I uploaded the xml file in the style & template manager - is there another step to take?

Did you upload the images folder via FTP to your forum's root directory ?

I did.

Looking through the folder, I might know where the problem is (just not how to solve it).

in the Blaze folder (same folder that the images folder is in), there's some files called:
layout.html
small button.psd
subforums.psd
blanklogo.psd
large button.psd

etc

which directory should these be uploaded to?

Andrew 09-03-2006 05:02 AM

Those files don't get uploaded - Those are the Photoshop source files for making new buttons and stuff.

ok...I'll try it again pretty soon. Hopefully it works :)

ChrisTech 09-03-2006 04:56 PM

Actual install instructions are nice to have in each style folks post. Gotta remember, not everyone is a seasoned VB person. Some of us might have run vb for years, but never changed skins...full info helps...

KevinLiles 09-03-2006 11:02 PM

Thank you.

jyajay 09-04-2006 12:07 PM

I activated the old version 2 postbit, just like on this forum. But the thread tables are broken and not in one straight line anymore. What can I do to fix that?

Andrew 09-04-2006 01:31 PM

There shouldn't be any problems with either of the postbits - I tested both of them before I released the style. Have you made any other changes to the templates ?

jyajay 09-04-2006 01:54 PM

I just changed the header code for adding a link for the advanced rule mod. But thats it.

If you browse through the forum as a guest or a normal member the tables are looking fine.

first of all: great work! thank you. but i have problems getting rid of the side bar. i copied the original FORUMHOME template of the standard-skin into the Blaze FORUMHOME template. reloaded everything and the left "control panel" and forum statistics are gone. but where to login now? how can i get the "control panel"/login box back? maybe i can do it by following you second step: "then reapply the category spacing template mod to it from this thread". but i don't know what that means. i'm kinda new to alle of this. pls help. thx!

greetings

buma

Andrew 09-04-2006 06:23 PM

Oh - I forgot that I had placed the login/info panel into that left column. You'd have to move that back into the header or navbar templates most likely, but your starting to get into slightly more complicated territory.

murdo 09-05-2006 11:20 AM

would LOVE this if there was a blue version to substitute the red

buma 09-05-2006 09:24 PM

hi,

i have one question concerning your style and flashchat!

normaly in the standard style you have to edit "navbar" template.

"At this point, you should be able to edit some HTML code directly from within your web browser. Locate this text:

<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="login.php?$session[sessionurl]do=logout"
onclick="return log_out()">$vbphrase[log_out]</a></td>

and insert "<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="chat/flashchat.php"
target="flashchat">FlashChat</a></td> ".

with the default style this is easy. but where in the "navbar" template of BLAZE do i have to put the line in? i can't locate the position :( maybe you can help?!

greetings

buma

Andrew 09-05-2006 09:54 PM

The navbar is located in the HEADER template - I literally just cut and pasted it from one to the other, so if you do the search in that template instead, you shouldn't have a problem finding it :)

Could you please elaborate on what chunk of code would need to be moved to get the sidebar to show on every page? Thanks!!!!!

zell_11 09-09-2006 01:22 PM

This actually matches my home skin lol

Thanks a lot

VBUsers 09-10-2006 03:28 AM

EragonSN 09-10-2006 07:06 AM

Well, my first post xD

I got a few wishes; but I would first like to thank you for the Great Skin you Made :D

I would like to know howto add another Table, below the Forum Statistics, like on the forumlink that AR Forums posted.

I also got a small problem, there's a few images not shown, and I have no clue were the problem might be (see attachment),

look at the left side of the title "A few Addons/Updates" , and then you'll see, that the image source is somewere in a folder called "tren_z", but I can nowere find that folder in my vB forum Folder...

Any clue?

You need to change the paths to your icons and smilies in the AdminCP - It looks like they're currently hard coded to point to another location from an older style.

In the forumbit_level1_nopost template you can hard code the widths into the table columns. The only problem with that is you can easily send a table off the page if you have a thread title that is too long.

thanks, found the problem xD

and can you help me with my other request?

Andrew 09-10-2006 10:53 AM

You'd prolly need a plugin/mod of some sorts to display the other information that you were after - I don't think you can do that with just a template edit.

EragonSN 09-10-2006 11:17 AM

how did you first add them? I might be able (with alot of reading), to add one myself, by doing some template edit xD

or, AR Forums might be helpful, as it seams that you allready have added 2 additional boxes

Andrew 09-10-2006 12:28 PM

Oh - That's what you were wanting to create. Just open up the FORUMHOME and copy and paste one of the boxes that I already have there right below it. Then just change the content it of it to whatever you'd like.

mustangdotcom 09-11-2006 11:43 AM

I am getting a fixed width so when I browse with an 800x setting you have to scroll left/right.

The demo site handles resizing fine.
Any clues?

Andrew 09-11-2006 07:40 PM

There shouldn't be any problems with the style being fluid unless you've added content into the left tables that make them larger than the originals.

VBUsers 09-11-2006 09:57 PM

do you happen to havethe code to even the forums?

chrisife 09-13-2006 07:26 AM

Can somebody help me. The width of my forum home appears too large. It doesn't fit the display.

The forum is: http://www.nollywoodforum.com/forums.php

Your problem is being caused by the humongous stats mod that you have installed - There's so much content in it, that it's taking up an easy 800px of page real estate, and it doesn't condense any further.

anything? i really need toget this fixed.

Andrew 09-16-2006 01:23 PM

My guess is you've created an issue with the table by adding those additional buttons to the bottom of the lefthand column (Not sure if that's a hack or what really.) If you disable/remove that addition, do you still have the problems ?

yes the problem happened to me when i had a clean install (no hacks or mods added) and i looked at the site from my frends PC. he has a 15 inch monitor and IE6. then i went to my PC and thought it was just his. but i have members and staff telling me it is still going on. dont know why

akirareiko 09-18-2006 06:32 PM

I only support styles at the current vBulletin version - You'll need to upgrade to 3.6.1 or try using the 3.6.1 style on your 3.6.0 installation.

WHMTalk 09-23-2006 12:10 PM

Thanks a lot for such a great theme!

Could you please guide me how to put that left column on the right side of the main body?

Thanks!
Kind regards,

Great design Andrew!!!

I found a little bug with private forums. They break the mail forum page for the users who have access to them.

Simon.
