Is there anyway to display the awards on a specific member without having to install an additional modification?

I'm not to sure to be honest. I would suggest that adding a secondary rank (or in this case) award to a member group but then all members (and some you didn't want having the badge) will have the award.

I'm sure there's an easy way around it but the easiest method would to install a third party hack.
