Is that a selectable option? I prefer my members to see what the required post count should be.

Updated :).. Thnx for the update :)..

If you dissalow them to view thread/forum etc through regular vBulletin permissions then standard no permission message is shown.

If they are allowed to see forum/thread etc by regular vBulletin permissions but you required post count x to view it then "your post count..." message is shown.

There is no "upgrade" instructions in this txt.

Do we overwrite when we reinstall this over the old one?

Hi Cyb! Big fan of your mods.

I have this running on 2 of my sites. On one, it works perfectly, on the other it's not working.

I am trying to throttle the spamming links from new members. It's not working at all. I have made sure all the settings are right(usergroup permissions for this hack, etc)

What should I look for?

EDIT: Seems as if I make myself a NEW user, it will allow me to indeed post links, just not view them (says: To view links in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. Your post count is 1 momentarily.)

I need new users NOT to be able to post links.

Valter 09-12-2006 02:59 AM

Temp admin account for me may help.

Is that for me? If so, PM me or let me know so I can make you an admin.

abenoking 09-17-2006 05:04 AM

Flagging for updates.

Thanks for the hack!

ged 09-17-2006 06:56 AM

I have the same problem here Cyb..BTW excellent hack..Surprisingly it used to work fine a few days back, but with no other setting change, it suddenly stopped working.

Toopac 09-20-2006 01:49 AM

Users with less than the specified postcount amount can still post links in threads, also could you make it so members with less than 'x' amount of posts can't post links in the replies to topics either?

NewAlf 09-20-2006 06:38 AM

Yeah, i'd really like the fix in place soon. I hate to see spammers open an account and post their "phentermine", "viagra" ads..

Masiello 09-20-2006 07:01 AM

I believe this is one of the best hack I have seen on this forum, but it sort a simple question, it is good for serach engine spiders?
I think not because it block to view content at all and don't allow spiders to indexing your content, any solution for this?
I thin yes, for example to exclude from the script inside the hack by specific a IP or address knows from yahoo, google, msn, ecc ecc, I believe this is possible but I don't know how, if any coder or advanced coder do that it is really the best.

Valter 09-20-2006 10:40 AM

v3.8 - Sep 20. 2006.
- Fixed bug (posting links permissions doesn't work)

To upgrade: Import XML, allow overwrite.

Mecho 09-20-2006 10:47 AM

tnx for upgrade .. keep up good work :)

Shazz 09-20-2006 12:51 PM

*update!

Toopac 09-20-2006 04:42 PM

Hey Cybernetec, Could you make it so members with less than 'x' amount of posts can't post links in the replies to topics either?

I need a surefire way to stop these flipping spammers:tired:

Maybe if you don't want this as part of the product, could you atleast tell me what to edit or something?

NewAlf 09-20-2006 06:28 PM

Hi,
The fix has worked and now everything is back to normal. I feel this tool is a must in today's world...Ty so much:cool:

It works in replies too, including quick reply.

Toopac 09-21-2006 08:55 PM

Oh, excellent!

This hack is great, it really will save me hours in the long run, i think even my mods will appreciate your hack:)

moonclamp 09-22-2006 03:21 AM

Couple of requests.

Is there anyway this can be extended to prevent users adding links to their signatures?

Also, could this be made into a conditional so I can add it to other custom templates and other addons? ... something along the lines of <"if condition userpostcount=-15"><else/>content</if> perhaps?

Anyway, thanks :)

daylight 09-23-2006 03:04 PM

nice one i must say....thanks

juan71287 09-24-2006 01:09 PM

inspiration100 09-27-2006 08:46 PM

THANK YOU!!! Any way to change what the message says when you can't view the thread?

Dr00pY 09-27-2006 10:45 PM

Hmmm interesting plugin.....

I am looking for something similar. Basically, what I want, is to not allow a user to use the img tag until they have posted a certain number of posts, and then the ability to remove that right if the user abuses it.

Can this be made to do that, or does anyone know of any other plugin that might???

Dr00pY

bashy 09-28-2006 09:33 PM

Hi, this does not inherit the permissions for the sub forums and i have quite a few, i dont really want to be setting them all individually :(

Any ideas please?

curriertech 09-29-2006 05:59 PM

If I disable link posting/viewing under x posts, the quote/multiquote links don't show up in postbit for the users affected by the post count restriction.
