I found the malefactor

It was the "resize large images hack".

Actually for me it would be the Header template due to the skin I'm using, but I knew that much. I just don't know what to look for? All I know is that everything worked before I installed this...

I got it to work on 3.5. I had to remove 3 <if> statements and it worked just fine.

If I installed a couple of MODs that required edits to the USERCP_SHELL, can I undo those edits, replace the original USERCP_SHELL with the replacement and then redo the edits from the other two installed MODs to make this work? I am hoping so.

But what do I edit specifically? It seems there would be a lot considering that the whole original USERCP_SHELL needs to be replaced with the code of the replacement usercp_shell.

I am trying to add the vbMySmilies MOD edits in to the replacement USERCP_SHELL file, but do not have:

Nice hack - BUT why you didn't do this as product xml ? it's very simple and now is the right way to making any modifications in templates ! no manual changes... only 2 templates and 1 plugin parse_templates in xml.
