Yup, your issues look exactly like the ones we're having.

Andrew 09-11-2006 07:43 PM

I don't know why the postbits would be aligned improperly - I made only minimal changes to those templates. As for the alignment of the forums on the homepage, there is always going to be a slight variation due to the nature of splitting the tables all apart. However, if you're seeing a big gap, I think it might be a browser dependent issue.

alyster4k 09-11-2006 08:22 PM

If I get some time I'll do some comparison and testing with the default one, Andrew. Thanks.

not 09-12-2006 04:13 AM

Forum listing still off on firefox, although not as bad. Posts are all lined up on firefox.

None of the issues are on default style.

Could this be related to the problem?

Andrew 09-12-2006 05:41 PM

No - When I do major upgrades to my styles, I start with a fresh vBulletin style for the proper version and build them from the ground up again.

Lycius 09-13-2006 03:15 AM

I'm missing a ton of images in it. Loads of little red squares all over. It looks fine in FF and not fine in IE or IE7.

3 of 4 styles doing this. Not sure what is going on.

Unzipped and uploaded them to the images folder.

Andrew 09-13-2006 01:56 PM

Did you change the relative image paths to point directly to the images folders in the style options ? That will usually fix a lot of image problems when you're using mods that operate in a different directory.

Lycius 09-13-2006 02:58 PM

No I didn't and to be honest I am slightly clueless as to where you would do that at.

My site manager is out of town and I figured I could screw anything up by adding a few styles I liked.

Is there a doc on how to do that anywhere or a quick explaination of where the paths that need to be changed are? I can follow instruction, but I have no real experience with the board setup. It just looked simple to install a style...hehe I should have known better.

I looked around in the xml file and it looks like most of the mods are looking in /images/[Mod]/etc etc.. and my forum is in /community/images

Andrew 09-13-2006 03:30 PM

You don't need to change anything in the .XML file - All of the image paths can be changed from the Style Manager in the AdminCP.

Lycius 09-13-2006 03:43 PM

Yeah I figured that out and changed the path and it still can't find any of the buttons etc, even though the paths are correct.

Weird thing is that I can revert them and they show the default icons without /community in the path.

One thing I did notice is that alot of the image files etc in all the styles that aren't working have spaces in the naming. The style that works has no blank spacing and uses _ to separate.

Forgive my ignorance, but Linux doesn't recognize blank space does it?

Andrew 09-13-2006 05:42 PM

None of my styles should have any spaces in the file names - I use underscores in place of spaces in the filenames of all my images. Are you sure you're uploading the proper images and not the .PSD images that I included for customizations ?

Lycius 09-13-2006 06:18 PM

I uploaded the entire folder and then imported the xml.

Stupid Safeco proxy prevents me from FTPing my site so I can't actually check anything until I get home but I'm pretty sure the.....I'm pretty sure that I'm an idiot and I just figured it out. I uploaded the entire folder. Lemme try something.

Lycius 09-13-2006 06:28 PM

Yup, I'm an idiot.

Now I have to wait until I get home to fix it since the main folder has spaces in it :laugh:

In the future, can you take the spaces out of the main folder so newbs like me don't end up all gofed up on Linux ;)

alyster4k 09-13-2006 07:04 PM

No luck, not. I compared the few line changes and even did some copy/paste tests without any luck. I'll be damned but I can't figure out what the different between B&G and the default style really is. I'm about to give up I suppose.

not 09-14-2006 11:28 AM

Thanks for trying, it's a puzzle to me also. Usually things don't work in Firefox but do in IE.

jklimczak 09-14-2006 04:46 PM

Any On get this to work with 3.6.1

StuntFactoryX 09-16-2006 04:38 PM

the post bit tables were all messed up. i tried reverting and nothing worked. finaly they went back to normal when i used different images under avatar for ip. online stautus and infraction images. so im guessing only admin would have this issue cuz other users dont see all them. im guessing they are too big?

awesome style thank you.

JayT123 09-17-2006 12:20 AM

How can you center the title image?

KevinLiles 09-20-2006 12:52 AM

Great

phatguy88 09-20-2006 02:24 AM

Any fix for mis-aligning tables?

KevinLiles 09-21-2006 03:56 AM

Re: Misalignment in Postbit Legacy

Not sure what you did to fix this, Andrew, but all I did was substitute the infraction.gif icon with a different one. IMO the icon made for the skin was too wide and that is what was throwing everything off in postbit. Sometimes all the icons would wrap and sometimes just push everything out of alignment. Once I changed it to a 21x17 pixel gif everything aligned perfectly in IE and Firefox.

Of course, being the admin I have the online/offline, infraction, report post, gif and IP gifs displayed, which is probably why it was out of alignment for me in the first place.

Hope this helps if the problem hasn't been fixed.

Roan

Andrew 10-01-2006 06:53 AM

Hmm - I'll look into that later today and see if the dimensions for that image are hard coded or something.

Zork2 10-01-2006 08:41 AM

I just installed the skin, it looks really good. thanks.

Roan, your suggestion fixed my view. Thank you!!

Hello,

first, excuse my bad english :) ,

I have Hardcoded the width of the Tables.

In Template forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost

Original
Code:

        <tr align="center">
          <td class="thead">&nbsp;</td>
          <td class="thead" width="100%" align="$stylevar[left]">$vbphrase[forum]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="175">$vbphrase[last_post]</td>
          <td class="thead">$vbphrase[threads]</td>
          <td class="thead">$vbphrase[posts]</td>
          <if condition="$vboptions['showmoderatorcolumn']">
          <td class="thead">$vbphrase[moderator]</td>
          </if>
        </tr>

My changed
Code:

<tr align="center">
          <td class="thead">&nbsp;</td>
          <td class="thead" width="55%" align="$stylevar[left]">$vbphrase[forum]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="30%">$vbphrase[last_post]</td>
          <td class="thead">$vbphrase[threads]</td>
          <td class="thead">$vbphrase[posts]</td>
          <if condition="$vboptions['showmoderatorcolumn']">
          <td class="thead">$vbphrase[moderator]</td>
          </if>
        </tr>

And it works fine, you must change width in percent and not in pixel.

hello
i have this famous problem of misalignment and no one of solution posted here works for me.

my version is 3.6.1

i see the wrong alignment only when i'm logged and only with Opera & IE

some help? :confused:

jklimczak 10-05-2006 12:09 AM

Will this work with 3.6.2

Andrew 10-05-2006 01:41 PM

I'm not sure about 3.6.2, but there can't have been that many changes with that quick of a release (I'll update the .XML file and such anyways on Sunday regardless.)

same problem :/

i'm waiting sunday for fix :)

Cebby 10-05-2006 11:42 PM

Thanks for the update. Now I can update to 3.6 with no worries!!

(Been using this skin with 3.5 for quite long)

Andrew 10-06-2006 09:07 AM

There were no template changes between 3.6.1 and 3.6.2 that affected any of my styles, so you can all safely upgrade. I'll be releasing an updated .XML file on Sunday, but that's mainly for asthetics and the ease of not having to check the override option for new installations.

TeCer 10-10-2006 04:22 PM

uhm, some news? :surprised:

Andrew 10-11-2006 06:50 AM

I updated the style's .XML file to vBulletin 3.6.2 on Sunday, as I stated I would. An update email was sent to those that have clicked install for this mod, but it looks like you haven't done so yet.

sry for that :/

murekhalir 10-13-2006 05:27 PM

I have a question, how would I be able to change the vBulletin yellow logo on the top left? Any steps or instructions would be great ^_^ i'm a vbulletin style newbie.

Calliope 10-17-2006 02:37 AM

I'm having the same alignment issues everyone else is having. I have read through every post and have tried every suggestion and none of them work. They are only mis-aligned for the administrators and mods in the forum but not regular members. Is there a way to fix this?

Ohiosweetheart 10-19-2006 10:59 AM

I like, I like!!! Sleek, clean, and even with the dark colors, which I can't usually handle, it's still easy on the eyes. Probably because you stuck with 2 basic colors.

VERY nice :D

GreatLakes 10-20-2006 06:08 AM

Great style! Thanks for all the work. I changed some images, and some colors around to suit my sites needs...

http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/forumindex.php

Any idea how I can make the postbit tables as wide as the navbar... if you look on my site the table is about 30 pixels smaller... any ideas where I should be looking to fix it?
