Don't forget to modify your "forums/includes/class_bbcode.php" file and to configure the mod. Then, try to type a new message and see the result.

Already did all that and just retired it all and for some reason it is only working on Default Style only and no other styles, even though I have them all saved in options. Any clues as to why it's doing that please?

Bug confirmed :confused: Just put one style id and it will work. Arg. I'll work on it.

lanc3lot 07-12-2006 03:22 PM

Mate, in your first post, u never mentioned (and in bold u should imho) that after we uninstall it, we will loose all the html code of new bbodes templates. I find it very bad, and if the others understood what i mean, will agree (just download the zip and see the details).

Will this, affect in anyway, our style templates?

If you uninstall version 1.1 and install version 1.2 you don't loose any html code. But it seems there is still a problem i need to fix to make it work well.

The problem : if you only specify one style per set, it will work ; otherwise it won't.

cclaerhout 07-12-2006 04:08 PM

Well, i think the problem is now fixed. Can someone test this file ? To upgrade, just import it.

To uninstall version 1.1, follow this procedure. Sorry for this. The version 1.2 avoids this now.

If I revert back to the master is this going to mess with any of my other, hacks I installed ??

Also I am currently running 3.5.4, I will be going to 3.6 when it goes gold. So do you think it would be best to revert to master after I unistall of my current hacks and then upgrade to 3.6 ?

If you upgrade to 3.6, your master template will be automaticly replaced. Just don't forget to uninstall bbcodemanager 1.1 before to update to 3.6.

If you load again your mastertemplate with the same vB version than the one you're using, it won't mess with any of your other hacks. Any modified templates will stay modified. Again, sorry for this.

Does someone test my new xml file above ? I prefere to be sure it works (for me it does) before to do another new update :D

Edit : i've just modified the archive to include in it the new xml file above. I will wait for your feedback before to report the modification.

Scooterpig 07-13-2006 06:00 AM

Thank you cclaerhout, that has fixed the multiple style problem and all working fine..:)

cclaerhout 07-13-2006 06:15 AM

Great ! I will be able to take holydays now :D

Dan 07-13-2006 06:22 AM

cclaerhout 07-13-2006 10:42 PM

Version 1.22 released :
-code is simpler
-The code uses now $style[styleid] variable instead of $styleid ->allow guests to see the right bbcode set

Rickie3 07-14-2006 12:58 AM

In fact, the file isn't missing, but the link is not good :D
It should be "/bbcodemanager/simple/link.png". I'm going to correct this.

Edit : the archive has been modified.

Scooterpig 07-15-2006 09:17 AM

After import of latest .xml file still only showing as v1.22 - is this correct?

The png transparency in IE isnt working right ? We still need another hack to make it work ?

In fact in that case, you've got three options :
-Use png with IE ; so yes you need a transparency IE hack
-Use gif for all browsers
-Activate IE 6 detection to use gif format only with that browser. But to make that option works, you have to set the Cached Posts Lifespan to 0 in vB options.

thanks

I like this mod, thx :)

cavyspirit 07-29-2006 05:06 PM

On my forum, we don't really use html, code, etc. We just do quotes. However, I would love for the users to be able to have a few option of quote colors to select. I can just created some different flavors of the quote tag to do that, right?

FunaGuy 07-31-2006 07:41 PM

looks awwwwww
Installed..yum

o0Hubba0o 08-01-2006 03:03 AM

Installed, using RC3 working great, haven't check anything for IE on my forums but that's ok, FF ftw.

b6gm6n 08-04-2006 04:15 PM

Hi dude... nice mod, just wondered if you could advise me further... if you check the attached which is using the 70% tr style i seem to have problems getting colours to work with the text within the quote... an extra css def seems to be ignored... as you can see the best i can do is make it whiter... should i perhaps concider making the PNG files for this style/quote more transparent?

cheers

cavyspirit 08-04-2006 05:15 PM

Okay. Got it installed. Working fine.

However, I would like the quote to be more indented. I'd like a little more space on the left-hand side. How do I do that?

Also, I want the text within the quote to be larger. Do you know where I set that?

Then, there is one little thing that I don't have a good idea for yet. In the 3.6, when quoting a post, IF there is a quote, you get that quote link. Great. Now, with this installed, you get the quote graphic, but you have no idea at all if it is an active link or just a nice graphic--especially with all the old posts that don't have the links. You have to move your mouse to hover over it, to determine if you can click to the quoted post or not.

Actually, perhaps a great workaround for that is add some logic that uses one color of the quote for clickable and a different color of the quote for non-clickable post references. Yes, that would be quite satifactory for me! I kind of like the idea of two different colors of quotes anyway. This is a good way to spice up the visual a bit. For those that want a monochromatic look, they can still use the same color!

Also, it would have been nice if vB had made the person's user name being quoted clickable to their profile to do a quick look at them or their other posts. It's a perfect spot for that to make it more usable. Any chance that can be included in this?

Yeah, I was going to ask that too, haven't had time myself yet to search through it to find out.

Bulent Tekcan 08-05-2006 08:52 AM

Is it work multi quote (with message links) ?

Thanks

I'm happy to have at least that question ! :D The answer is YES :) Since the begining, multi quote is working. But for light, dark and pastel sets, there's a tip : just clic on the big "

Easy isn't it ?

You will have to modify this :
Code:

<if condition="$show[username]"><i>$message</i><else />$message</if>
Into this i think :
Code:

<div style="padding-left:XXpx"><if condition="$show[username]"><i>$message</i><else />$message</if></div>
But using div tag can be a problem with IE or FF... I don't remember, you have to test it. I won't do it because i fed up with browsers compatibility ; i've spent too much time ;)

Oh, i was wrong above, someone has noticed the system :D You've got a great idea, as soon as i'll find time to do this, i'll release an update. But i'm not sure it will be an option. There are enough options and i like the idea. Thanks.

I thought i've made the text color in quote only in black... Why did you change it ? If you still want to change the color, you can edit templates xxx_simple_tr and change "color:black;" in what you want.

cavyspirit 08-05-2006 08:52 PM

I think you misunderstood what I was looking for in moving the quote more to the right. I want the whole thing moved. Graphics and all.

Actually, here is where I think I want to make a change (in the template):

<!-- Dark bbcode_quote-->
<div dir="ltr" style="align:right;margin-top:15px;margin-bottom:5px;width:90%;color:black;">
<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>

The 90% is about perfect, but the whole quote is still lined up on the left. I want it lined up on the right or preferrably, CENTERED. But align:right or align:center isn't taking.
