You have to use the <a hef= command, I figured it out after I posted.

I have a question, I have vbshout installed and I am wanting to put the global announcement below the navbar which is above the forums, now is there a way I can change the code in order to have it sitting above the forums and not below the navbar?

Greetings all!

I'm back! :p
Anyways, vBDiscussion was pretty much a bum deal seeing as I hardly ever updated it due to school etc. But im finding that Im getting quite a bit of free time to work on it. So temporarly vBDiscussion.com has been closed until the 1st December where it will reopen.

Im writing loads of tutorials, and writing many new modifications / updates to previous modifications and they will all be released on here and at vBDiscussion.com. They will also be all released ON 1st December :)

So for now, all support for all of my modifications will have to be dealt through vBulletin.org.

I will be updating all of my current vBulletin modifications for 3.6 to the latest vBulletin version to avoid any bugs etc.

For now any bugs you come across, I would recommend you PM me and I will deal with any problems you have.

Since I'll be updating things, be sure to PM me with any requested features or modifications! I will be very happy :)

Cheers,

Marky

Great mod!

Shazz 11-28-2006 06:11 PM

Still working well on all 3.6 Thanx

dmsride 11-30-2006 03:51 PM

I must say that I like very much :) Here are some suggestions for future versions that you may consider implimenting.

1) Adding multiple announcements instead of just one.
2) The text box can be small when there is a rather large announcement. What about a popup window for a larger box? For example, the same technique that VB uses for editing templates.
3) This one is a bit of a stretch, but what about a WYSIWYG editor?

Just some thoughts. Please feel free to use any of the suggestions or none of them as you see fit.

*installed*

Has this mod been updated yet? I would like to know if it has the BBcode features and smilie features you had planned to include.

vspro 12-18-2006 02:04 AM

Why don't have version full :(

Marky 12-30-2006 10:09 AM

I appologise guys, my vBulletin licence has run out (Leased) and I don't have enough money to buy a new one right now. So since I no longer have a licence, I am unable to continue production on this modification. I will post once I have a licence but that might not be for some time.

Thanks,

Marky

Thats a announcment in forums
This is a Global Announcment where it appears on every page

ZapFlash 02-12-2007 12:44 PM

hi, i hope you you can get your license back sometime soon, this was the very first thing i needed to add to my board.

i know you might not answer soon, but i'm gonna put this

i'm having a weird error only in Firefox, every morning all the dates of the posts show as %11-%b-%2007 %0:%Feb %p.. but if i go to the global announcements and save again, it fixes and shows like 02-12-2007 08:16 AM, do you know what could correct that?

thank you :)

pauloo 08-15-2007 12:55 PM

When 1.3 Beta 2 ?

thanks

Neska 09-16-2007 09:06 PM

Seems it's not supported anymore :)

q22inc 09-18-2007 10:35 PM

Question...

Great installation, by the way. But is there any way to make the font in the actual announcement scroll?

I would love to use this feature and add in updates / reminders into the announcements area. Where it will scroll across the top of my forums.

Joey805 10-03-2007 04:03 PM

I imported the XML, set the user groups to 1,2,6 and 7. Then turned the announcement online and it still does not show up. What am I doing wrong?

Marky 10-21-2007 04:56 PM

Hey all,

Just got myself a brand SPANKING new vBulletin licence, that I intend to use at:
http://www.mgarcade.com

Nevertheless, I also intend to start supporting my previous mods, as well as starting new ones!

To that extent... if you feel that a feature that you wish for hasn't been included in Global Announcements, say it loud and proud NOW! And I will work on 'Global Announcements Version 1.4' which will be available for the latest vBulletin versions and will be completly supported!

Thanks,
Marky

LouiseWilson 10-23-2007 07:38 AM

ill mark it and come back when its 1.4 :) nice thou

Shanj 11-12-2007 08:58 AM

Marky great to see you back.
I would like
- Multiple announcements
- Set colour of the box background for each.
- Did you ever get the positioning sorted below the navbar? I guess you add it to the page template.
- Wonder if it would be possible to have 2 columns so they'd be more boxes than strips?
- Or just be able to use an html table in it. That would cover doing colours as well. If inserting a table would be workable could supply a brief code guide for those who don't do html like a table with 1 td (column) note on where to put colour codes, some sample colour codes; table with 2 cols, tables one col or 2 cols with borders. (I can do that for you)

Prince 11-28-2007 01:23 AM

does this work in vB 3.6.8?

Prince 11-28-2007 03:23 AM

it does work on 3.6.8, but after upgrading I had to add the $globalannounce back to the navbar template manually even after re-importing this mod.

Kadi 04-26-2008 08:31 PM

Since upgrading to 3.6.10 the announcements are on every page and on every thread.

I need it on forumhome only.

What happened to updating this mod?

cupra 07-01-2008 03:02 PM

great work, i will try that one , thx a lot!

dying4004 08-26-2008 07:03 AM

if u need it on forumhome then add the code to forumhome template instead of navbar. but it is supposed to be in all pages thats why its called global announcement
