It sends normally ("Thank you, your PM has been sent") but gets put in the moderation queue rather than go straight to the recipients.
Thanks, Alan. |

thanks alot i was waiting for this hack
|
This hack will be updated when 3.6 gold comes out, right?
|
It (should) work with 3.6 Gold without needing to be updated.
Thanks, Alan. |
*watis for the update
Thanx alan :) |
does it allow to open inboxes of certain member? just to check?
if my understanding is right, lets say you have 20000 members and you place them in private message moderation que, it will be a lot of headache manually releasing the messages. also will it change the timestamp? like, i send a message right now, and it reaches after being approved by admins 5 hours later. will the recepient see the original time or whent it was released by admin? smart users will figure this out and might create adversary effect. that's why i wish it allowed random message check instead of sending them for moderation first, or "keyword" check by default. no one can prevent spamming. i can simply use an image to send my message without ever getting caught. but if this hack allowed random message check, maybe i'd be in bad luck if admins caught my message while cheking the PMs sent in their forum. anyway,, i appreciate your efforts. i hope you will take my comments into consideration for next time. /* oh, for recrods, i'm not judging it. i'm all for monitoring user activity occasionally. i dont' think its ethically wrong. as forum owner, i should know what's going on in my forum. */ |
thanks alot for this hack i am using vb3.6.0
but there is a problem in the hack here is the problem in the database appear i have tried to use moderation by keywords here: Database error in vBulletin 3.6.0: PHP Code:
|
The field that is causing you problems is not one created by this modification.
The error is being caused by whichever modification adds the hhroptions field to the usergroup table. |
Thanks ! :)
|
problem is still i cant do anything please tell me how can i solve it?
|
problem fixed its not the hack its a table problem ;)
|
Is there a possibility to get this hack to show up the amount of PM's caught with keywords (awaiting moderation) on the control panel home page, top right with the other moderation summaries? That will make my life a lot easier, as I don't then have to go and check if there are any moderated PM's.
Thanks Firestar |
Does this hack work well in combination with the PM workbench?
|
Yes it does. I run it in conjunction with PM workbench.

|
Working fine on vb 3.6.4
Thanks for this wonderful hack Alan @ CIT |
I can't find the " Edit plugin.php go to line 2091, and remove "$typeid," (note the comma, that must be removed as well)" part in the moderate pm.php file is it already edited? Plus where do I send this php file exactly? I'm new at this and not to familiar with the getting around in the server side files. Sorry but I am a noob and just had this board less than a week.

Will it work on 3.6.4?
|
I've installed this and set the follow options on for "member" default group, is this correct?
Moderate All Private Messages (on) Moderate Private Messages using Keywords (on) Should it be both or just one (in my case, filtered by keywords). Is this conflicting? Also, any way to receive an email instantly if anything ends up in moderation queue? |
work with 3.64??
|
i got:
vBulletin Message Sorry, you don't have permission to access the administrative controls on this page. If you need to access this page, ask your lead administrator to enable your permissions for this page using the Administrator Permissions section of the control panel. vb 3.64 |
Are you a superadmin?
|
me? or asking someone else?
|
Nice Hack Alann, how to remove "PM Moderation" from the Mod Panel??? It look suspicious when Mod/ Super Mod see that and don't have access to it,
|
Will this mod work on 3.6.4?
And does "moderate pm's" in this instance mean the pm will no tgo through till an Admin or selected moderator allows it? |
Is there a way to put this in the admincp as well?

After installing on 3.6.4........
No options appear under "Private Message Permissions" ? It installed fine with no errors but the options are not there? I own the forum and am set as Adminstrator. I tried re-installing..but still no go. Is there anything I can check? Thanks Last edited by mistyPotato : Today at 13:55. Never Mind....I got it....I just didn't do it right is all. Solution.... There are 4 files that need to be integrated. For whatever reason (my fault) these files did not end up in the correct places. The files can't just be "dumped" into the general "Php" folder for the forum. Some of the files have to go into the XML folder under the adminCD folder for example. When I unzipped the folder to the desktop and then explored the folders and sub folders according to the original file/folder locations, that's when I saw what I needed to do. |
Great hack and installed!
