member ride mod, I am thinking of using vb garage, but the only thing I do not like is not being able to have multiple rides. |
phpgarage is actually just a port of the Fusion Scripts Garage module (http://www.fusionscripts.com/products/ports/). Do a search for Fusion Scripts on here, and you will find that I mentioned this quite awhile ago. I had actually talked to one of the vB programmers (can't remember his name off the bat, but he is the one who does all the vBGallery mods), and he was looking into porting it for vB. He actually had even been in contact with the Fusion Script developers and got their permission to port it over. This was probably a year or so ago, so I'm not sure if he ever made any progress.
On a side note, and I know I've mentioned this before... the mod is already out there, but the sites that have it don't seem to want to share. http://www.fordforums.com/garage/ http://www.dodgetalk.com/forums/garage.php |
If someone PM's me with the phpBB files, I will give porting it a shot :)
You should just be able to DL the package from the phpbbgarage website (www.phpbbgarage.com). The original module by Fusion Scripts was done for Invision Power Board (IPB), so not sure which would be the easier one to port.
I'm interested in this as well.

As I stated above, it is a vB port of the Fusion Scripts garage module, just as the phpbbgarage is. The problem is, is that the admins of dodgetalk and fordforums are not willing to share the code with others (as I have emailed both and not recieved replies). |

Our site has been without a garage for too long and it's becoming very frustrating not having it. |
I need this too... i dont mind paying.
This would be nice!
I would like this as well, we used to use it on clubaristo.net before we moved the forum from phpBB to vBulletin. Was a very popular feature. Would be nice to get this ported to vBulletin and import the data over from my phpBB database.
Add me to the list too. I could use this for my site and would not mind buying a copy of the MOD.
I also need this hack, badly! :)
Count me in! I'm also interested in it for opel-club.gr, BIGTIME!!!
We use the Fusion Registry on our ATV site, however, it is for IPB...I would LOVE to have something for our vBulletin site!!
I would also be interested in this
we're in the process of considering porting to vBulletin from phpBB and one of the most popular features of our forum was the phpGarage.
Is there any documentation on what might be required to port phpGarage to vBulletin? |
Wow! I'm extremely interested in get this ported from phpbb over and would be quite willing to throw up some cash to get it done.
With all of this interest it is beyond me why someone will not do it - I've even attempted to hire several individuals to take on the project. Even if the cost is $10-15/site I think the investment would be recovered very easily. vB is the largest used forum based software and it is a shame we do not have a garage feature.
I'd be willing to pony up for this as well - I'd even be willing to coordinate things if needed.
What can I do to make this happen? There seems to be sooo much interest in having this done, but no one wants to take it on. :( |
Maybe this thread needs to be moved (or a new thread started) into a paid modifications area, since there are plenty of people willing to chip in. If I had the time, I'd try messing with it (started on it a couple years ago, but didn't get too far), but I'm having a hard time trying to find the time to update the content on my site as is, let alone taking on a coding project.
Count me in as a paying customer ... Git 'er done! :)
I've essentially given up on this mod unfortunately - it is the most requested update to our forum.
Count me in too! Several users have asked for this and I'd love this mod on my site.

I would still mention that the product is basically out there already (Fusion Scripts mod) and Zacariah (sp?) has permission from them to port it over to vBulletin. As was done with the phpBB version, it can then be modified from there. I could be wrong, but I would think it would be easier to start off with a base setup and convert it to function with vB than to start from scratch. But I am all for it and am willing to help out wherever I can.
very interested for our site as well..

That is exactly what should be done, but no one wants to do it. I cannot even get people to return PMs or emails - quite sad actually. |
Yeah, the sad part is people are still trying to get the timeslip database up and running. They have even gotten someone to "upgrade" it to vB3.7 for like $200 or something. Pretty sad, actually, as the timeslip database is so basic compared to the garage module. Maybe one of these years, I'll get a chance to start working on my port of it....
